WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 298
Thank you Joyce!

1. Have you ever been fishing? Did you catch a fish? If so did you keep it or throw it back? If you haven't been fishing is that something you'd like to try?

I love to fish. I believe in the past we would keep some to eat but for years now we just catch and release.

Fish out of water, big fish in a small pond, living in a fishbowl, packed in like sardines, this is a fine kettle of fish, plenty of fish in the sea, or cut bait...which fishy phrase most recently applies to some area of your life?

I looked up each one and I'm not relating to any of them right now. I did however find this kettle of fish cute......

2. What's something you're always fishing for in your purse, wallet, desk, or kitchen junk drawer?

I'll go with the box cutter in the junk drawer because I've been in a shopping mood and boxes keep arriving at the front door!

3. Your favorite fish tale or movie?

Of course Finding Nemo and Finding Dora are favorites. I enjoyed Salmon Fishing in Yemen and of course The Incredible Mr. Limpet with Don Knotts from 1964.

4. Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight or night? Explain why you chose your answer.

I think I am more of a sunset person. I love the night skies but I must say that the sky always draws me in regardless of the time of day.

5. What's the oldest piece of clothing you own and still wear?

Nothing is coming to mind.....

6. We've got one more month of (officially) winter here in the Northern hemisphere. Are you feeling the need for a getaway? What's been the best and worst part of your winter so far?

I'm always wanting a getaway!!

We have had a lot of rain which is awesome for California. Sadly some places have had too much.

Worst part, because I love a clean car, is the fact that it seems to rain on the days I have to leave the house.

7.  The Wednesday Hodgepodge lands on National Margarita Day...will you be celebrating? Frozen or on the rocks? Are you a Jimmy Buffet fan? If so, what's your favorite JB tune?

No I won't be celebrating but I do love a margarita on the rocks. No I am not a Jimmy Buffet fan. I looked up his songs and the only one I actually recognized was Margaritaville!

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

We had a lovely evening out with Adam and Gabby last Saturday. We were celebrating Gabby's 33rd birthday which was on Valentine's Day.

We ate at a very quaint Italian Restaurant in downtown Orange, CA.

My dinner was delicious and so was the wine. They had a lounge singer who was amazing and it made the atmosphere so pleasant.

They have a date set for their wedding and it will be a destination wedding in Cancun.

  1. I always love the fish belonging to the Commandant in the Police Academy films. They are not fishy films of course (although...), but they make me smile.

  2. How exciting with the date set for the wedding! I hope it all works out with the destination wedding. Dinner sounded lovely though! We got a lot of rain this past weekend too. Its good to see California getting a lot, but not at the risk of mud slides, etc.

  5. I have heard that you are getting a lot of rain there - saw a photo of people kneeboarding in the street. I have been fishing once - so you really like it - I bet you do some in Florida? Love, sandie

  6. I can't wait to hear more about the wedding, Debby! :)
'Hoped to play along today, but couldn't think of a single 'fishy phrase' or a movie. Jaws resonated ... but I think it was because it appeared in theaters during a particularly happy time in my life.

  7. I'm so glad Adam is happy! He deserves it! I loved the Don Knots movie when I was little, too. I just laughed and laughed at him. Do you remember the one with the haunted house? The Ghost and Mr. Chicken? I still love that one. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the wedding

  9. A destination wedding...how fun!

I can't believe someone else chose The Incredible Mr. Limpet. That's 3 of us I've seen so far. I didn't think anyone else would remember it.

  18. Hello, hope you are having a good week.

I need to write the title of the Don Knott's movie, Caleb might enjoy that.

Will you be helping with any of the wedding planning?

    God bless,
    Bethany

  19. Cancun will be a fun place to get married! We've only been there once at a Palace Resort and it was great. Hope you aren't having any issues with flooding in your area-it seems like a good portion of Ca. is under water.
    Hugs,
    Noreen

  23. It's almost time for a new Hodge Podge and I am just showing up for this one. In fact, I might have missed it except that you are a fan of the Oscars and I am so not that I kept looking back. Where have I been that it has not registered that you are a California gal?! That is the cutest kettle of fish I have seen.

  24. I'm with you, I'm always wanting a getaway. Even as I'm returning from one.

I used to love to fish when I was a kid, but only if I got to eat the fish.
