I mentioned last Friday that I surprised a blog friend while I was in Florida. I have been following Christine's Home and Travel Adventures for several years now. She has the most impressive collection of tableware you will ever find and does amazing tablescapes.
Over time we have talked about meeting up when we were both in Florida. She use to live in Florida and now her daughters live their so she visits often. (I'm not sure about her other children.) Actually she bought a second house in Florida recently. It seemed that every time she was in Florida I was here at home and visa versa!
Just before I left for Florida I saw that she posted about a Fund Raiser that they were having for her precious twin granddaughter Rea who had been diagnosed with childhood cancer. It was going to be on June 28th and I was still going to be in the area. I didn't tell her I was in town because I just wasn't sure if I could make it.
Well as it turned out I realized that I would be able to go and decided to surprise her. I didn't plan on staying long because they had a few hundred people expected to show up and we had a graduation party to attend. I will share some photos with you that I took but you really have to go over and read the post that she wrote about my surprise. It made my heart smile......

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: your dad looks so much like mine. But in the last couple of years, my dad has become a whole lot more frail ... thankfully your dad still looks great for 91!
What a nice thing you did for your bloggy friend!
I have had wonderful experiences meeting my blogging friends in person! I will go read Christine's post, and enjoyed yours very much!

I was so touched and happy by your surprise visit, Debby. It made our fundraising day even more special. Thank you so much, Debby.....Christine
Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. God bless Rea.
Debby, What a blessing to meet in person. I've been able to meet two ex-bloggers(they stopped blogging this year)and we always have such fun together. I'm going over to visit Christine's blog now.
Have a great weekend.

How wonderful that you finally got to meet. And if your visits are anything like my meeting up with online friends...they're even MORE sweet in person.
Bless her granddaughter.
That is such a blessing.
A friend of mine and her online friend have made plans to meet each other next summer. It has to be a blessing and fun too.
That was a sweet post she wrote, Debby, especially having to deal with such a hard thing with a little one with cancer :(
I am glad you were able to surprise her! I bet it took her a minute to put it all together when she heard your voice and saw your face! Love when things like this happen!
betty
Surprises are always good (unless they are from the tax office, in which case...). I always think it is so nice to finally put the person behind the blog as well. And it seems that you two hit it off!
It is always so much fun to meet up with friends that you haven't met before! I'm so glad you were able to make it work!
I love that you got to meet your blog buddy! So much fun!
How cool Debby! Love the pics over at Christine's blog. I have met a few bloggers over the years and have so enjoyed putting a voice to the photos.
Also resonate with the sentiment expressed in your last image.
Debby, so glad you were able to meet Christine; it's a memory for a lifetime.
I love you were able to do this! What an amazing cause. My prayers are with their family.
