WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE #607

Thank you Joyce.

1. Summer officially begins this week (in the northern hemisphere)...what was your favorite thing to do in the summer when you were a kid? What do you like most about summer now?

We could play outside all day long and at night we would play kick the can in the street. Those were the days. Now, I like that it stays light out longer.

2.  Something you'll celebrate this summer?

We have an anniversary to celebrate but we will be in the car driving that day towards Montana. Adam and Gabby have an anniversary too.

When we get home from Montana we will go out to eat and celebrate both anniversaries. I'm not sure what the summer will bring but I'm sure it will be time spent with James.

3. Summer tastes like? Smells like? Sounds like?

I don't think I have an answer for this one. I would say it smells like flowers, or grilling but we can do that year round in California.

4. June 18th is National Splurge Day...what's the last thing you splurged on? What might you splurge on today?

I can't say that I've splurged on anything lately. At least I can't think of anything. Seems like these days you want something and you order it from Amazon. I do need to splurge on a new Chromebook.

5. Share a favorite summer quote, saying, song lyric, or meme.

The very first saying that popped into my mind was "Summertime and the livin' is easy" which is a song by Ella Fitzgerald.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

Hooray, we made it on cruise!

This boy loves shrimp....

  1. Best summer smell is a toss up between fresh cut grass and something cooking on a grill.
James is so adorable. I'm with him, I love shrimp too

  2. James looks so happy and I love shrimp and it has been way to long since I had them There is nothing I like about summer. If I lived in a state that is not Florida, I might find something. June to Nov I would love to leave the state, never gonna happen.
I do love the smell of burgers on the grill, but no one grills outside here in summer, even the evenings are way to hot to cook outside. there is a lot of that smell in our winter time. the sad thing is, I do the same thing now that I did when I was a child, lay on my bed and read a book. when school was out I read from dawn to dusk
