Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday
2. Did you have a pet growing up? Tell us about it please.
Yes, we had some dogs growing up. I didn't really take much care of them.
3. Are pets too much trouble, or , do you find neighbors pets to be a problem?
Of course they can be trouble but they are definitely worth it! No, I haven't found the neighbors dog to be a problem.
4. Do you think dogs make good housemates, watchdogs? Do you think women living alone need a dog for security or companionship?
Yes, dogs make wonderful housemates. We have had dogs throughout our marriage. We bought a puppy a week after we got home from our honeymoon. These two years are the longest I've been without a dog in 50 years.
Yes, I think a dog would be nice for a woman living alone for companionship.

love the Hello November Graphic. You already know I love dogs and have had one to 3 every year of my 78 years, except for 3 lived alone in an apartment after a divorce. Bob and I had 6 months together and the pit bull next door had 11 puppies and we kept 2 of them, and have not been without dog/dogs for more than 2 days since then.
PS Your post DID say Lets Talk About Dogs. Ha ha. I think anyone living alone should have a dog or cat or rabbit or guniea pig or a pig or even a gerbil/rat.
I am sure you miss Skye every day! I miss our two that have passed on, but we still have the old girl, Sweet Pea. And she keeps me busy, seems even more so in her older age. I only have one neighbor to complain about--lol. Thankfully, she has a fenced in yard, but the fence butts up to our property. Her two giant german shephards stand at the fence and bark and bark and bark sometimes. It gets to be annoying.
I still miss Caraleigh who passed back in 2013. Then again, we wouldn't have discovered the joys Macie and Grace give us. Caring for two isn't cheap, but they're worth every cent.
Growing up I had a parakeet and some fish.
Perry lived quite a while but got sick and died. I was devastated.
I had some very scary experiences with dogs at a young age so was afraid of them.
Learned to love my "Granddogger" Snickerdoodle..and had her at our house quite often. She just passed over the rainbow bridge last year. 15 years of love for which I am grateful.

We both need a dog!
No, for years our apartment management wouldn't allow pets, except for Kaitlin's gerbils. A couple of years ago they changed the policy, but I won't get a kkpet unless something happens to Andy. I do get regular doggie fixes from the internet and from my daughter about my granddogs.
I can't believe it has been that long since Skye's passing :( Dogs do make wonderful companions! I think they give a sense of purpose too in walking them, taking care of them, etc. I hope when the time is right you'll get another dog, Debby!

I've pretty much had a pet since I was in about 8. The first year after I got married there was an apartment we lived in that was no pets. After that there was always a dog or cat in the house.
Yes I do think dogs make good housemates
I agree, dogs make good housemates.
Our Boston Terrier Molly died in 2018 just before Sam left for Basic Training.. we still have not decided on getting a new pup. We do have our cat Penelope.
