MOVIE MONDAY

On October 1st I went to see "This Is Where I Leave You." This movie has a great cast of characters and I really enjoyed it. This is a comedy-drama so you laugh and you cry. It's not always easy being under the same roof with your family for a week!
"When their father passes away, four grown siblings are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. (IMDb)"

On October 2nd I went to see "The Skeleton Twins."I am a fan of both of the people in this movie so I knew I wanted to see it. I knew this wasn't going to be an easy one to watch since it deals with depression. It was very good and of course emotional. I am glad I saw it!
"Having both coincidentally cheated death on the same day, estranged twins reunite with the possibility of mending their relationship. (IMDb)"

On October 8th I went to see "Left Behind"with Nicholas Cage. I actually read several of the books in the Left Behind series. This movie was good but I think the version that Kirk Cameron was in was a little better.
"A small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction. (IMDb)"

On October 10th Mark and I went to the show to see "The Equalizer" with Denzel Washington. This movie was very good and of course there was a lot of action. With action often comes a lot of killings and blood which this one definitely had!
"A man believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can't stand idly by - he has to help her. (IMDb)"

On October 14th I went to see "The Good Lie" with Reese Witherspoon and it was very good. This movie has you crying often both with sadness and also with a big smile on your face. I am so glad I went to see this one.
"Sudanese refugees given the chance to resettle in America arrive in Kansas, where their encounter with employment agency counselor forever changes all of their lives. (IMDb)"

On October 21st I went to see "Gone Girl" which I thought was a good movie. I didn't know anything about it going in. It was very intense. I thought Ben Affleck was excellent. I certainly didn't expect it to end the way it did!
"With his wife's disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it's suspected that he may not be innocent. (IMDb)"

On October 22nd I went to see Men, Women & Children. I had seen a trailer on this and thought it would be interesting. I thought it had a great cast of people that I liked also. Obviously I was interested in how the Internet has changed our world.

During the first part of the movie I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to handle the sexual part about the Internet. It certainly isn't something I am a fan of but as the movie continued I understand why they had to show it. They followed the lives of several families and I ended up really liking this movie.
"A group of high school teenagers and their parents attempt to navigate the many ways the Internet has changed their relationships, their communication, their self-image, and their love lives. (IMDb)"

I want to see Gone Girl because I've read the book, and I'm curious if it ends the same way!

I haven't seen any of these movies. We usually only see a couple of movies in a year - at most, maybe four. I had forgotten about The Good Lie and think that would be a good one to see. Recently I saw a very good movie - The 100 Foot Journey.
Thanks for the reviews. Some of these I've never heard of.

I have not seen any of the movies yet. We don't go to movie theaters, but often wait until they come out on DVD.

We rarely go to the movies, but choose to catch them at home, when they hit Netflix of On Demand. I'll remember a few of these and watch for them! Thanks for the reviews!

You are a crazy movie fan! That's so cool. I always appreciate your remarks, and it helps me decide what I might want to watch.

Thank you. Shall we call you Roger Ebert, Jr.???

I want to see This is where .... you. I may even go by myself.

Left Behind is a Christian show and being acted by N. Cage?? Not all that believable to me.

Also want to see the Equalizer.

When do you see all these?

Thanks for the reviews. I have not had much time lately for movies and hopefully Frank and I will get a date night to go see at least one of the ones you suggested.

I would like to see `The Good Lie`
I had not heard of `This Is Where I Leave You`
It sounds like a good movie.

Hubby took me to a movie today and would you believe they didn't run it today.
They actually played the Florida/Georgia football game, live on the big screen.
