Thank you Joyce for your dedication each week.
1. This week marks the beginning of Lent...will you be giving something up or adding anything to your life during this season of the year?
No I do not do Lent, it was never practiced in the Presbyterian church I grew up in so we never got into the practice of giving anything up.

2. The day before Lent is Shrove Tuesday... tradition states you eat pancakes on this day. In some parts of the world Shrove Tuesday is actually known as 'pancake day'. How do you like your pancakes? Or don't you?
I like my pancakes with butter and syrup but rarely have them unless I'm out in a restaurant for breakfast.

3. I'm sure there are many, but what's one love song you really love?
Sergio Mendes - "Never Gonna Let You Go" - 1983 : As you know, Mark and I were separated and divorced in the early eighties. I listened to this song over and over and over again wanting him back in my life.

4. What are some things you do to let others know you love them?
Say I LOVE YOU! Give them cards, make a favorite meal or dessert. There are so many things you can do and say to express your love to others that the list is endless.

5., pink, or do you prefer another color? Can you recall the last time someone gave you flowers? Given your choice would you like to open the door and see a dozen red roses, a dozen purple tulips, or a dozen pink peonies?
I prefer yellow roses. I was given flowers for my birthday last October. I do like yellow tulips a lot but I am going to say a dozen Ranunculus which are now my favorite flower however I do love Freesias for their awesome fragrance.
6. President's Day will be celebrated in America next Monday. Does US Presidential history and trivia interest you? Many Presidential homes are open to the public and offer guided tours...Monticello (Jefferson's home), Mount Vernon (Washington's home), Montpelier (James Madison's home), Hyde Park (FD Roosevelt's home) and The White House (home to the sitting President) to name just a few. Of those listed which would you be most interested in touring? Why?
It can be fun to see past presidents homes but it's not high on my list of things to do.

7. Are you good at keeping secrets?
Yes I think I am pretty good at keeping a secret but I haven't always been that way. I learned my lesson years ago.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Well I have been trying really hard not to get a cold but I'm afraid it happened anyway. So I am down and out until further notice. I had to miss bowling yesterday :(

So sorry to hear you're not feeling well...get better soon! Yellow roses are a favorite of mine, too! I don't think I've ever heard of a Freesia. That is a great love song!

I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well ... hopefully it will pass quickly. In the meantime, take care of yourself. {{hug}}

I love ranunculas too, but they're not common around here. I hope you feel better. I've had something for almost a month that just lingers. Ugh. So tired of it.

Take care!

A yummy cold remedy that really helps - eat raw honey with cinnamon 3 times a day - just a TSP each time. It really helps. & tastes good!

I love that song - reminds me of that soap opera Santa Barbara - it was the love song for the main couple :)

We don't practice lent either. I am seeing on FB some things that people are 'sacrificing' in remembrance of Christ's suffering: chocolate, soft drinks, internet, etc. To me, these things sounds so small compared to how Christ suffered for us. :( So thankful for HIS love...without conditions.

Sorry about the cold, Debby; seems like so many are sick here; hope you feel better soon; I know it was not fun to miss bowling yesterday!

Feel better soon, Debby! I'm sorry you had to miss bowling.

Seeing presidents' homes isn't really high on my list, either, although it would be fun if we were in the area anyway.

Oh I hope you get better soon - it's not nice being sick.

I have never done Lent either. It's interesting to me that a lot of churches that never observed Lent in the past are now doing so.

I have never participated in Lent either. I don't make pancakes very often, my son likes them so my husband makes them every now and then.

I don't give up anything for lent either. I just wasn't raised around it but I do know some people do.
Take care :)

So you are still not feeling well - I am so sorry. My nose is stuffy I think from all the blooming going around here. Anyway we do practice Lent in the Methodist Church. Ashes and all. Feel better.

Hope you are soon feeling better. That is a great song...I'd love to hear your story some day. I'm always so curious about marriages that end then find their way back to life. Glad you two ended up being a success story. :)

What a great song! I remember it. And Solid Gold is classic.
Hope you feel better soon. I am feeling better today but had a bad cough and cold for the past five days. Colds aren't fun.
