Happy Halloween!
Hope your day is filled with goodies.
Wednesday Hodgepodge is 100 today!
We have been doing this for 100 weeks.
According to my numbers at the bottom of the page
I have only missed 3 of them.
So a big shout out to Joyce.....
THANK YOU!
1. What creeps you out?
Creeping crawling things like snakes, spiders, centipedes and rats.
2. What's your least favorite
candy?
Thinking.......still thinking.......got it, Cherry Cordials. You usually see them at Christmas. Can't stand them but I do love fresh cherries.
3. Are you a fan of scary movies? What's the scariest movie
you've ever seen?
No but I have seen a few. I remember being scared with the very first House on Haunted Hill in 1959. I would have only been around 8 years old at the time. I am trying The American Horror Story this season but I really don't like scary at all. I make sure I watch it in the morning :)
4. What part of life confuses you the most?
I'm not sure I can answer this. My faith in God is strong and I believe I will see my loved ones again but the pain and heartache we must go through wears heavy on my soul. I do know I will have the answers someday and it will all make sense.
Since it is election time I am going say that politics for sure confuses me. I don't understand why our votes alone can't win an election and why we have to have the electoral votes.
5.
Pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, poppy...what's your favorite seed?
I'm going to say poppy seed. I grew up with poppy seeds being in Kolache and sweet breads.
Yum............
6. Imagine
your life ten years from today...what's changed?
Well I would hope we are happily retired, enjoying life and maybe have a grandchild or two!
7. What do you a) love
the most and b) like the least about the Hodgepodge?
I love the questions. You make me think! No complaints from me.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Tomorrow, Thursday November 1st, Mark and I are finally using our Groupon for our tour of Wine Country Trails in Temecula, CA which includes lunch, tasting of 5 wines and a 90 minute guided horseback ride through the vineyards. It's about an hour from our house. I am really excited however I am also pretty nervous. Wish me luck!
Ready for the kids tonight at the door!

Oh, yes...some grandkids to love on would be perfect! If it helps any, I don't understand politics, either...and I'm so ready for this election to be OVER! The girls and I give Chris Cordial Cherries each year for Christmas, but I can't stand them! Happy Halloween!
Have fun on our Groupon adventure! And yes, politics are very confusing. Blessings!
That tour of the Wine Country Trails sounds like so much fun! I hope you'll have pictures of it to share with us.
All of politics confuses (and frustrates) me. Why can't politicians run on their platforms, instead of negative ads, name-calling, lying, etc. Ugh!
I forgot about Cherry Cordials. I was never a fan of them, and one year I had a tummy bug right after eating one ... well, let's just say that clinched the deal for me. ha!
Not fond of cherry cordials either. I don't like the white creamy stuff in them. I love fresh cherries...period. Ranier cherries are one of my favorites. Have fun on your Groupon wine adventure. Sounds like loads of fun. Sample a glass for me. :-)
Looks like you're all ready for the trick-or-treaters at your house!
I don't understand why we don't go by votes alone either. It seems unfair for some states to be more important than others!
Your outing for tomorrow sounds interesting! I'd be in trouble with the guided horseback ride though. Have fun!
I look forward to seeing your blog about your visit to wine country. If we do a wine trip I will drive because I don't drink.
Hope you have fun riding through the vineyards!
Happy Halloween to you!
What a nice day you have planned. Enjoy it all. Happy Halloween to you as well. I'm not sure of the voting situration either. Why is there both a popular vote and an electorial vote as well.
Looks like you are all ready for Halloween. I expect about 200 trick or treaters tonight!! I love Halloween but I don't like the scary part. I am a total chicken.
I don't like cherry cordials either.
I can't believe you've only missed 3!!!
Hello! Found you on the Hodgepodge hop. I hope you have a wonderful time on your tour. I absolutely love your blog design!

Debby, I'll take your Cherry Cordials! (Do you want my marshmallows?) I love those types of sweetbreads, but still prefer the almond ones...doesn't mean I won't eat the poppy seed!
How cute with Amber and Dylan's costumes!! Oh you will have so much fun in Temecula with the wineries, et al! Can't wait to hear about it! I'm with you about #4. My mom used to make a poppyseed roll similar to what you had here; it was delicious!!
have a safe Halloween!
betty
I have a great aunt who used to make the most AMAZING Kolache! I have the recipe but haven't tried it out yet. Hers were the BEST!
My high school teacher explained the electoral college was created before most people could read, travel, or communicate by phone. It made sense then. I'm not sure it makes any sense now.
Hope your dreams for 10 years from now come true. Have fun tomorrow!
I think the electoral college system needs to go. It should be purely by total votes.
Happy Halloween!
Love those full size candy bars!!! ;-) All the pictures were great! I'm with you with the electoral vote. I remember when Bush lost the popular vote thinking that that must feel pretty strange... that although you won, most PEOPLE didn't vote for you. Wish they'd do away with it... Happy Halloweeen!
I agree with bugs scaring me! And I remember that show The House on Haunted Hill in 1959. Vincent Peale right? And I don't understand the electoral votes either. And Amber and Dylan are cute.
Boo to you!
Happy Halloween!

My least favorite halloween candy is....ummmm...I don't think I have one that isn't my favorite. Maybe the chocolate covered cherries although I have to admit that I will eat that in a pinch when I want some chocolate. The groupon sounds like it's going to be so much fun. Enjoy Temecula!
Cockroaches creep me out. I do not like anything with mint in it. Love chocolate mouse. Hugs to you Debby.
Ooh, she is wearing a lovely dirndl! And are his lederhosen really leder (leather)?
I once had a poppy-seed cake, but didn't know what it was. I thought it looked like it was made with fresh ants, but since it tasted fine, I ate the thing. Good thing it was poppy seed!
Cute costumes!
Love the plaid pumpkins!
Love the costumes! They are really cute and the pumpkins are adorable! I always love your answers to these questions...my kids would had loved to come for a treat to your house :)
Amber and Dylan look great!
All that candy and treats so make me hungry. Oh man ... now I have to go have my protein shake and pretend it is something yummy ... lol
