WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 172 - Thank you Joyce!
Join in, what are you waiting for?

1. April showers bring May flowers or so the saying goes. Are you blooming where you're planted as we begin the month of May?

We have flowers blooming here but we have that pretty much year round. Our tomatoes are going crazy! If you want to know if I'm blooming the answer would be no.

2. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being no big deal, and 10 being full scale panic, rank your fear of spiders.

I am probably a five. I am scared of them but not so afraid that I won't kill them! Of course it's because someone else in the house is a 10 and won't kill them.

3. May is National Salad Month (who knew?)...besides lettuce, what are two must-have ingredients in your favorite salad?

I love hard boiled eggs and avocado.

4. I mentioned on my blog last week that my Daughter1 will be moving to Washington State after she is married. Of the following sites in the Northwest, which would you most like to see in person-Crater Lake (Oregon), Seattle (Washington), Vancouver (British Columbia), San Juan Islands (Washington),  Mt. Rainer (Washington) Oregon Coast (Oregon), Mt. St. Helens (Washington), or Olympic National Park (Washington)

I think I'm going to pick the Oregon Coast.

5. This coming weekend marks the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby...when did you last race (literally or figuratively) to cross a finish line?

Probably on Easter getting all the items on the table at the same time.

6. What is something little you love?

My dog Skye........

7. Would you say you are more of a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner? Elaborate.

I'm pretty sure I am a visual learner but kinesthetic would probably work for me too.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

This is for my husband and it should be me holding the umbrella. I asked him to please let me be with him when he goes to by his new car. Last time he did it without me. Well guess who bought a new car on Monday and who wasn't there with him! All my joy and excitement for him having a new car was stolen from me because he made me angry.

Debby, I'm hoping your invitation to join in includes answering the questions in my comment. (If not, well, I guess you can delete this!!)

1. I'm not blooming, but I am hoping that the Lord is preparing me for new growth!
2. Maybe a 3 or 4, but I do ask my hubby to kill them.
3. Croutons and bacon bits. Yes, the least healthy additions. Don't judge me!!
4. Tough one - maybe Olympic National Park.
5. Maybe moving out of our house after 29 years of pack-ratting. Moved out practically the last hour of the last day of escrow!
6. Oh yeah - my grandbeagle Marty.
7. Visual. I learn mostly by reading. And some good TV (is there such a thing?!)
8. Love means never having to say you're sorry (remember that line from the movie Love Story?). Silly thought. Love means being able to admit you're mad, but making up later. Often by being the first one to say, "I'm sorry."

XO

#6 - of course! =)
I forgot about boiled eggs, love them in my salad.
I would be mad about the new car too! =/

I'm a hands-on learner. Reading the directions always comes last! I love those crunchy croutons in my salad.

Debbie said...

Hands on learner over here, but only after a visual. What does that make me? lol And yes your hubby not including you deserves a good pout, but I LOVE your picture. Can't wait to show my hubby that, lol. It is soo us sometimes. Enjoy your day!

I try real hard to never eat a salad.. yuck
i am a 10 on spider hate and so is hubby but he will kill them for me because i will not get close enough to do the job...
Skye is so darn cute!
I am hands on learner, show me once and i can do it, but read it or listen in a class and i am stumped.

we buy our cars together but we fight like cats and dogs, loud voices, sighs, lots of fireworks. have never bought one without the fireworks.

Sorry you missed out on the purchase of your hubby's new car, Debby. Chris would rather I not tag along when he buys a car...I'm far too impatient with the sales people.

Average spiders - I'm a 3
Large, hairy spiders - I'm a 9
Scorpions - I'm definitely a 10!

Nearly every time I find a scorpion in the house, Hubby Man isn't at home, so I have to kill the nasty beast myself - screaming while I'm doing it!

Nancy Face said...

Hubby Man wouldn't want to go and buy a new car without me, because I'm the one who is tough on the salesmen, and I can get them to give me the best deal! (If they won't budge, I have no problem walking out!)

I agree with all your answers! I'm not blooming either...I didn't write that only because my parents read my blog and they would assume I'm depressed! lol! I'm depressed about the lack of sun and constant rain! I'd be a little miff at my hubby too! Have a wonderful wednesday!

I love hardboiled eggs in my salad as well. I somehow forgot about it when answering.

I love that cartoon! It wouldn't even have needed the text, since the picture really says it all.

I love ruccola in my salad. It has a very strong taste and I love it. And tomato and cucumber, hard boiled egg, perhaps a few strips of bacon. Ooh, I am salivating now!

Love that cartoon - and your darling dog. What a cutie!! Also love avocado on a salad. You can keep my share of the egg. :-)

Ug. So sorry your Hubby didn't hear you! I think men sometimes have a one track mind when it comes to cars :( #boo

That is too bad about the car, Debby; I know you would have enjoyed the process with him, selecting it, test driving it, etc. What did he get?

I know what you mean about not blooming where you are planted; I struggle with that a lot myself.

Who can resist hard boiled eggs or avocados? I love both whether they are on a salad or not :)

I like hard boiled eggs but not a lot in salads. I never had avocado in salad.

Hope you are having a good day.

My hubby gets mad at me because I have picked out all of our cars but one. He gets to pick the next one.I do most of the driving so I pick one that suits me best.

Sorry for your disappointment...those hubbys can bless us more than anyone else, but they can hurt us more, too.So much of the time...they don't even know they are doing it. I speak form experience!! ha! ha!

Hard to go wrong with salads, in my book, although I don't care for raw onions.

Sorry about the car incident. :(

Tami said...

Tomatoes?? Tomatoes?!! Oh, how I long for fresh garden tomatoes!! The ones at the grocery store are mushy and pink. Not like ones I grow in the summer. Are you game for shipping me some? ;-)

Aw, Debby, I'm so sorry your hubby didn't honor your wish to go with him to purchase the car :( I'd be angry and hurt, too.
Sending ((hugs)) your way today.

PS I love the picture of Skye!

I hate when I have to put my big girl pants on and be the one to kill a spider or whatever the bug is. Have to do that often being a mom! I'd be mad at my hubby too and that would definitely kill the excitement about the purchase. I can see why you love Skye. What a cutie!

Deb said...

I love avacados...we eat tons of them...Skye is precious!not a fan of spiders...

Hi Debby! I am so sad that your husband didn't take you to the car place with him. That would have been fun. I know that men are funny about their cars...wonder why?

I am trying like crazy to bloom where I'm planted. I think i'll get there eventually. On my salad, I like candied walnuts or pecans, blue cheese and apples. Pretty much takes all the nutrition and throws it out the window :)
But it does get me to eat my greens.
Thinking of you today,
Ceil

Not much is blooming here, yet...Daffodils and a few tulips. There are buds on the trees but no leaves. Sorry, that you missed out on the purchase of your husbands New car. Big hugs.

Always enjoy reading your answers Debby. I'd like to visit the Oregon Coast too. Our vacation in Seattle and Vancouver was a great time. I would live there but Ann likes the sun too much. :)

LOL Love that picture at the end!:) SO very true! I hope you BOTH enjoy his new ride!

Oh me too on the avocados and boiled eggs. Actually - I eat those as a stand alone snack pretty frequently. I like pepper and lemon juice on my avocados and salt on my boiled eggs. They are great snacks that stick with you.
