WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE ~ VOLUME 200

~ VOLUME 200 ~
Thank you Joyce for your dedication
and hard work each week!

1. What is something in your life right now that feels a little 'hodgepodge'?
My emotions. Not quite feeling Christmas yet and I'm thinking it is because after Christmas day Adam & Tristen take off to Pittsburgh to start their new life. (Crying while I typed that)

2. What does 'peace on earth, goodwill to men' mean to you?
Love for everyone.....

3. Which edible treat you are most looking forward to sampling this December?
Some of my baked goods!

4. It's that most wonderful time of the year...do you agree, and if so why is it so wonderful?  If not, what would you say is the most wonderful !
Yes I agree....first the birth of Jesus, the traditions we continue to follow each year, the gathering of friends and family, the awesome treats we bake and the movies.....I love the Christmas movies!

5. What was the last word you looked up in a dictionary (actual or online) and why?
I'm not sure......

6. Besides a Christmas tree, what is your favorite thing to decorate this time of year?
The whole house including the fireplace mantle.

7. Share one thing you've learned (about yourself, people, or anything at all) in the Wednesday Hodgepodge, or through blogging in general.
Great question! How similar we all are. I have also embraced the way we can share in each other's joys and sorrows. I love all of you so very much, you mean the world to me.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
Sorry I haven't been around much. Did have Internet connection at my MIL's home but hanging with family has been at the top of my list.

As I type this Mark and I are in San Antonio. A quick overnight trip so he could attend a conference this morning.

Did the Riverwalk yesterday and boat ride to near freezing temperatures! Also toured The Alamo.

Had a great dinner at The Palm. Heading back to moms in a few hours. Then we leave tomorrow, late afternoon, to head back to California.

My lungs are starting to feel the affects of pushing myself a little too hard......

I hope all the rain in CA that is on the news today is not where you are returning to.. i wish i were Jeanne or Samantha so i could twitch my nose and decorate. i like looking at it but not doing it.. i don't have a favorite treat since I would eat a stick if it has sugar on it.. all treats are my favorite, which might just be the cause of the weight problem.. LOL

Take care of yourself, Debby, since especially you'll be flying soon! I can't believe it is time for Adam/Tritan to move already! It seems like she just got the job; the time just went too fast! I know you'll miss them even though you know its a great opportunity for them.

I'm glad you are enjoying the time with the family!

Too bad the Riverwalk was in such cold weather. I've never been to San Antonio, but have heard that it's beautiful. Sounds like you need to be careful to get enough rest and maybe not be in such cold temps? Always hard to see loved ones leave, isn't it.

Bless your heart, Debby...I know you will miss your son and Tristen when they move away. You know I completely understand. Sending hugs your way.

I know you'll miss your son. ;( I am sure he'll visit from time to time, i know that isn't the same.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Are you getting a lot of rain as well??

Debby, I'm sure this will be a bitter-sweet Christmas. Our guys still live at home, we sometimes wish they had their own place. However, I can imagine a piece of your heart will go when your son and Tristen move. (((HUGS))))

Hi Debbie. I haven't hodgepodged in a while and have missed you.
Take care of yourself and don't push too hard. The Alamo must have been amazing!

Hope you enjoyed your trip to Texas!

That would be a fun Hodgepodge question....what's your favorite Christmas movie?

Hope you have a safe trip home.

I always think of you, Debby, as I drag out my Christmas decorations. I know you love it as much as I do!

I feel your pain about Adam and Tristan's move. It will get better with time. I almost died when 'my baby' moved away two years ago, but I'm okay with it now.

Your trip sounds fun. Enjoy!

#7 hit me, and I so agree with you. I really love about the blog community that it brings together diverse people and it doesn't matter that you don't agree on everything - there is still just a remarkable feeling of love and support. I treasure that.

I always look forward to your answers. I had to piggy back comments on you....for some reason my computer at work would not let me comment normally.

Don't start on Christmas movies! I have (latest count) over 280 both on dvd and recorded from television and I know there will be at least another 20 coming soon. I feel I might need to stop working to watch them all (although there are some real turkeys amongst them).

Your travels sound fun. Hope your lungs catch up.

I hear you on the little cloud of having your son leave after Christmas. Our daughter met someone when she went away to college 12 years ago, married him and has been there ever since. We still miss her. Enjoy them while you can.

Don't push yourself too hard, lady. We want you around and healthy for a long, long time! Silly me had no idea that it gets cold in Texas. My geography skills are horrible. I'm surprised I even know where Texas is. LOL Still waiting on people who can go into the attic to do so and get down a few things. If they don't get to it tomorrow, no decorations. And I mean it. And yes, I am stomping my foot. LOL

I'm trying to push myself into the Christmas spirit also.

My prayers are with you as they move away. LOves.

I wish I was there and could give you a hug - I totally understand how you feel - it hurts when kids move - it gets better - but I have to tell you it always hurts a little - i know.
