Head on over, visit with Linda and pick up your dozen.
1. Is there a word which you initially mispronounced? Were the circumstances in which you made the faux pas embarrassing? By the way, that's not "foax pass." (I know you know that. Just jokin' with ya.)
I am sure that there have been many. I do know that when Burger King opened and my father went through the line he said "I want a wooper" and the woman said what size Root Beer do you want. He didn't say the whop!
2. How do you feel about the use of texting shortcuts and trends? (ex: "I've got ur notes. Get them 2 u 2morow.")
I am not very good at them but I do make up some good ones that my children have commented on!
3. Tell me about your high school senior picture. Please feel free to post.
I'm too lazy to look for it (that was 41 yrs. ago) but I know I looked hot! I liked it.
5. Share a high school or college homecoming memory.
What memory, remember it was 41 yrs. ago! I do know that I always had fun in school and Homecoming was always cool, especially the football games.
6. Linda at Mocha with Linda wants to know: "Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?"
What, I can't like both of them equally? Sunsets are awesome, especially at the beach. I do like the time before sunrise the best, it's getting brighter out but the city lights are still on. It's awesome.
7. Lea at Cici's Corner asks, "What is something you have not done that you desire to do?"
Learn how to use my new Big Girl camera. It arrived yesterday and I feel lost!
8. Carol at Wanderings of an Elusive Mind ponders, "If you could come back [in another life] as an animal, which would it be?"
It would be a giraffe, they are my favorite.
9. Joyce from The Other Side of the Pond is curious: "Where were you 10 years ago?" Please feel free to elaborate more than just your physical location.
I was in a different house, my health was much better and I was working at a Hallmark store. I think the kids were already out of the nest!
10. When you are proven to be correct in any contentious discussion, do you gloat?
Not so much but many years ago I did that on one occasion. I had an argument with my father in law and he always had to be right. Everyone let him be right even when he wasn't because of the consequences. I didn't back down and I.was.right! He didn't talk to me for two years following that.
11. What is your favorite food which includes the ingredient "caramel?"
I have a recipe for caramel brownies that are really good but I haven't made them in many, many years. So I will say a caramel apple. Wait: I just thought about a caramel frappachino, they are awesome!
12. From my 17 year-old daughter to you: "If you could be part of any fictional family, which family would you choose and why?" (She's so cute. And clever.)
I am going to say The Flinstones because they have always been one of my favorites, of course the Huxtable's would have been fun.
Update: Just found out that there is no #4, I didn't even notice!

1. I always mispronounce strawberry. I do it on purpose though. People go mad when you say strowberry and will try and teach you the correct way of pronouncing it. And then after five minutes I will say strawberry once. They think they've cracked it and I will continue to say strowberry, driving them even more mad (only do this with someone who is not your friend)
Thanks for sharing info about you! I didn't have time this morning to answer questions, but maybe another day ♥ Have a wonderful day ♥
You just reminded me that I used to make caramel brownies too...haven't thought about them in a long time. I try not to make too many sweets. Sigh.
Have a great day!
You have come up with some good questions there....don't have much time this morning or I would try and answer some. Take Care Trish
i am very jealous of your 'big girl' camera... wish i had one.. but then.. i would have NO clue what to do with it.. lol
have a wonderful day!!!!
Caramel brownies sounds wonderful. Maybe you could share your recipe sometime.
The Huxtables, good answer. Back when the kids had respect for their parents and grandparents. And disobedience never went without consequences.
I've been reading several other bloggers Random Dozens this morning and I'm getting hungry with all the caramel ideas! yum on the brownies!
hang in there with the camera; I bet it will come together and you will be mastering it in no time
(and then you can take a picture of a sunrise or sunset to share :)
betty
Your whopper story cracked me up! I'm still laughing ...
I know what you mean about question 6 -it's hard to choose between sunrises and sunsets. I love them both. I forgot about sunsets on the beach when I answered my questions or I for sure would not have been able to make up my mind.
Caramel brownies - now there's a thought!
Love your indecisiveness about the caramels! It's hard to pick just one, isn't it? :D
Yay for recipes involving caramel!!! :-) And I love your answer about sunrises and sunsets. Why pick just one?
I still get a kick out of remembering when my son and I were in the grocery store cleaning aisle, and he said, "Mom, what is BLECH?" (Like eww, yuck, blech!) Umm, that's bleach.
My sister and I have a running joke about the proper way to say paper mache. Papiyay Mache? Wi-wi, we sound so French!
Thanks for posting this...made me laugh!

I prefer sunsets.
Sunrises come so early.
Great answers! Thanks for stopping by.
Ah! The Huxtables! THAT was an awesome family!
I think you may like rises and sets equally if you'd like. Perfectly permissible on Wednesdays.
If I had ordered a wooper I would have been sO disappointed with a ROOTBEER! I don't even like rootbeer...
I loved the whopper story! Funny! That could've very well have been my husband, too :)
I'll be looking for some new photos taken with that Big Girl camera--but I understand what you mean..it's hard to learn something new, isn't it?
Wow...your FIL sure holds a grudge when he's wrong, huh?
Take care,
Kathy

If I'm up to see the sunrise, there's something wrong.

Oh and I text like crazy but no text shorcuts here.
Oh Debby - you got a new camera :) Oh, I can't wait until you start using it. You're going to love it, I'm sure!!

Anything with Caramel is on my list - brownies, chocolates, on ice cream - LOL!
Great answer. I am always saying things wrong. I so gloat when I am right with my husband. Oops. Have a great evening.

I think we should all dig out our pictures from high school. Back when we were "hot"!
I can make up a #4 for you!
If you could stay young forever, would you? But only you, the rest of the world keeps aging!
This was an extra fun "dozen" today, well, guess it really wasn't a dozen. :o) I completely forgot about the Huxtable's, what a neat family and we watched every episode.
Blessings to you!
I didn't notice that #4 was missing either.
If I came back as an animal I think I would be a killer whale. For some reason, I feel a real connection to them.
Oh!!!! I LOVED this dozen! Will definitely have to do my own tomorrow! (I hope you have time to dig up that pic eventually!!!) That bit about your dad at the BK made me LOL (and I NEVER type LOL because I don't really laugh out loud as much as people write it... but I really did! That was hilarious!!!!!!)
;-)

So was the 2 years of silence from your fil worth it? Sometimes, I wonder...silence is golden, I've heard I LOVE the wooper story! I have 2 kids at a fast food restaurant and they say it's SO hard to hear on that headset....I think this is priceless! Thanks for playing!
I mispronounced fleur (fluer?) de lis for a long time.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Flintstones......
Great answers!
Blessings

I'll bet I would really love caramel brownies, but I've never had them. I love caramel apples too but my jaw gets tired!
Your dad's rootbeer/whopper story is a hoot!
