Better late than never I always say. Let me tell you that ever since Joyce asked about cliches on Wednesday Hodgepodge I certainly do find myself using them a lot. I knew I did but I didn't realize just how often I say them. Okay....on with the show!
Skye had a haircut on Wednesday (Halloween) so she wasn't picked up until 5pm. I didn't dare take any pictures beforehand because she was a very disheveled pup prior to these pictures. She needed grooming earlier but I put it off to make sure her gland issue was completely healed. She has had a bath and brushing at home but let me tell you there were at least 2 inches of hair hanging from the top of those ears and she could hardly see. I even jelled her hair back a few times! So I took a few pictures of her in her new Halloween PJ's when she got home. ($3.99 at Michael's)
The Many Faces of Skye....
I have to tell you that Miss Skye B was a little doll with the Trick or Treaters. I think I had a leash on her last year so she couldn't reach the door. I have been a big freak about her getting out the front door ever since she was a puppy. She will be 4 in January. Anyway she went up to the threshold to greet everyone but never went outside, even when there was a little dog in one group.(Charlie was a whole nother story)
She is just so well behaved at times. Her class that I took her to at 6 months old really stuck. She really surprised me at how calm she was. Maybe she was just so exhausted from her day getting groomed that she just didn't have it in her to run! I wonder if it's time to take down the warning sign on the inside of our front door. It says "Don't open the door unless you know where Skye is!" Yes that has been on the front door of over 3 years 8 months now.
The pumpkin was literally finished being carved
and put outside just before dark.
Just in time for the first ring of the door bell!
We ended up having 58 kids at the door. Last year we had 70 so we planned for 90. We didn't think we would have 90 but the large candy bars that we buy at Costco come in packs of 30. Amber & Dylan put on their costumes again and handed out candy. We put a few Lou Malnati's pizzas in the over and it was a great evening.

That is a cool pumpkin Debby!! Very nicely carved!! I thought about you on Halloween with passing out your big candy bars. We got absolutely no trick or treaters this year. Seems like you had a great Halloween and Skye looks so adorable groomed and in her PJs!! Glad to hear too that she was so well behaved!
betty
Skye looks absolutley adorable!! Oh my goodness!
As for Halloween, we usually have quite a few kids but the weather was SO bad we only had 20!
Skye is too cute.
We had fewer kids this year, too.
Skye is just too cute and a great set of "Jammies". Love the pumpkin as well - well done. We don't get kids for Trick or Treet because we are too out in no mans land for kids to come to us and when the power goes off in town, our street is very busy! Too busy for little ones to run from house to house. Oh well, more for us I guess.
Skye is absolutely adorable. Cool pumpkin!
Have a great weekend.
I bet the Trick-or-Treaters enjoyed seeing Sky in the fancy pj's - so cute!! 90 Trick-orTreaters?! Word is out that you give the BIG candy!!
oh skye is just adorable..what a sweetie...we didn't turn on our light this year...I was wore out...didn't feel like opening the door and fighting with Nolan...he barks so much...
Hi there, Skye is so adorable! This post gives me hope that our little Hunter will mellow out with time. We've gone through Obedience I classes and are waiting for Obedience II to begin. I just hope he will continue to mellow out and become more friendly-he is just now accepting the grands. Thanks for sharing your darling pup.
Hugs, Noreen
You are a woman after my own heart with that pooch. Although we are saying - don't let Disco to the door - he'll bite! lol Or eat chocolate or run. What class did you take her too?

Oh Skye looks so cute with the haircut and outfit. Our dogs didn't go over the threshold either as I feared they might being at a new home. Better behaved than I give them credit for.... Love your pumpkin and I hope to visit your tree blog soon, just am running behind these days. Ann
58 kids at the door sounds like fun! No kids running around our lofts.
Skye looks gorgeous, our Dougal is ready for his summer clip too.
She is adorable.
Skye is so cute!
We probably had about 50-60 kiddos for Halloween and had enough candy for 3X that many. So, now our freezer has lots of candy in it.
Happy weekend!
She looks just adorable. We didn't have any at the door, but that is probably because we don't celebrate Hallowe'en. Next week, on November 11th (St Martin's Day) I might get a few, but I won't get my hopes up. Usually I have about 2!!
She looks so cute all dressed up for Halloween!
Skye is absolutely adorable in her pajamas! I so wish I had taken my two to obedience classes.......my 6 year old will run out the door if he sees a chance.......I need to out that note on my front door and change the wording to read.......do NOT ring the doorbell.....it makes the dogs crazy which in turn makes me crazy!
I have to order some of those pizzas. Every time you talk about them, my mouth starts watering.
Sounds like you enjoyed the day and night! I was out of state and the Hubby was at church...so no trick or treaters here. But we don't have kids on our street so even if we had been home, we probably would not have had any. Enjoy your weekend!
Your pup is adorable! Happy sharefest! The pumkin turned out pretty well too!
Love your template for fall too!

She is just precious!
We don't have many tricksters since most of the churches in our area have alternative events for children. We had 7 this year and most of those were children over the age of 6 years. I love it when the wee ones come by with their parents...I missed seeing the little Princesses and bugs....
Smokey certainly didn't greet anyone. He heard them long before they reached the porch and as soon as the doorbell rang, he was out of the room in a shot...
We're having a day of rest.
Mama Bear
You were so good to the trick-or-treaters. I'm glad you made such a fun night of it for them and for the family!
We only had about 30 trick-or-treaters and Tucker didn't run out either. The first ones who came by was a mom and dad with 5 little ones. The next to youngest walked right in my house when I opened the door! He was so cute. His mom was all- NO! You can't go inside! But I assured her he was just fine. What a cutie! Tucker and I think that Skye looks lovely with her haircut! And love those pjs!
Skye is so lovely with her haircut ... and those pjs are so adorable! And I love that pumpkin - someone's got some mad carving skills! ;-)
Skye is a very good sport waiting for the trick or treaters! Love it!
Oh what a cutie! I love the outfit....Christine
Skye looks so well groomed and cute in her Halloween outfit! Your jack 'o lantern looks great, too!
Oh wow I love the pumpkin!
You are the best place to trick or treat with the large bars! You rock!
I'll head over and see what new ornaments are posted :)
