HOW YOU DOIN'

I don't do Black Friday. I have gotten so spoiled over the last several years to go and shop at other times that I just can't seem to deal with the crowds anymore. Yet I am a bit jealous of those who do, what a great adrenalin rush it must be. (not so great when you have high BP)I will be very content to stay home and start getting ready for Christmas.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and maybe like me you will be dieting until Christmas....that is of course after the left overs are gone! Our dinner was wonderful. I worked really hard getting everything ready and I am thankful that Amber did almost all the dishes.

I have been trying to get a picture of Skye with no luck at all. She just keeps turning her face! I did get a picture of her ball which she put in the corner. I can't imagine what it did wrong. She lives for this ball.

So these treats are Skye's two favorites. Each morning she comes and gets me in my office and takes me to her drawer. So the other morning I give her what I call her "veggie burger" and she didn't want it. Turned her head away but I told her "that's it or nothing at all." She took it and then nicely dropped in back into the drawer. I had to laugh and of course gave her, which I guess is now her favorite, favorite thing....a sweet potato fry.

Okay, I am going to share something heavy which had me crying crocodile tears on Wednesday. Back in September I was asked by my friend Kendra (a.k.a. bowling buddy) if I could send a handkerchief to a woman she follows. Her name in Anna and her blog is called An Inch of Gray. She lost her son Jack in a tragic flood accident. I have been reading her blog ever since and they are an amazing family. His sister Margaret has had a wish, like so many young girls, to meet Justin Bieber in person someday. Well with lots of prayers, along with some tweeting her dream came true. She was invited to the AMA Awards so I invite you to read this post from her mother. God cannot answer their deepest prayers but He gave Jack's sister a slice of happiness.

Now for some happy news. A dear young friend of mine had her rainbow baby on Tuesday. She has two sweet boys and now was blessed with a little girl. I can't wait to hold her. I have shopped and shopped. Her children are as close to grandchildren as I can get right now. Can't wait for her to see these.

Enjoy your weekend.

P.S. A Rainbow baby is a baby born after a loss of another child. After the storm comes a Rainbow.

I flat out do not do Black Friday. Won't go near the stores for anything today!

I always do the dishes on Thanksgiving for my parents. They do so much work preparing the meal, so it's my way of saying thank you.

I'd never heard the term "rainbow baby" but I like it. A blessing after the storm ... yep, that's an apt term! ;-)

I won't go near a retail store (other than possibly the grocery store) on the Friday after Thanksgiving!

I don't do Black Friday either...but I looked at the sale papers last night and saw some good deals so I can sort of understand why people do it....the Princess wanted to wrap presents last night so I dug out 4 for her to do...its a start...

I'm not doing Black Friday, either. Tim brought in all the Christmas boxes for me last night so as soon as I tear myself away from the computer I'll get started on decorating and putting up the tree.

How sweet is the definition of a rainbow baby!

I can't stand big crowds and I can think of nothing I'd like to do less than shopping on Black Friday!!I think I went once about 12 years ago and said this is for someone besides me!

I'm very spoiled by online shopping! Of course, since I've done no shopping yet for this Christmas, I need to get busy. :)

Hi Debby. I love your snowman template and header! I love Christmasy things, too! AND, I love Norman Rockwell paintings, etc. The one you posted of the man and wife and Xmas tree is so cute. I posted pictures of some of my NR plates, if you'd like to stop by my blog. Just click on my photo.
And what a blessing a Rainbow baby is!

Hubby woke up this morning at around three and went out for black Friday. We got a new fridge that we needed badly. I am more and more doing my shopping on amazon and sometimes will get up super early for a few things here and there, but I do NOT like crowds at all. I get very nervous in them!
Blessings, Joanne

Yes, after the storm comes a rainbow! Debbie, I appreciate your heart and hope that your Thanksgiving was abundantly blessed. It does look and sound as though it was. I'm with you on this "black friday" thing...not intersted. I prefer peace and calm lol.

I have never heard of a rainbow baby before. What a sweet name for them!

How cute is Skye?! I love that she put the treat back in the drawer. Tucker just pushes it away with his little nose.

Love the Thanksgiving food shots!

That is so awesome that she gets to meet the Bieber.
It's wonderful when wishes come true. Hopefully it will help ease some of the heartache.

I love those little booties. I had no idea what a rainbow baby was. Thanks for the explanation. That is truly a blessing.

Your Thanksgiving dishes look simply delicious.

No black Friday for me. I loathe shopping.

Frank and I did Lowes at 5 am to get a table saw. We were 2 of 10 people there. It was very pleasant. We rode through Destin Commons but the only stop we made was at Starbucks for coffee. We stopped at Walmart on the way there....there were actually spaces at the front of the store and bought a printer. I don't do Black Friday like others do it. I shop all year and am usually through before now. I loved the little slippers and the term rainbow baby.

Those little booties are so very precious, and I know your friend will love them!

I'm glad that Thanksgiving was wonderful. We still have a few leftovers, but I get tired of them after 2 days.

No Black Friday for me either!

I don't do Black Friday, either - the idea of it is completely unappealing to me. But I know some people love the thrill of the hunt.

Would Rainbow baby also apply to a bay after a miscarriage? I know it's not the same, but still a loss.

No Black Friday for me. My sister tried to get me to go this year, but I stayed firm!

Congrats for your dear friend. What a blessing she has been given!

Funny about Skye not wanting her picture made! Perhaps she doesn't like the flash? Sounds like she has quite a personality!

I've never heard the term "rainbow baby" before, but I like that. I hope you get lots of "baby sugar" soon!

I do not like to shop whether Black Friday or not. If I do, I go with a purpose and head for the item then I am out of there. Blessings.

I don't do Black Friday either. And, I've never heard of "Rainbow Babies." How sweet! Our daughter, who is 13 weeks pregnant was told by her Dr. last Wed. that her baby had died and she will have a D & C this Tuesday. Totally unexpected for her but we know that something wasn't right and she will go on to have another child later. I'll have to tell her about Rainbow Babies. Happy week!

I actually went to Walmart at midnight! I had a rat on my patio so I ran to the store to get rat poison! It took me 15 minutes to find a parking spot and 10 minutes to find and purchase the poison.

What exciting new for Margaret! Goodness, that's so cool.
