WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Thank you Joyce!

1. The Summer Olympics officially begin this Friday night...will you be watching? If you could see just one event in person which one would you pick?
I do plan on watching. I think I would pick gymnastics (always have loved it) although it can make me very nervous like the ice skating does in the Winter Olympics.

2.Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?
Definitely unproductive and that is pretty much how I feel most days! My get up and go left me a few years ago.

3. July 25th is 'officially' Threading the Needle Day...can you sew? On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being not at all and 10 being Betsy Ross-like, how would you rate your skill with a needle and thread?
Let's just say I can sew a button on a shirt so that can only be a "2"  however I did enjoy doing Crewel Embroideries years ago.

4. 'Threding the Needle' can also mean to walk a fine line between two things or issues (think awkward social situation). When was the last time you had to 'thread the needle', figuratively speaking?
No life in complete without awkward social situations but I can't come up with anything right now!

5. Kidney, pinto, black, or navy...your favorite bean?
Black Beans are my all time favorite!

6. Have you ever hosted a garage sale? Was it more success or bust?
I have hosted two garage sales in my life. Each time was with selling a house and moving. I would say they were a success both times. You will never see me going to garage sales, it is not my thing, like shopping at Marshalls I just can't go through stuff like that. When I shop I want organization.

7. What makes you roll your eyes?
Awkward social situations. *hehe* (refer to #4)

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Speaking of Christmas in July....oh we weren't speaking of it were we. (sillly me)  Well it is on my mind since it is only 5 months away from Christmas Day today. I suddenly remembered this about a week ago, that I had planned on buying two smaller trees this year to hold my 800+ ornaments. (I have been saying 800+ for three years now when it has to be 900+ now but that just sounds crazy to me so I am sticking to my 800+ and keeping away from being the crazy ornament lady!)

So I have searched for about a week at my favorite places online. Hey Balsam Hills it top of the line when it comes to pre-lite artificial trees. Anyway, even their 50% off is still very pricey. I have been kinda bummed about it. Then I got an email from QVC about Christmas in July and they showed a tree that was looking pretty good to me and I thought the price would be pretty pleasing to Mark. So I looked at it online and thought it was pretty nice with features that I like but I had to wait to see the demonstration on TV Saturday morning so I got up at 5am to do that. (FYI: I was a heavy QVC shopper about 15 years ago and had to stop watching)

So I liked it. Praying that I still like it in person. I ordered one multi color and one clear. I will miss my 9ft tree for its Grandeur but I know that the two 6 1/2 ft. trees will be better suited for me to decorate without getting up and down the ladder. They were at a special Christmas in July price last weekend so what better time to buy them!

Debby, blessings to you.

5 am? Anything for a bargain, right? Hope the trees work out for you! I agree with you on the shopping. I don't like to waste my time digging through things that have no organization!

I think it is hilarious to see a christmas tree in July... why is it that they look so much prettier when they are not in season?

Crazy ornament lady- LOL That's too funny! I'm glad you won't be climbing a ladder anymore to decorate your tree! Oh geez- only 5 months til Christmas? Are you kidding me?! ARGH!!! I've got to get busy- :)

I had to laugh at the sewing thing! I'm a -1 ......if I have to sew a button, I fuss like crazy, even though I used to cross stitch all the time! Those days are long past!

I don't watch QVC because I potentially think everything is great and I need to buy it! You have the greatest ornament collection and I know yours will be elegant on two trees!!! Are you placing them in the same room?

I hope you like the trees, too! They sounds nice.

I'm hoping to watch the Olympics with Lily this year. She has become quite a good swimmer, so I want to watch swimming with her. And of course gymnastics is always fun to watch!

I hope you like the new trees, but that big tree is just gorgeous!

It's Christmas in July all over digital scrapbook land, so I'm right here with you "speaking of Christmas in July!" I'll be Christmas scrapping tonight for sure!

So many people have mentioned black beans today that I'm dying for some black bean soup! That may very well be dinner tonight here!

On my laziest days I watch TV, not very often. On normal lazy days, I scrap all day and that's relaxing but it also saves me from feeling unproductive.

I looked at the calendar this morning and did realize Christmas was five months from now; where did this year go? I'm with you; I like to watch the gymnastics too at the Olympics. Such grace and talent they have!

We had a lot of the same answers- gymnastics, black beans, garage sales. Your Christmas trees are beautiful and I am sure they bring much joy to those who see them.

So you're not a garage sale-er but you are a QVC-er : )
That's a lot of ornaments!

I would like to find one of those very tall, super skinny trees for my foyer. Not sure how I'd decorate it but its something I'd like to have for the space.

Happy Wednesday!

Your tree is beautiful!!! I'm sure the 2 6 1/2 foot ones will be too. Hope you show us pictures this winter.

Gymnastics make me nervous too! Like, close my eyes sometimes b/c I'm afraid they will fall nervous - same with horse racing! I don't know why, but I am always worried that a horse will trip and fall!

Let's see. I am going to watch a new event - Tae Kwang Do.
I like navy beans.
And your tree is so gorgeous but I think two trees will show off the ornaments more. Maybe you will need three soon.
The last photo what is the tree on - carpet or patio - very pretty.

Oh! I've always admired the Christmas trees on QVC! I hope yours are pleasing to you when they arrive :) I can't watch much QVC either, or I end up spending too much money...

I know what you mean about climbing on the ladder to decorate. I'm in the final years of using our 7 1/2 foot tree, and it will be sad to eventually downsize, even though I need to.

Gymnastics all the way!!
Hope the Christmas tree works out for you:)

a 9-foot tree? That's a tall tree! I think it would be safer and less hassle not to have to climb a ladder to decorate a tree. I hope you'll share pictures of your trees all decorated this December. ;-)

I will not be watching the Olympics.

Wow you are so gonna be ready for Christmas if you are gearing up already.

what a beautiful tree...I so love the holidays in July or whenever!! Everytime I watch the olympics I sorta feel inadequate...they are so good at that stuff!!

I'm a black bean lover too! And threading the needle - I LOVE that phrase- sooooo true!

That is a lot of ornaments !! How very cool! When we were moving once all our ornaments were lost and I was crushed because some my family had for 25yrs and then in a blink... gone. My mom loved QVC :) They have some great things and great prices. Happy decorating!
