MY APOLOGIES

I read all of my comments from my Gmail account. I don't go to my post to read the comments, I assumed that they are all sent to my email account. Well the other day I went into my Gmail account to delete all the spam mail. I do that when I see there are about 500 sitting there. Well it just so happens it was after my Wednesday Hodgepodge and I noticed some comments sitting in my spam mail. Are you kidding me!

So here is what I found out.  Gmail sends no-reply comments into spam. They don't send them into my blogger account for moderation or into the blog spam. They do however show up on my post page. These are people who I follow who have a blog but because they are no-reply their comments just go into spam mail.

So I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart if I haven't been over to your blog lately. I had no glue you were visiting me. Not that I wouldn't visit you but I have 1,395 blogs in my reader and sometimes I forgot, especially if you are new to me. So why are you a no-reply? In my opinion I like to comment on every comment I receive. That is how I build my friendship with my fellow bloggers.

Here I am thinking you never come over to visit with me. Did you know that by having your email address available it will not change a thing in your world of emails. You won't start getting a bunch of junk mail. What you will do is get my response to your comment and build a meaningful relationship with me. Doesn't that sound heavenly :)

I will start to go into my comments on my post to make sure I don't miss any of you again. I was never the type of person who only visits those who comment on my post. Do you know what I mean? Heck if that were the case blogging would be so easy for me. It would take me only a short time each day to go over and read those who commented! It's okay if you don't visit me every time I post, I get that, but when you do comment I want to comment back! For those people who actually leave a nice comment but are anonymous I would love to get to know you.

So did you know I have stock in Spam. That's right, I worked for Hormel at a Regional Office back in Oak Brook, Illinois back in the 80's. Before that I worked at the Corporate office for Ace Hardware in Oak Brook, Illinois and of course I spent seven years at Hallmark. I always thought it was kinda cool when people asked me where I worked. It was never some off beat place, it has always been a name that people recognized. Ya, I'm cool like that!

Well you must spend a lot of time visiting blogs and then commenting and then responding. Thank you so much for all the help you have given me with computer/blogging issues.
I love Spam! How cool is it that you worked for them! I love it fried up with a egg on top! Low carb too.

You really still have stock in Spam? That's kinda giggly! :)

I didn't realize no reply comments went to Spam. From Gmail's perspective, that makes sense but sheesh!

I didn't realize that the no-reply comments went to Spam. I have my comments sent to a non-Gmail account, but just in case, I'll have to check my Gmail account's Spam Box. I wish everyone would switch from no-reply ... and switch from word verification, too! I would be so much easier for those of us who want to comment and follow up on comments on our blogs. ;-)

I will have to check that out myself. Hummmmm....

I just wrote a piece about spam in a book I'm writing. How cool that you worked there!

I'm so neurotic that I have to clear my email on a daily basis, I can't have anything sitting there, LOL, drives me nuts, same with my spam so that gets cleared pretty much daily; I did notice that a lot of my comments received went into spam; now that makes sense about the no reply ones. I commend you for ocmmenting back when someone comments on your blog, Debby; I rarely if ever do that; it is such a nice touch! It is amazing how many blogs you do follow; I know its a labor of love but I also know it can get so overwhelming!

Stock in SPAM- hahahahaha! I loved SPAM when I was kid. I would probably still like it now but I know better than to eat it. LOL

Oh, I've had this same issue and didn't know why it was happening. Thanks for a nice post explaining it. I do not like "No reply" bloggers at all, so frustrating. Hope you'll get them on the right track with this post. :o)

Happy week!

I didn't know you can send your comments to gmail. How do you do that?

Wow, I never check my gmail spam! I guess I should! Since I moderate my comments, I get all through my mailbox.

I'm not visiting anyone much right now because I have my darlings here! :) They're showering after swimming a bit after a very stormy day!

I think it's kind of cool that you have stock in Spam! I love the stuff and used to make sandwiches with it all the time!

HUMMM I guess because I do not uses gmeil mine do come to my inbox however if they are no reply I can not answer them back. I am pretty sure if you start answering from your blog it will no longer come to our inbox. So some of my blogging friend answer on their own blog and not from email but to see there reply you have to go back to that post. If I am wrong on this let me know, still trying to figure it all out :) I sent MANNNNY reply's to no reply comment bloggers LOL who knows where they went.

I'm wondering if this is something sort of new. I discovered it too about a month ago. All of a sudden some of the people who regularly comment on my blog were turning up as spam. I personally don't get the no reply thing. I like to email right back as well. Sometimes it doesn't make sense to go to their blog and respond to a question or comment in the comments section of their own blog. I haven't had any issues with my email linked to my blog.

Have a good week!

You are so sweet to mention this on your blog - you are a blogger with a great heart. I don't have a gmail account - but glad you found this out.
