I went to Urgent Care last Sunday. I haven't had a lung infection for 7 months. I normally get about 3 a year with my COPD. Often season changes can make it happen.
It started a week ago last Wednesday and I have the medications to take but they were not working at all. Breathing treatments didn't help either. When this happens I usually need a steroid shot. They give it in the butt. Then the doctor wanted me to take 7 more days of prednisone. I am currently still not doing well. I am extremely frustrated and I'm going to wean off of them.
Also on Monday I had my second appointment with the ankle doctor. Wouldn't you know it, the elevator was broken and I had to climb up like 30 steps to the second floor. Not a good time for that with the lung infection.
Anyway, I got my second shot in my ankle. Still praying I won't have to have surgery but the first shot only lasted a few days and I walk with pain daily. He likes to try 3 shots before he thinks about doing the surgery because it is not a good one and needs about 4 months to heal and I won't be able to bend my ankle ever again. So far this second shot has not kicked in.
Right now I'm thinking some of the issues I am having with my lungs is just too many steroids in my body right now and that certainly isn't good for my osteoarthritis.
This has not been my year and I pray that things will get back to normal at some point. I can't be sitting around doing nothing. That is extremely unhealthy. Because of my ankle it is hard to get on the treadmill and the recumbent bike but I do try.
Thank you for listening....

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you are feeling better soon.
That sounds just typical with the elevator being broken. That's a lot of stairs to climb when you're hurting.
Hang in there my friend.
Monday! No elevator! That was an awful day! I pray you are feeling better.
Awwww Debby, I'm so sorry to hear that you're so unwell. Doggone it. *sob* If it helps to know & that the old saying is true ("Misery loves company.") , I am in the same boat. Egads...I am in the worst health I've been in in my entire life. And quickly too. I'll hang in there if you will. I know it's hard. ~Andrea xoxo
now this was a BAD DAY for sure.. Murphy and his law knows when to kick in for sure. Hope the 3rd shot will work and no surgery. We do feel a loss of hope when illness strikes, hang in there and stay away from stairs. Next time ask them to come downstairs and give you the shot???
Oh Debby, I’m so sad to hear this. Continued prayers for you. 🙏🏻
Joining you in prayer, dear Debby ... both for strength and peace of mind.
Praying for your healing, Debby. May God surround you with His peace.
I’m so sorry! I will continue praying. ❤️
That's a lot going on at once. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I think I would've called the doctor when I saw that the elevator was broken and tell him to come downstairs to see you! Crazy stuff! I am praying that something will begin work for you soon. (((hugs)))
That's terrible you having a lung infection and the meds not working it would be so frustrating, then having to walk up stairs with a bad ankle. I hope things improve for you soon.
Do you have one doctor that oversees everything? Steroids would cause your bones arthritis. Seems like you are going in a circle. You need steroids to breathe - but they hurt your ankle. Be careful of surgery now. Prayers Debbie.
I am sorry you are dealing with this. Prayers for relief and for answers!
