WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 257
Head on over and join in!!!
Thank you Joyce

1. February ended with an extra 24 hours in 2016. What did you do with your bonus day?

Finished watching Fuller House on Netflix and watched the movie 99 Homes on DVD. I have a tendency to be extremely lazy and I think I made the most of that on the 29th!

2. What's something in your life that's grown by leaps and bounds in recent days, weeks, months, or years? I'm giving you lots of room to come up with an answer here, so no fair passing on this one.

My lack of passion for the things that I love. (FYI: I'm not looking for sympathy here!)

3. Do you read reviews about a film before deciding if you'll see it? Did you watch The Oscars this year, and if so your thoughts on the program? How many of the Best Picture nominees had you seen prior to the broadcast? (Spotlight, The Martian, The Big Short, The Revenant, Mad Max: Fury Road, Room, and Brooklyn) If you watched The Oscars who gets your award for 'best dressed'?

No I never read reviews. I know for a fact that several of the best movies I have ever seen had terrible reviews!!! We did however watch Siskel and Ebert years ago.

If you know me you know I watched the Oscar's. It was a good show but it certainly was far from being the best I've seen.

Yes I did see all the nominated Best Movies although I had trouble with Mad Max. Not my kind of movie at all. I was rather surprised it was up for Best Picture. Obviously the Academy liked it and it took the most awards Sunday night.

I don't pay a lot of attention to the dresses or red carpet stuff. I did feel that everyone looked very nice and were tastefully dressed.

4. When did you last have overnight houseguests? Give us your top three tips on being a good houseguest.

With Amber living here for almost six years now it has been a long time since we have been able to have house guests. Of course we had Adam with Tristen at Christmas but that really doesn't count.

As far as being a house guest I have only stayed with family. Obviously I like to keep things neat and clean when I'm staying there

5. March 2nd is Peanut Butter Lover's Day. Will you be celebrating? If so, would you prefer a home made peanut butter cookie, a Reese's peanut butter cup, an old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich, or shall I just hand you a jar and a tablespoon?

I'm not sure that I will celebrate because I have overindulged with some peanut butter cups lately! It would be a peanut butter cup for sure or peanut butter M&M's,

6. Why is failure important? Or isn't it?

Nobody likes failure but I do believe we learn a lot when we fail at something!

7. Share with us one fun thing on your March calendar.

I have nothing on my calendar at this time :(  I'm sure we will have a nice Easter dinner here at the house.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Did you like Fuller House? I've seen mixed reviews. I don't have Netflix so probably won't see it anytime soon. Yes, on Reeses cups... I was thinking of one last night. :)

I confess that it stresses me out having overnight guests. I think I'm a bit of a hermit when it comes to that.

I am all of the above on the peanut butter love. Peanut butter is second only to a hamburger in my favorites list. i could live on just those and nothing else. not counting boomerang kids as house guests, 2005 one person for one night. we don't stay with others and we don't like others with us... in 31 years of marraige we have had overnight guest on 5 overnight guests one night each. we are both hermits like Lisa

my rule of thumb of which movies to watch doesn't include reading reviews for the same reason as yours. and the 2nd is if a movie won an Oscar I don't watch it because i know i will not like it...

I haven't seen Fuller House, and if I do watch I'd like my girls to be beside me. I heard it wasn't very good. What did you think?

I like your random :) That would be a good one if that could happen! I haven't seen Fuller House; in fact I just heard about it recently. Few other commenters mentioned it too; maybe you'll need to do a review about it? Do you like it?

I honestly prefer to stay in a hotel rather than stay at someone's house as a guest. I like to be on my own schedule and come and go as we please; when we would stay with hubby's parents when we visited, it was always stressful trying to coordinate schedules, etc. We are going to have one of the bedrooms be a guest room, but I'm thinking its not going to be used too much as one, other than for those nights when neither one of us can sleep and now we come onto the couch, I imagine then we'll go into that room.

I don't usually read reviews either. I might for a book, but rarely a movie.

We recently got rid of Netflix and now I'm kicking myself because "Fuller House" is available. I want to see it so badly! I really loved your random thought...wouldn't that be great? Hope your Wednesday is a good one, Debby!

Yes to your random thought :) My kids told me about Fuller House but we haven't seen it yet. Chocolate and peanut butter are the best combo. Happy Wednesday :)

Good morning! Just heard the other day that Fuller House was on Netflix so I will be watching it soon I am sure, lol. Yes, I figured you had watched the Oscars and so was curious to think what you thought. I was surprised at the amount of awards Mad Max won. I had not seen it, nor had I even heard of it to tell you the truth. And the clips they showed made me think I doubt I could even sit through it, lol. The academy does pick some weird ones some time. Have a good week!

I LOVE peanut butter,
I think when we get older THINGS are just not as important as they used to be - other real things takes president.
You see lots of movies - you review them here.
What is Fuller House?
Being lazy is good once in awhile.

Love your "random". I think I saw that on Facebook. Pretty cute.

I understand what you mean about losing your passion for the things you love. It's funny how we change with age...or maybe not! Speaking of aging, I love your random thought for today :) Ha Ha

Interesting #2, m'friend! I had to think about that one (since reading EARLY this morning). Perhaps waning passion is just one of those stages we all go through ... sad, sometimes. The way we were.

I love your random thought - trouble is I'd need to be two sizes (at least) smaller to start with to have any hope of fitting in the dryer! lol

Peanut butter chips. Aren't they delicious. I always eat the hard outside edge first all around and lastly, make my way to the middle. How about you? Loved that poster at the end. I just found a book that certainly reignited my passion for Christian living. All it took was reading the sample of Subversive Christianity by Brian J.Walsh at Amazon and I had to purchase the kindle version immediately.

That was supposed to be cups, not chips. Predictive texting...

Trying to get back into Blogging, have missed your posts! I still haven't checked out Fuller House but my girls and their families have been watching. Big hugs Deb.

Ha, ha, I would love to be wrinkle free and two sizes smaller! My age just keeps creeping up on me! The only movie I saw is The Martian, and I enjoyed it a lot, but the book was better. ;)

Debby, I have to say I love the very last saying the most!!! I'd love to be wrinkle free and a size smaller. Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

I'm not looking for sympathy either, and I'm right there with you on 1-4. I have to watch out to avoid playing the victim.

Since Leap Day fell on a Monday, I didn't have much choice except to go to work as usual. But it's not really a day I notice much anyway.
