We made it to Orlando without any issues to speak of. A little delay here and there but arrived everywhere on time. Had a delicious meal at Cat Cora's Kitchen at Houston Airport Terminal E, I highly recommend it!
United is now using smaller planes out of Ontario, CA which meant that there are just two seats on each side of the isle. So I had a window seat which was nice since Mark was next to me. I always sit on the isle when I can!!!
What I want to share is Mark's flight on Friday. I had posted about it on Facebook. He was scheduled to fly out of Savannah, GA at 6:30 am and arrive in Ontario, CA around 3:00 pm. He would have three flights to get home.
First flight was delayed and didn't take off until 1:00 pm. Luckily he hadn't left the hotel yet! So that flight flew to Chicago. Then from Chicago he was catching a flight to Houston but that flight was delayed so they put him on a flight to San Francisco.
The San Francisco flight had mechanical problems and was delayed so he ended up getting a flight to LAX. So from LAX he had to took a limo to Ontario Airport to get his car. He arrived home around 1:30 am Saturday morning.
Of course his luggage went to Houston and he was told he could pick it up at Ontario. It would be on the first flight out of Houston Saturday morning. Well we had Tristen's graduation so we decided to go pick it up afterwards on our way home.
Now keep in mind the we were not very far from LAX being at Adam & Tristen's in Los Angeles. So we arrive at Ontario around 5:30 pm and guess what???? His luggage was sent to LAX !!! We were flying out of Ontario on Sunday so he really wanted his luggage.
Well his luggage arrived at our home at 1:30 am Sunday morning. They sent a driver with it from LAX. Isn't that just crazy? Long story short....he was able to unpack, pack and the rest is history!

Oh my goodness. Take care.
ReplyDeletewow his luggage travels even more than he does...what a crazy trip...

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - that was quite an ordeal!
ReplyDeletewhat a mess! glad your flight was better!
ReplyDeleteWhat a HEADACHE!!! :)
ReplyDeletePoor Mark!! I bet he was so glad to get home and then equally glad when the luggage arrived!
ReplyDeletebetty
That is crazy about the luggage! I was so scared on our trip that we packed extra stuff in our carryons just in case. We were really lucky with our flights to Disney. On the way there it was direct so that wasn't an issue, but we had a connection thru Atlanta on our way home. After my experience in Atlanta last spring, I was a bit scared, but we didn't have a single issue!
ReplyDeletei am speechless over this story..
ReplyDeleteTalk about a whirlwind story! Just glad all ended well!
ReplyDeleteToo crazy ... and it is one of the reasons we don't fly (of course, that does restrict our travel destinations, but since our destination of choice is Hilton Head [a 13 hour drive], we're ok with that).
ReplyDeleteFlying makes me so nervous.
ReplyDeleteSorry about his luggage. What a mess.

Seems like delays. cancellations and lost luggage are more common these days.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, what a mess that was! Glad it all worked out OK.
