2. It's been said 'variety is the spice of life'...in what way is this true for you? Elaborate.
It might be but we have not been doing much of anything lately.
3. What is something in your life that adds 'spice' ( excitement, intensity) even if also comes with challenge or unpredictability?
I have to say that there is nothing right now. The challenges have all been health related and I've had it. If you read my health update, I am still having issues with my lungs. This is not my year. I will take all the prayer you can give to me.
4. If you could instantly master one skill or hobby, what would it be and why?
I would like to be into reading books and I think I would like to do some hobby. I used to do cross stitching years ago.
5. We're halfway through the year...what's one book, movie, or activity you've loved this year that you'd recommend to others?
The best activity is seeing out James. That is the joy in my life.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
We had a wonderful time at Adam and Gabby's on Saturday evening. James of course was so darn cute. We did play some bunko. Gabby's mom Isa was over too and we taught her how to play.
We celebrated an early Father's Day. Adam, Gabby and James leave on Wednesday and will be flying to Florida and doing a 10 day cruise with Gabby's sister and family. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Adam made the most delicious meatballs, spaghetti and Texas toast, along with a salad. Then we had Key Lime pie for dessert. It was a lovely evening.
Since we will be going to Montana it will be about 3 weeks that we will not being seeing them. However, we will be seeing Amber and Dylan which is super exciting.

I have to be honest - I am not a big spice fan at all.
I know your health is not going to well. I am so sorry.
So, James will be gone almost two weeks and you for three weeks. That is going to be awhile.
He will have grown a foot by then.
So, when do you go on your trip?
I used to like spice and heat on my foods - perhaps a bit too much because it no longer agrees with me. So I have had to tone it down.
It looks like you have a lot to look forward to.
I, too, have to limit my salt intake b/c my fingers swell so much. That's okay, I more than make up for it with pepper and garlic. Caraway seed on pork chops sounds intriguing; I'm going to suggest Tom does that next time he grills.
We don't use spices, mostly not even salt and pepper. I'm happy that you will be going to Montana, and I will keep praying for you. I hope your health starts improving. ❤️
I don't use a whole lot of spice and when I'm cooking I rarely add salt and pepper. I'm one of those who thinks that it should be done at the table because everyone has different preferences.
the only spices I use, or even have in the house, besides pepper, salt, garlic salt, is cinnamon, sumac which is new to me, garlic/onion powder and dried onions. basil is the one I can't eat if its in a recipe. bay leaves and sage are the same as basil. I don't use herbs or spices.
agree with Ann, add if after cooking and choose your own. i would choose ART skills over all others, I long to be able to draw what I see. Piano is second.
I will definitely keep the vacationers in my prayers. I hope they have a splendid time. I will keep praying for you too, my friend, and those precious lungs of yours. I'm so sorry you've had such a hard time of it this year. *hugs* ~Andrea xoxo
I've never been one for spicy foods, Debby. Know I'm praying for your health, especially with your lungs, to improve each and every day. I know you're looking forward to the Montana trip, even though you'll miss James and his folks. God bless always!
Praying for you and all of your health issues. I want to you enjoy your time in Montana and I know James is going to enjoy his cruise but it will be a bit lonely without him for sure. I agree with Chatty Crone. James will have grown more inches and be a whole lot cuter by the time you see him again.
Take care
Sue
I use very little salt but I am a spice gal and use nearly everything. I can't think of a single one I don't enjoy. Plus, I say bring on the heat! THeHub does not agree!
I know you will miss seeing James while you are gone, and I know he will miss y'all.
Cinnamon is my favorite spice, Other than that I don't eat spicy foods. How can you enjoy the food when your mouth is on fire? If I could master a hobby I think it would be learning sign language. I've tried for years but I just don't retain information very well. Have a good day Debby!
Hi Debby, I caught up on your health update. I continue to pray for you.
I am looking forward to seeing Amber and Dylan's new home.
Carla
I'm behind reading blogs as I am with my mom this week, but I did just now go catch up on your health update. I'm sorry you're frustrated and not feeling well in so many ways. I hope the upcoming trip will be a time of relaxation and enjoyment. I know you'll miss James but I bet he has a grand time. Take care Debby
Debby, I am so sorry you continue to have these persistent health issues. This hasn't exactly been my year either. It is so frustrating to not be able to do what I have always done without issue, and just not feeling well. I know you will miss your sweet James and his parents, but am excited for your trip to Montana. We aren't doing any traveling this summer or fall at this point. Again, as I said, frustrating.
I know your health challenges are wearing on you. So sorry it has been such a challenging year. Will say an extra prayer for you today!!
I'm sorry about the health issues. That can be draining. Praying for peace and energy
I liked your answers, I am not much into spices other then maybe salt and cinnamon on donuts
I used to use cinnamon a lot, but I don't bake as much these days and my "sweet" spices don't get much use as a result. I haven't played bunko in a long time - that sounds like fun! Hope you're having a great week, with just the right amount of spice!
I do hope your health is on the mend soon and you have a lovely time away!
