Thank you Joyce :)

1. The best part of waking up is_________.
Well there is no "Folger's in my cup" because I'm not much of a coffee or tea person. I think I'm going to say the best part is that God has given me another day to live!

2.  Given a choice, which animal interaction would you most like to experience (or for those non-adventurers...which would you dislike the least?)Swim with the dolphins at one of several locations in the Florida Keys, a lion encounter ten minutes from Victoria Falls (Africa), or a day at a remote base camp high in the Big Sur wilderness via the Ventana Wildlife Society helping track California condors?
I would love to go to Africa but I don't want the encounter with the lion! I am going to say Big Sur tracking the California condors.

3. What is something you fear about 'old age'? What is something you look forward to?
Well the older we get the older adults in the family that we love start to pass away. Actually there are very few left in our family. I don't like that we are the next seniors of the family. Obviously I fear not having good health because I already struggle with COPD. I've been home for several years now but I am looking forward to Mark retiring and us moving to a smaller place in a different state.

4. Hot sauce...are you a fan? If you answered yes, what's something you make/eat that must have hot sauce? On a scale of 1-10 how hot is too hot?
I don't actually use hot sauce except in my chili.

5. It's been said that children learn what they live. What do you think children learn at your house?
I'm not convinced that is true but I do know that I taught my children not to be prejudice because I wasn't brought up with any pre-existing prejudice's.

6. What's your favorite movie with a number in it's title?
One Fine Day is a favorite of mine. I also enjoyed One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Robin Williams movie One Hour Photo was a good one too! (IMBd)

7. Saturday (August 16th) is National Tell a Joke Day...share one here.
I never remember jokes that I hear verbally so I hope this counts.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I've been feeling a little blue lately and have been having trouble putting my heart into reading blogs. I'm okay so you don't need to worry about me. Just wanted you to know I will be around to visit when I can.

  4. I don't do coffee in the morning either. The caffeine doesn't really agree with me. Just being able to get up is a good thing in the morning.

  5. Well, I am debating doing this one, as a lot of our answers would be about the same. Nothing wrong with that, just don't want to steal your ideas.

I would love to swim with the dolphins or manatee's.

I have been thinking a lot lately about the fact our older adults are passing away and we're next. What legacy am I leaving...
Also, I have diabetes, what will my health be like.

I like hot sauce on very few things, like chili.

I am sorry your feeling blue.
    I'll be praying for you.
I love the quote by Hannah.

  6. Had to chuckle at the mirror joke. I have thought that sometimes (honest!) when I catch an unguarded glance of myself in a mirror or store window..."WHO is that old woman?" haha Sorry your feeling a little down...I hate that. Praying you perk back up soon!

  8. I am sorry you area feeling blue. Hopefully it will go away and that you can deal with it.

I agree I am glad to just wake up in the morning. And for that cup of coffee!

  9. I'm not a coffee drinker either, but the Folgers jingle popped into my mind anyway :)

I've been a bit 'at odds' lately, too. With all of the commotion (and uncertainty) going on at Ed's place of employment, it's hard to get inspired to do much of anything.

May you and I both get back into the spirit of things soon! ((hugs))

  10. Debby...I think we all feel blue from time-to-time...goes with the territory of being a woman. Just take all the time you need, my friend. Thinking of you!

  11. Wow. Very true that as we age we become the "older generation". I have recently discovered that also. In years before we went to older relatives' homes for holidays but now WE are the ones who host the gatherings.

  12. Hi Debby, I always enjoy reading everyone's answer to these random questions. Sorry you are feeling blue, I also wonder if COPD doesn't impact your emotions. I have a friend who was just diagnosed and it has really hit her hard. She has no energy to do anything and is very discouraged.
    Hope your evening is peaceful.
    Hugs, Noreen

  13. Hopefully the blue mood will lift quickly. I've been there...and understand.

Love the fact about prejudices. That is a good answer. Seriously. And...PICKLES!!! My all time favorite comic strip. As for #1, I too don't do coffee at all. So your answer about another day to live is perfection.

  14. I think it too would be neat, Debby, to see a California condor. They look magnificient in pictures, would love to see one in the wild.

Hoping the blues lift soon; can totally understand, life has a way of sometimes making us feel a bit blue.

  15. Cute joke!! I am sorry you're feeling out of sorts. We all have those times that we just need to withdraw a bit, be alone, think, and pray. All the best, Debby.

  16. Yes, the best part of waking up is...waking up! Most assuredly a gift from God!

  17. Great joke. Sorry you're feeling a little blue ... I hope you feel back to yourself soon.

  18. I don't mind growing older: it beats the alternative. The thing about growing older is that my brother and I will soon be the elders in this family. Our Dad is still living (in a nursing home), but he's going to be 93 in November.

  19. You made me laugh about Folgers in your cup, now I have that jingle in my head. I must agree it's great God gave me another day :).

I've always wanted to swim with the dolphins!

    HUGs my dear!!

  21. Hope you feel better soon. I struggle in the fall months because my parents died in Sept./Oct. We'll be here when you feel up to blogging.

  25. The comic made me giggle.

I am right with you in the blues.

  26. I'm afraid I think about aging way too much......my sisters and brothers and I are now the oldest generation in our family and it is quite daunting!

I'd love to swim with the dolphins!

  27. Hi Debby! I have to have my coffee first thing n the morning and I like hot food. It is kinda depressing sometimes thinking how old we are getting.....Christine

  28. I agree--the most difficult part about getting older is watching loved ones die. I can handle all the other things that go along with aging, but that's the toughest.
