WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE #583 AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Thank you Joyce and Happy New Year!

1. Oxford's Word of the year for 2024 is 'brain rot'. Are you familiar with this term? Do you suffer from the condition? Ha! This is a term used to 'capture concerns about the impact of consuming excessive amounts of low-quality online content, especially on social media'. If you were choosing a word to capture 2024 (for the nation/world, not your own life personally) what word would you choose?

I really haven't heard it at all. I hope I don't suffer from it.

TURMOIL   "A state of great disturbance or unrest"

2. It's National Polar Bear Plunge Day (January 1)...will you be participating in one of these events (or even your own)? How will you spend the first day of this brand new year? Do you have a traditional New Year's Day menu?

No, I have no plans to ever do that.

I'm not sure how we will spend the 1st day of 2025.

No we do not have a traditional menu, but I think years ago when we moved to California and ate with my Aunt and Uncle, I believe she did a ham.

However, Mark and I always stay up and watch the shows on New Year's Eve, eat some snacks and have a glass of champagne at midnight.

3. What's something that brings you joy and how will you do more of it in this new year?

You know my answer....spend more time with James, along with Adam and Gabby. We will definitely go to Montana to spend time with Amber and Dylan. Miss them all the time.

4. Do you struggle with the January blues? What's one thing you can/will do to keep them at bay?

I don't think I do other than taking down decorations. However, this year starts out with a lot of doctor's appointments. I pray for a good year of  health and healing.

5. Will you choose your own personal word of the year for 2025? What about a goal, resolution, or maybe even a bucket list? Elaborate as much or as little as you like.

I just did....

HEALTHY - This word implies full strength and vigor, as well as freedom from disease.

I want to work on spending a lot of time with family and decluttering. Praying to get to a family wedding at the end of April in Georgia. I haven't seen my Florida family since before the pandemic.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

GREAT HEALTH AND HAPPINESS TO EACH OF YOU.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

Wishing you health and happiness, too, Debby! Danny and I can surely use that in this New Year and I pray God has the same plan. Blessings!

I do hope you have a healthier year, Debby. Hope you are able to attend that wedding, too, and see family you haven't been able to for so long. Happy New Year to you and yours!

Happy New Year. I always cook a pork roast with sauerkraut on New Years day. It's in the crockpot now and smells so good

Happy New Year and I wish for you a year of healing and happiness and lots of loving with James. I don't pick a word, but decided to this year and mine is Patience, of which I am sadly lacking, and sadly in a lot of need for it.
Turmoil is perfect for our world and the USA..
I spent New years even with a very sick dog and a trip to animal ER. I wish for myself no ER in the coming year, human or canine and for you too

Happy new year and I pray there is a return to health for you.
I do hope you can go and visit family too.
"brain rot" is a terrible word...never heard of it..
I do believe that some of the things that the media shoves down our throats could cause brain rot ...if we would let it..
Not gonna...

I have heard of brain rot.
I have jumped in a cold pool after a sauna - at our health club years ago - would not do it now.
Healthy is a great word for you. I am picking grateful!
