Yes, this is my view and it is beautiful at night with the city lights. The mountains are so pretty with the snow on them too. Come on over !!!!

Stranger danger....

So there I am sitting in my office and Skye comes running in full force, bumps into me and is acting a bit strange. I turn around and from my office I can see through the sliding glass doors to the backyard. There were two men with weed whackers behind the fence. I of course knew what they were doing. (They clear the brush each year for fire safety) This was new to Skye and she could sense it was wrong. This quite dog started to bark. I was so proud.

Don't grow old !

Today I'm having a "don't grow old" day. My Dad always tells me that his mom would say that to him. Like we have a choice! I don't like growing older. Sure I have the aches and pains you would expect, only I didn't expect so many at my age. I thought that they wouldn't start until my late 70's or 80's. Do you ever want to go back in time? I have that thought often, the opportunity to go back but have the wisdom I have today. But of course it's all the years of experiences that have brought us this wisdom. I do dream of going back to a time when I didn't have asthma. That's a big dream of mine but I know that can't happen. See if I had the wisdom I have today I would have lived a different life. I would have been more into fitness, or did allot more hiking up in the mountains. The beauty in the forest is always awesome to me. We have been going to Mammoth Lakes every summer for many years now. I use to be able to hike in the mountains but not anymore. I am lucky to walk the steps to the cabin. I sit and read while everyone else is out seeing all the beauty around us. I still love going every summer and the beauty will always remain fresh in my mind. Today I am thankful for the fact that I feel better then I did a year ago. That's a good thing! Is there a lesson to be learned, sure! Take care of yourself today, go out for that walk, ride your bike, play in the yard with your kids because today you don't know what tomorrow will bring.

Charlie was over this week and when it's time for them to go home Skye loves to pull him around on his leash. It's really funny. We had our first puppy class. We actually learned something that I had never done before with a dog. You get their attention by saying "watch me" while you are holding a treat between your eyes. Skye picked up on it rather quickly. Actually she just sat in class and stared at me. But since I have been home with her for a few days I can actually get her in the house from outside just by saying "watch me" with my hand between my eyes and she runs right over. Your supposed to use it to get there attention when they are doing something you don't want them to do. I can't believe how responsive she is to this command. It has really helped me to control her outside because I don't always want to put her leash on in the yard. But most days I would have to chase behind her in the yard trying to catch her. Now she runs right over to me even with the distraction from the dog next door!
