WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 170
Thank you Joyce!

1. April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes. When did you last 'shower' attention on someone or have attention 'showered' on you? Did you love it, or did all that attention make you squirm?

We showered attention on Tristen recently to celebrate her birthday. I am not one who is comfortable being showered on by friends but I welcome the attention from my husband when it happens.

2. Share a favorite 'spring break' memory. Not talking about just the 'college spring break' thing, but any favorite spring break memory you'd like to share. Keep it family friendly please!

I don't remember us doing anything special with the kids for Spring break other than getting excited for Easter. Now of course Spring break is seldom attached to Easter week!

3. It's National Pecan Month...are you a fan? If so, what's your favorite dish that calls for pecans?

Yes I am a fan, I love Pecans. I actually just like eating them as they are but I have always enjoyed Pecan Tassies. My mom always made those since I was a young girl and I usually make them for Christmas.

4.  'Put all your eggs in one basket', 'egg on your face', 'rotten egg', 'walk on eggshells', or 'a good egg'...which egg-spression could most recently be applied to your own life?

I'm walking on eggshells most of the time!

5.  In my experience, you get what you pay for !

6. What's a  favorite song with the word rain in its title or lyrics?

"Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head"

7. What does the word hope mean to you?

It means everything to me, it is what gets me through the hard times. It means having faith in God and His blessing for my future. My husband says I'm too optimistic, I say I'm hopeful!

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Because I have nothing....

  1. Gordon Lightfoot! How can anyone not like that song? I also like "Here Comes the Rain Again" (Eurhythmics),

I used to pick up pecans for a farmer who had an orchard, and get paid by the pound for my work. I love pecans - plain, in brownies, in salads, in pecan-crusted salmon...

  3. I'm not very comfortable with too much attention, either. ;-)

  4. Another terrific post! I don't like being in the lime-light. I love Pecan pie, and around one certain member of our family, I always feel like I have to walk on eggshells. That person lives out of state, however, so the contact is minimal.

  6. I love your last picture, Debby; too cute! I can imagine you do walk on a lot of eggshells, but I am glad that you do have hope; I think life can be so much more better just having that hope!

We never did much with the kids on spring break either when we lived in California because the weather is usually so fine and there are things to do here, but I know when we were living in Montana, "everyone" went away for spring break since the weather was so cold, so they went warm places. We never did though, stayed put and found some fun activities to do there.

    I too enjoy pecans!

  25. Loved "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head". BJ Thomas was one of my favorite singers. And Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was such a fun movie.
