UPDATE ON MY HEALTH

This is not my year. Believe me my depression is getting deeper. I pray to God everyday to heal me. I truly can't stop crying each day. I also may not be around to read everyone's blog.

So I am off of the oral steroids. If you remember I was told by my doctor that the swollen ankles and weak legs were from too many steroids and it should go away after I am off of them. Well something different happened. My legs got weak and it seems like I have neuropathy. I am praying that is not the case and thing will return to normal.

I was in the kitchen on Monday the 4th of August and suddenly my left knee buckled and I fell to the kitchen floor. Thankfully I didn't hurt myself. Mark said I better use our walker. I had used it like 8 years ago when I had knee replacement and Mark used it when he fell and had knee surgery 2 years ago.

Let me tell you that this is not me and I am not ready for this at all. I am praying that this will change and my legs will be fine. It is mostly my left leg that is affected. I did call to see my doctor ASAP but he wasn't in but I did see a man who fills in when he is not there. I got an x-ray and will be getting an MRI. I got some pain medication too.

Thankfully my lungs are better and I will be starting the Dupixent injections for COPD in 2 weeks.

I DO NOT WANT TO USE A WALKER!
I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

  3. Oh, Debby, I'm so sorry to hear of this new problem you're having. Yes, I will continue to pray for you and the restoration of your health. It is good news that you're off the steroids, though, as those can cause all kinds of complications. God bless!

  4. Oh you’re really going through it and it breaks my heart when a friend suffers. Keep praying. 🙏🏻 That is wonderful news that you’re breathing much better. A huge Praise God for that, and for getting off the steroids. The sooner you get your leg checked out as to why this is happening the sooner you can deal with it. The unknowns can be scary. I’m praying for you, Debby. You are loved.

  7. I"m so sorry you are going through this. Trust me I know all about daily pain. I had to retire early (2 yrs ago) at age 63 when I wanted to keep teaching until age 70 due to Cervical spine issues that literally give me pain every day now for going on THREE years. I totally get your frustration. CLing to the promises from GOd for comfort, pray those healing Scriptures over your self and know that here in NY I am also praying for you.

    Keep me posted.

  13. Awwwwww Debby...... ((((((((big hugs))))))). I am so so sorry you're going through this. But you know what? Steroids are big BAD things and if you've been on them for awhile, you will indeed have some side effects until your body is used to them being gone. They might make you feel better but steroids are horrible for the body & cause lots of damage. Be patient, use that walker temporarily if needed, and wait for the side effects to be over....knowing you're better off without the steroids. I am praying for you. Much love & many hugs, Andrea xoxoxo

  14. Oh Debby, I am so sorry you are having to deal with the pain issues as well as depression. I think, though, that they probably go together. Chronic pain can affect us in so many ways. I can relate to an extent and understand the frustration of never feeling good and wanting to be able to do what I used to again. I'm so glad the lung issue is better. Now to get that leg back to normal. Thinking about you, my friend.
