1. When were you last 'on a mountaintop'? You may answer in the literal or figurative sense.
Probably in July of last year when we were in Mammoth Lakes. It is 9,000 ft. above see level. We do live about 1,500 ft. above sea level in our house on a large hill but it feels like a mountain sometimes. We do get a great view of the mountains.
2. Do you establish and maintain a strict budget in your household? What is one piece of financial advice you would offer someone just starting out on their own?
Our home is there on the top of the hill.
It's nice and green this time of year!

No but I've been informed that a budget is coming! Have to start practicing retirement..... Advice, don't forget to plan for your future because retirement arrives quicker than you think!
3. Cherries-yay or nay? Cherry pie, cherry cola, black forest cake, or a scoop of Ben and Jerry's Cherries Garcia...pick one.

Fresh cherries for me. I do not like them any other way.

Probably not but I am sure I have at some point in my life. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
5. When you take a road trip do you prefer to be the driver or the passenger? Where were you headed on your last road trip?
5. When you take a road trip do you prefer to be the driver or the passenger? Where were you headed on your last road trip?
I like to be the passenger but lately I'm thinking I should start driving. I'm just not liking being the passenger to Mark's driving somedays. He follows way too close and it's always a race to get somewhere!
6. If we peeked inside your closet, what color would we say is most prevalent?
No color is more prevalent in my closet. It's a wide variety of colors.
7. Who's your favorite senior citizen and why are they special?

7. Who's your favorite senior citizen and why are they special?
Well that would be my father and he is special because he is my father! He is a kind and gentle man. He is a people pleaser. He turns 90 this June. I was thinking that maybe when we get closer to that time I may ask if anyone wants to send him a card so he gets a lot of love in the mail.

you have all peaked my interest to watch "Downton Abbey" so I watched Season One on Netflix with Wii. I love it! So Season 2 will be arriving today on DVD and I can't wait to watch it. I have heard that Season 3 is not as good :(

The birthday card idea would be fun. I bet he'd enjoy that!
You have a wonderful view. We're up high too, for NJ : ) Not like the views from the Smokies, but it is pretty here too.
Enjoy your day!
Beautiful view you have.

Love the picture of your dad. I too like Downtown Abbey and am getting the retirement budget started too. Two more years and I am out of teaching...will have to find something else to do....can't fully retire.
That's exactly what I'd like to do for Chris's 50th birthday in April! I mean...who doesn't enjoy getting mail? Your dad would love it! He's so cute! Oh, how I'd love to live in place like you do...what an incredible view!
oh, season 3 is good...just some sad things happen. but that is life...even on TV!! Great picture of you and your dad. You are blessed to still have him!
Let me know if you do the card thing I'd love to send your cute Dad a Birthday wish! I haven't watched Dowton Abby yet but want too....Have a great Wednesday!

What a beautiful view you have! Happy birthday to your dad! And season 3 was still good, just lots happening that surprises you...enjoy!
I'm a new fan of Downton Abbey, too, and I love it! I'm nearly finished with Season 2.
You are so right, retirement arrives much quicker than we expect!
Been a Downtown Abbey fan from the very beginning Debbie. Did Hodgepodge today on my blog. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great answer to the special senior! I'd be happy to send him a card.
Love the picture of you and your dad. That is so special.
Oh me too! I love cherries fresh, but absolutely can't tolerate them in things like pie - ick!
I'm in on the birthday card! All the way from Norway!!
Ever since my money troubles a few years back I have been very consious about the money I spend. That's why I prefer to pay cash and not with a credit or debit card. That way I can keep my eye on the amount of money I have left!
Yay for Downton Abbey. I thought this season was better than 2, so who knows. Enjoy! I am in for the birthday card for sure, what a lovely thought. Ann
What a great idea for you Dad's birthday. I'd send him a card for sure :)
Looks like a beautiful place to live.
good post Debby...
What a beautiful view you have! Enjoyed your answers. Remind us about your Dad's Birthday, I would love to send him a card. That is too cool! Great picture of him, you can see the kindness in his eyes, bet he is sentimental too.
until next time...nel
Mmm fresh cherries, a favorite of mine. But Cherry Garcia ice cream is really good, too.
I don't have a budget, but I'm careful with money and make sure I'm saving.
And let us know when it's closer - I'll happily send a card to your Dad!
I'd love to send your dad a card on his birthday! Then I could tell him what a fabulously wonderful daughter he has. But then, I'm sure he already knows that. I love fresh cherries too but I also love cherry pie and Cherry Garcia and nearly anything else with cherries. I love the location of your home. What a view! My husband is the same way driving. Do you think it comes with age? LOL
I love that view from your house. Oh yes a budget sadly know that one. My parents with dad just retired have had to watch spending.
P.s. you look great in that pic with your dad.
I love the picture of you and your dad, Debby. I'd be honored to send him a card for his birthday if you decide to have him "flooded" with birthday wishes :)
LOL with retirement, you are right!! We're feeling it too! Budgets aren't too bad, you do get used to them and like I said before re-prioritize where your interests are :_
betty
I liked the first 2 seasons of Downton Abbey, but what I'm hearing of #3, I think I'm done.
Looks like your house is in a pretty area.
What a great idea for your Dad's birthday! When you start planning that, I'll send a card! :)
I know what you mean about your husband's driving. Tim's driving really sets me on edge most days and he gets so upset with me if I say anything or act scared of something. I hate to even think about when he gets old and we have to tell him he can't drive any more. Maybe that will be the kids' problem? I can hope. ;)
Bet my husband drives faster with more stress than yours!
I love your dad being your favorite senior.
