Thank you Joyce!
1. The Hodgepodge falls on the last day of February this year, a leap year. How will you spend that extra day?
Good question. Never gave it a thought! I do know that if that was the day I was born on I would be hurt not having that day every year to celebrate.
2. What has recently required a leap of faith on your part?
I missed this question in the line up when I worked on this yesterday. I don't have an answer.
3. We're one week into the season of Lent...are you marking these 40 days in some way? Giving something up or adding something extra to normal life? How's it going so far?
I was not raised in a church that did Lent. However I am on my low carb diet and it's going great!
4. When was the last time you sat beside a fire?
I know you have your lovely fire pit to sit next to Joyce. I think I sat next to a fire back in August last year. Living in Southern California we hardly ever use our fireplace.
5. Surf and Turf is on the menu. Do you order as is or do you ask for just the surf (lobster), just the turf (steak), or a menu so you can select another option?
I love surf and turf so if I was having that I would order as is.
6. If you could have any television program back, not in reruns but in new episodes, what program would you choose?
Brothers and Sisters, I loved that show. If I went back further I would say Chicago Hope and ER.
7. They say an elephant never forgets. These days would you say your memory is more like an elephant or a gnat?
Well I am not like a gnat. I am not more forgetful, I have always had issues with retaining information. I feel I am still pretty good and the elders is my family had excellent memories up until their 90's and beyond for those that lived past 90.
Insert your own random thought her.
Remember how excited I was to watch The Tree of Life? It had been the one movie I didn't get to see in preparation of the Academy Awards Best Movie nominations and it arrived from Netflix just days before. Well I have never been so disappointed in a movie. Mark wanted to turn it off 20 minutes into it. It went on for 2 1/2 hours! I apologize if you saw this movie and loved it. We even googled it afterwards asking "what did the movie Tree of Life mean?" Sean Penn was in the movie and here is a review he did for The Guardian Newspaper.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

More great getting to know you
Glad to see your review about The Tree of Life. We're supposed to have that coming soon from Netflix...I think I might change my mind.
I just saw The Muppets last night and loved it! Well worth the money!
I think I would be disappointed as well if today was my birthday. Have a great day. ER was a good show!
My brother was a Leap Day baby and I was always a little in awe of him when we were kids because his birthday was so random.
Too bad about The Tree of Life. That's disappointing!
I heard Tree of Life was awful from several people. I don't think I'd mind a Leap Year birthday now...I'd be younger, right? : )
I don't see question #2 - ??
I answered ER to #6, too ... and I forgot about Chicago Hope ... I liked it, too (but ER was my favorite).
Mummm...I loved ER too....but chose Andy Griffith with Joyce.
MY MEMORY IS DEFINITELY LIKE A GNAT. I CAN REMEMBER OFF THE WALL THINGS THAT MATTER NOTHING...BUT IMPORTANT STUFF, I BETTER WRITE DOWN. I JUST LAUGH ABOUT IT...WHAT YA GONNA DO?
I loved the TV show Designing Women. Such clever writing! ..I did like Chicago Hope also.
It has not been cold enough here this year for a fire...but we had one or two last year. Hope we get to have at least one this year!
I usually cannot eat surf and turf...so I just ask for one.
Hope you have the lovliest of weeks.
I haven't even heard of that movie. Now I'm curious. LOL I used to watch Chicago Hope and ER too! Love them both!
ER aother great show. I haven't heard of the movie Tree of Life-but now know not to watch it.
You know - my memory is at it's worst when I'm stressed. Otherwise I can be an elephant. Well, or close to one at least ;-)
I've heard that more than once about The Tree of Life. I've only seen previews, and the cinematography looks stunning, but I guess the "storyline" is extremely confusing.
I loved all of those old medical shows, too, especially ER! When I first retired, I used to watch all of the reruns on satellite :)
I love that you do this!
I do miss ER and Brother and Sisters was great also.
I liked ER as well. Maybe that's why I like Grey's Anatomy..because it deals with the medical field. I don't think I'd like the idea of not having a birthday every year. Somehow, there would have to be an unbirthday celebration at least. I liked learning more about you!
I love reading your answers and see more about you and where we are more alike. This time - not as much - lol. sandie
I no longer observe Lent but there was a memorable year in college when I gave up all sweets.
Thank you for praying for my sister, Debby...Christine
always love reading your responses.....wishing you a super thursday.
I had to laugh about the question dealing with memory! I can remember things from my childhood, but can't remember by supper what I had for lunch! I keep a journal and if I don't write during the day, by night time, I can't remember what my day was like and that's the truth! It may possibly be that I'm on my computer all day reading about other people's lives and so I get them mixed up with my own! :)
fun getting to know about my blogging friends!!
happy March!
I love the thought of leap year being an extra day.. I spent mine traveling home from a vacation in FL...
I thought about ER, but that's one of the shows that was really good at the beginning, but went past its prime (my opinion, anyway!).
I haven't watched TV in over 7 years now, but I sometimes watch TV series on Netflix. No commercials and I can watch as much as I want. Brothers and Sisters is one I watch.
I love surf and turf too. So good.
