CANDY!

Another Tuesday has arrived bringing you another Tuesday 4 kept in memory of Toni Taddeo.    Let's discuss sweets.. candy, cakes, pies, pastries,  all manner of confections.

1. What are your favorite candies?

I like dark chocolate w/peanut butter. The See's PB Hearts!

2.  What kind of pie, cake and pastry tempts you the most?

Cheesecake or maybe an Old Fashioned donut. 

3. How often do you have dessert? Or how often do you bake goodies?

I rarely have dessert. I usually bake goodies around Christmas time. 

4.  Your choice for dessert today:

1. New York Cheesecake
2. Tiramisu
3. Cannolis
4. Chocolate Mud Pie
5. Creme Brulee
6. Hot Apple Pie with Ice Cream
7. Churros con Chocolate
8. Big Brownie with hot fudge sauce, ice cream and whipped cream.

Which one are you picking from this menu?

New York Cheesecake although Tiramisu and a Cannoli would be a close second.

TUESDAY 4

Music is something most people truly enjoy but some find it annoying at times.   Some listen at home, some in cars, and music is played in restaurants, shops, you name it, music provides a background for many activities.

Music, Music, Music

1.What kind of music appeals to you?  What kind  can you do without? 

I like smooth jazz a lot. However I do enjoy other music too like Steely Dan and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I definitely enjoy Christmas music and I do love Christian music too. 

I was never into hard rock. 

2.Do you consider music an important part of life?    Why or why not?

I think it should be. It can be so soothing and relaxing. I just don't think about putting it on. Same goes for me with reading books. Thing have to change around here!!!

3 What's on the radio as you drive or what is on at home and do you find music in restaurants and shops soothing or off putting? 

Often I don't have anything on. I do however have some CD's in my car that I play and then one of our stations Coast 103.5. 

Sure, they can play music but not to loud so that you can't think or talk.   

4. Would you tell us some of your favorite songs and singers please?

As far as my Christian music goes I love "Shout to the Lord."  I have to admit that I like a lot of music from movies so I used to buy the CD's all the time. I used to like watching "Glee" and have some of their CD's. I know that most people don't play them anymore but I still do.

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 .

Let's talk about the Thanksgiving Feast.

1. Do you celebrate with family, friends or by yourself?

We will be celebrating with Adam, Gabby and James along with Gabby's family. We are all bringing dishes to share. I would say that over all the years of being married we have always celebrated with family.

2.  Do you watch the Thanksgiving Day parade from Macy's in New York City?  The appearance of Santa at the end signals the start of the Christmas season.  What does the day hold for you?

I usually record it and try to watch it. 

The beginning of the Christmas season is wonderful and stressful. I love it! 

Thanksgiving day I love to gather with family and enjoy a delicious turkey dinner. 

3. What foods are the hit of Thanksgiving Day for you?

Turkey, gravy, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and some rolls. 

I am bringing the green bean casserole and sweet potato balls which is a very old recipe and the hit of the party. 

4.  We say grace before and after meals. Is grace a part of your Thanksgiving meal?

No it is not normally part of our Thanksgiving meal.

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4...

Do you love it or will you leave it? 

1. Coffee flavored or  coffee plain? What is your favorite kind?

I like my coffee flavored. Something without sugar with a vanilla flavor. 

2. A trip to the Caribbean or a trip to Spain? Why?

I choose the Caribbean. I would just like to be on a beach by the ocean. Of course I can do that here in California too! 

3. Goodies on your pizza or just plain?  What toppings would you love or leave?

We like the Home Run Inn cheese pizza but eat the other's more often. If we are at Aurelio's it would be their sausage pizza. On the Lou Malnati's deep dish that we buy we like pepperoni. These are all Chicago pizza's. 

There is a Home Run Inn pizza that we like with Italian sausage, pepperoni and bacon bits. It's all about it being Chicago Italian sausage to us. You can find their pizza in several grocery chains. We ate at a Home Run Inn in Chicago when we were in High School. 

This is an Aurelio's pizza in Las Vegas. We try to stop when we go to Montana. We usually eat one in the car while driving. There is a really good Chicago pizza in Florida and one of my favorites ever is in Downers Grove, IL. 

4.   Dinner at a 5 star or dinner at  Rosie's Diner known for home style cooking?  

I'm choosing the 5 star restaurant!

Howdy Partners and welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4!

Fall and winter are holiday seasons. This week I am going back in time for one of Toni's first Tuesday 4 questionnaires about holidays.   I  have changed two questions slightly and I hope you don't mind.

Let's talk about holidays. 

 1.  Which are your favorite Holiday(s)?

I love Christmas and I enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. 

2.   Favorite Holiday movie or character?

I have so many favorite Christmas movies. It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle of 34th Street, Prancer, White Christmas, Elf, the 3 Santa Claus movies and a dozen more for sure. I do enjoy the character Elf. 

3.   Favorite Holiday Dish To Make?

I enjoy making a turkey and I love a green bean casserole. 

4.   Favorite Holiday Weather You Wish For?

In California our Winter's can be pretty nice.

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 

Let's talk about pets okay?  Some people love them, some can't be bothered and some dislike them. Where do you stand?

1.  Do you have pets?

No pets right now. We lost our Cairn Terrier Skye 2 years ago. 

2.  Did you have a pet growing up? Tell us about it please.

Yes, we had some dogs growing up. I didn't really take much care of them. 

3.  Are pets too much trouble, or , do you find neighbors pets to be a problem?

Of course they can be trouble but they are definitely worth it! No, I haven't found the neighbors dog to be a problem. 

4.  Do you think dogs make good housemates, watchdogs? Do you think women living alone need a dog for security or companionship?

Yes, dogs make wonderful housemates. We have had dogs throughout our marriage. We bought a puppy a week after we got home from our honeymoon. These two years are the longest I've been without a dog in 50 years. 

Yes, I think a dog would be nice for a woman living alone for companionship.

TUESDAY 4

 Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

Here are questions to ponder for this week...

1. Are you happy with the way your life is going?

In many ways yes, but I am struggling with depression and will be starting on a new medication this week. 

2. Are you planning any trips in the future?

Yes, we are going to drive to Montana again to visit with Amber and Dylan since our last trip was cut short because of Covid. Also they will be in a new place, they rented a house. 

3. Are you reading anything at the moment or do you plan on reading something interesting?

I am not reading anything but I hope to start to read in the future. I need a change. 

I'm getting tired of watching my Hallmark movie reruns. I will however continue to watch the new Fall Season shows. I can't wait for them to start and the new movies each weekend on Hallmark. 

4. What's for supper tonight at your house?

If things go as planned we will be having a deep dish Chicago pizza that Mark ordered to try. We normally get Lou Malnati's shipped to our house, they are always in our freezer, but he saw something new that he wanted to try.

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4... 

Let's talk about restaurants and eating out, okay?

1 Do you like eating out with friends or would you rather have them over for a meal?  

I would definitely enjoy going out to a restaurant with friends. 

2. Let's go out to eat. You pick.  Where are we going ?

We are going to a place called Francoli Gourmet in Orange, CA. We haven't been back since the pandemic started. 

 

3. What are you going to order tonight?

I love their lasagna. Their entire menu is delicious. 

4.  Are you going to have dessert?  

If we go out to a restaurant we will most likely get a dessert. Probably something we could all share.
