WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 183
Thank you Joyce
Join us each Wednesday!

1. When I look at the sky I feel__________________.
Peace, even on a cloudy day......

2. If you had to run for political office, which one would you run for? Do you have any real desire to actually do this?
President....go big or go home!  No I have no desires at all.

3. What scent makes you think of home?
Pine and a fresh Christmas tree. There is no place like home for the holiday's. Thinking about this maybe it's the smell of turkey in the over.....that always takes us home!

4. How often do you take a step back to think about where you're headed in life? Do you need more or less self-reflection?
Ever since I turned 60 a few years ago I step back all the time. Right now I need a lot more self-reflection!

5. July is National Ice Cream Month...besides a cone, what's your favorite food item to top with ice cream?
I would have to say a slice of pie or a brownie.

6. What might your autobiography be called?

Come Along For the Ride of My Life:
The up, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and all
the lessons I've learned along the way!

7. Your least favorite mode of transportation? Why?
Planes, trains, automobiles and buses are all okay with me. I don't care to fly but it's the best way to get across the country. If time were not an issue I might prefer one of the others.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
Some days you just need to change your routine so on Monday I went to get a much needed pedicure, shopped for the last time at Coldwater Creek and spent the rest of the day at an Indian Casino.

  1. Wow, I'm NEVER the first commenter!

Ice cream on blackberry pie, that's my vote.

I used to love to fly over all other modes of transportation, but it sure has gotten less pleasant.

  2. Hey Debby, maybe we could be co-presidents! LOL

I agree, sometimes it's good to get out of our routine and do something a little different. Glad you enjoyed changing up your yours!

Great title for your autobiography! Life is certainly like a roller coaster, at times, isn't it?

  6. I didn't realize Coldwater Creek was going out of business, but I haven't shopped there in a bit. It did seem like you had a good Monday, Debby, just to get out and do what you wanted to do :)

Cute name for a book, it could be an interesting story I do think! Most of our lives I guess could be described like that too.

    Yum on your dessert!

  7. Go big or go home! I like it : ) Christmas is a good answer, the smells of Christmas do make me think of home too. I need a pedi, but am putting it off until right before we head to the beach. I love one anytime of course!

  8. Hi Debby! President? Hey, why not? I like your 'go big or go home', so true. Why mess around.
I really feel the need for more self-reflection these days too. I think some of the busyness of raising the family has gone, and now you've got time to THINK!

I'll take brownies with ice cream any day of the week. Yum... I need a pedi ASAP. You have inspired me to get that done :)

  12. #3 makes me a bit homesick. :::sigh::: if only my parents were here on earth once again to have the entire family home for Christmas.

Now, I'm wondering...do you live in AZ where there are casinos? I lived in Tucson when first retired and used to go quite often.

  13. I love the thought of Christmas trees and Thanksgiving dinner in the oven. Very comforting scents. I may have to give in and get a pedicure some day soon!

  18. Hi Debby! Thanks for stopping by my Hodgepodge today! I enjoyed yours, and think your change of routine for a Monday sounds like a good time, indeed! I hate that Coldwater Creek closed! Love the outlet in Orlando.

  19. Love the book title!! So how did you do at the casino? Do you play cards or slots or both?

  20. President Debby? I'd vote for you! I would never consider running for public office, politics do not interest me. As for those homey smells? I love cinnamon and balsam fir. My favorite food to top with ice cream? The first scoop!! LOL! Least favorite mode of transportation would have to be boats - I get really seasick.

And, the title of my life? "She Really Tried."

    Love sharing Wednesday with you!

    GOD BLESS!

  21. I like ice cream on warm apple crisp. I have to fly when I go see my daughter in Alaska, but as someone mentioned above, flying is not so pleasant anymore.

  22. Hi there! I know most of us aren't wild about planes and the airports make it more difficult. I do wish some flight attendants were friendlier, the Hawaiian airlines was like heaven! I'd fly with them again in a heartbeat.
I think a brownie with ice cream is too rich! I do like it with warm apple crisp or blackberry cobbler, i posted a photo of the cobbler i made a year ago.

  25. What a great autobiography title! I love to fly, but I hate all the stuff before and after. So, I've been driving a lot to places I'd prefer to fly. lol

  30. working backwards here...LOVE the Maxwell quote and it's SO true! Did you win or lose? How come you shopped "for the last time at Coldwater Creek"? like the working title of your bio -grin-. I know where I'm headed just not sure how to do/finish all I want before I take the last breath.
