Living room with Singing snowmen for James to enjoy!
James had an amazing time with all of the singing snowmen! They came over for a second time and he just loved playing with them again.
These are the plush that James set out on the sofa.
Then there was a train that we had. Haven't used it in years. Actually we don't ever even remember using it. Anyway James loved it but it is too delicate of a train for his age and it had it's own issues so we are giving it away and got a new one.
Here's the new one. Marks been having fun with it!
So they came over on Sunday.....James loved the new train.
Eating some cheese spread with a spoon....
His first Gingerbread house. I squeezed out the frosting and he put on the candy.
He opened a Christmas present. Lincoln Logs from Aunt Amber & Uncle Dylan. We had decided to give out some early gifts because Christmas Day is going to be overwhelming for him with gifts just like his birthday party was.
Would you believe that I have five large bins of decorations that I did not put out this year. It is definitely time to downsize again. I did that about 5 years ago. I just can't do it all anymore.
Got my Christmas cards in the mail on the 10th and got the out of town gifts mailed on the 13th. I do the click-n-ship and take them to the post office to be scanned. Everyone received them in record time. We have also received everyone's gifts to us here at the house.
I'll be making a Hoska which is a Bohemian Sweet Bread on Christmas Eve like I always do. Mark and I will be alone and plan on making a Prime Rib dinner. However we will have Roxy and Gracie here while they celebrate Christmas with Gabby's family on Christmas Eve. The pups will not be spending the night.
I'm thinking that maybe they can come one more time for James to play with things again before I pack things up. I usually wait a few weeks until I start to pack things up.
We will be going to their house on Christmas Day. It should be a fun! We will be having a low key afternoon with Lou Malnati's frozen pizza from Chicago and lots of great snacks to eat.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each and everyone one of you and your families. May 2022 be a wonderful year filled with blessing from God.
Love,
Debby

Oh Debby, what a delightful post!!! It was sheer joy to read it and enlarge all the photos to see. And that "sweet baby James"... OMG!! The hair and the red sweater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christmas perfection!! :-D I hope they get to come back one more time too, so that James can play. Merry Christmas my dear friend. Have a wonderful holiday this year. God bless you with the best He has to give in the New Year! ~Andrea xoxoxo
Well first of all - Merry Christmas to you and your family! I hope you have a wonderful one.
Gee you have done a lot on decorating the house - you weren't kidding - you do have a lot of BEAUTIFUL items. I enjoyed a lot of them. I can see why James wants to come over and play - I do too!
I LOVE it is a wonderful life too.
That poinsettia has white on it's red leaves. Unusual.
Look at how happy he is with his train- love his joy.
And the gingerbread house - love it.
You are building so many memories.
Merry Christmas.
What a beautiful home you have, Debby. Every little boy's winter wonderland! I don't recall having seen the salt and pepper collection, but I love the way you've staged them!
Wow, you have the most amazing collections of Christmas things. I really love the Jim Shore figures.
James looks like he is having such a wonderful time...great train set for him.
Merry Christmas and enjoy your prime rib dinner.

I enjoyed the tour. Your idea for James to play with the plush toys, snowmen and train are just perfect memory making things! What a special Christmas for him and you.

James did a great job arranging the plush stuff animals!! I love all the decorations you have Debby! I've said it before, but it truly is a labor of love you do for your family!! All so very festive!! And of course I especially love all the pictures with James in them!! Boys and trails (big and young alike)!! They always enjoy playing with them! It sounds like your Christmas Day will be great with it being low key. I think its a good idea to have the young ones open a few gifts early myself. It does get overwhelming for them on the big day with so much going on. Let them enjoy a little bit at a time.
Love the Christmas card too! My brother and his family always do yearly photo Christmas cards. When his daughter got married back in 2002, they just kept doing the photo cards together, including when her kids were born. The oldest just turned 18 years old this past June. It is fun to have all the cards to look at how the kids have grown from year to year :) I like on your card how James is featured in each "frame" with mom/dad, grandparents, and aunt/uncle :)
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Debby!
