TEMECULA WINE COUNTRY

 

As you know Mark and I went to Temecula California Thursday November 1st to enjoy a day at the Wilson Creek Winery. We had a wonderful day. Weather was around 77 degrees and perfect. Funny how you can live in an area for 24 years and not know about the vineyards that are pretty darn close to where you live. I go to Temecula often to gamble at a local Indian Casino. For the vineyards you get off the exit before and within about 7 miles you are in a whole new world.

 

There must be over 20 vineyards, each one more grand than the other. I had bought a Groupon that I thought would be fun for us. I was so right! We started out with lunch and we both had delicious Chicken Caesar Salads. Then we headed over to the area for the horseback ride, filled out a little paperwork, got on our horses and went for our 90 minute ride through the vineyard.

 

I didn't take any pictures on the ride, it just wasn't possible. I just didn't want to feel off balance so I decided not to. So these pictures were all taken off of the horses except for the one they took of us sitting on our horses. We couldn't get any closer together since my horse wasn't fond of others close to her. She liked her space.

We had the 90 minute ride around the vineyard. My horse was

named Rosie. Mark didn't know the name of his horse.

After the horseback ride we headed over to the wine tasting room. We had a ticket to taste 5 different wines. That was so much fun. I can't wait to go back and do that at the other vineyards. We bought a few bottles of wine and I got a cute little cork holder. I have often save our corks from New Year's Eve and date them so I have already put several inside the holder. Then we went and had coffee and cheesecake before we headed home for the day.

A little bit of Bah Humbug showing......

I know I mentioned this before but I haven't been drinking much lately. Well Wednesday was not one of those days!!! I got an email from a friend of mine who told me that the gift cards I sent to her boys had no money on them. They actually accused her of stealing them. I know it wasn't my fault but I certainly was embarrassed. Now I have to wait and wonder about all my gift cards that were purchased that same day and are on their way to family!

So I had won a wonderful gift card to Ruth's Brownies and went to place my order. The gift card wasn't working and it took a few days with customer service to get my order placed. The gift card never went through so they had to do a credit for the amount. So they arrive yesterday and there are only 1/2 a dozen brownies in the box, I ordered a dozen. So I had to get back on with them, they apologized and will be sending out another dozen. Not a big deal but a hassle for sure.

So my husband wanted a pair of slippers for Christmas. Found a great deal on some really nice ones. Guess what?, they don't fit and have to go back. The only reason I know this is because he tells me to get him slippers and then he comes into my office one evening telling me that he just found & ordered some really nice slippers online. He forgot he told me to get him some!

Then he tells me to get him one of those inexpensive sweatshirts (L) at Walmart, I think they are like $7.00. So a week later he says "did I tell you L, I meant to say XL" thank you very much!

So the frozen deep dish Chicago pizza for Christmas Day was supposed to arrive yesterday. Was delayed because of weather. It should still be frozen but there is a chance that it won't be. If it is thawed it has to be eaten within 48 hours! That would mean we would not have it for Christmas Day. My husband said we will just order it again for next week. In the meantime we would be eating pizza a lot before Christmas. So say a little prayer that it arrives frozen today.

For some reason some of the littlest things just set me off!

I am almost done with the decorating. I think the wine helped, maybe I will try it again today!

WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS GO SHOPPING OR HAVE A GLASS OF WINE

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I have been fairly current on my blog reading because I can't do much else. So I was thinking that maybe there are some really great sales going on at this place called "Tender Heart Treasures" who have been "Warming Hearts & Homes for Over 20 Years" and they grabbed mine right before Christmas. I don't remember who posted it (let me know if it was you) but I shopped at this store and had so much fun. So BEING BORED, I jumped over to see what was on sale. Head on over and check them out and do the Winter Clearance and have some fun.

No I don't need anything but it did make me feel better..... :)

I bought close to $350. in items for $100.85 !!!! Some things are even 81% off. (Honey, if you see this post just move on past it to the next one and I LOVE YOU!)

Okay now on to the wine, oh I just looked at the clock and it's not time yet! So I will go over and make me some nachos, watch "All My Children", grabbing my thermal jug of 1/2 ice, 1/2 water & 1/2 Minute Maid Lemonade Light. Bye......
