I just realized something....had one of those light bulb moments! It has always bothered me when they sold pajamas as separates. Seemed to be a way to get more money for the item because they usually cost more than when you buy them as a set.
Recently I bought a new pair in a smaller size. I want to start to get rid of my bigger pairs. Well the bottoms are perfect and the top fits great but afraid it will shrink when washed. So I went ahead and bought a few pairs in the next size up. The top is perfect now but the pants are big. I am going to keep them but from now on I will buy separates.....why didn't I think of that before?

Did I mention that I saw a few movies lately? I saw MUD which was with Matthew McConaughey which was very good. Matthew McConaughey did an excellent job.
"Two teenage boys encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trail and to reunite him with his true love."
I saw 42 which was excellent! This is a must see movie.
"The life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey."
I also went to see The Great Gatsby with Leonardo DiCaprio. In typical DiCaprio form this movie was a huge production and I thoroughly enjoyed it. (honestly....when a movie is 2 hrs 22 min long and I didn't go out to the bathroom you know it's got my full attention!) Also Tobey Maquire did a wonderful job. I remember Leo on Growing Pains but truly started to admire his acting when he was in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. He should have won an award for his performance.
" A Midwestern war veteran finds himself drawn to the past and lifestyle of his millionaire neighbor."
Recently Joyce asked a question on Wednesday Hodgepodge about what gets our blood pressure rising. I should have answered....people talking or texting on their cell phones! I was on my way to the show on Tuesday and I was behind an older Corvette. It seemed to be going slower and slower and I looked down and we were going 57 mph. I was on the freeway which is 65 mph. I looked to see if I was clear to change lanes and I did. When I passed this guy I looked over at him. His head was down and he was texting on his phone. When are people going to get it? You can't text or talk while driving!!!! I can feel my blood pressure rising as I type this.
Enjoy your weekend and have a
blessed Memorial Day!

my bp went up just reading about your corvette man... this week i was almost hit head on in a 35 mph street by a cell phone user and it happens almost every time i leave home. so far FL has not made it against the law. the texting is but they are not allowed to stop them just for that.. why even make the law....
Not sure about any of those three films. What about romantic comedies??
Love your light bulb moment with the pj's! I've noticed more and more drivers crossing the center line and usually they are doing something with their cell phone!! Sometimes while waiting for a stop light, I will look around and start counting how many people are on their phones. Very dangerous!!!
thanks for that memorial day reminder. :)
i always wanted bikinis to be sold as separates. my top and bottom never was the same size. now as i'm older, i don't buy bikinis. :)
I think I'd like to see Mud and 42. Not much interested in Gatsby. I didn't like the book in school, nor the first movie. Maybe I'll give it a try when it comes out of video.
If I don't get to see the Great Gatsby on the big screen, I'm gonna kick myself
Thanks for your movie input. I love to go to the movies and would like to see the Great Gatsby. I read the book many years ago.
Have a nice weekend.
I was always bothered by the pj selling as separates, too - but you're right, sometimes you need two different sizes for top vs. bottom, so it does make sense! ;)
Ooooh! I want to see MUD and Gatsby - glad to know they're worth it! :)
People texting or talking on their phones while driving gets my blood pressure up, too. When will they ever learn?
Have a great weekend, Debby! :)
Country Stars Shine Bright: Friday Fragments
I've always had to buy stuff like PJ in separates when available. I guess I'm out of proportion! lol
MUD sounds good, I may have to check that out.
The cellphone thing while driving is ridiculous!
There's a hefty fine for being on mobile phone, but still see many using them.
The Great Gatsby seems to have mixed reviews, so great that you loved it.
Hugs.
My sister in law buys just the pants and wears them with t-shirts. I've seen some cute sets with t-shirts too, but I have your problem with a set; my tops are all 2 sizes bigger than my pants.
I agree, 42 was a fabulous movie! They told the story well.
I* SO agree on the texting or talking while driving. A couple years ago a woman was talking to her boyfriend while driving. She was almost home and he heard the accident both outside and on the phone. She was pregnant and he got to listen to his woman and his child die. It was so sad to read about and just such a waste. Texting while driving is worse. When will people learn?
Now my BP is up too. :)
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
My blood boils too I hate it and hate it more when i see an older person doing it because they know better. Have a wonderful weekend!
Debby it seems whenever I am in a near miss it is someone holding a cell phone. I don't think they think it can happen to them. I like the movies your critiqued. I remember Leo when he was a little on one Growing Pains too. And you got some new pj's for your trip I bet. Love, sandie
I'm glad pajamas are sold as separates because I wear pj bottoms but not tops. I wear them with a camisole or t-shirt.
I really want to see Gatsby! I will wait until it is on dvd and I can grab it from the library though. Very smart on the pjs.
LOL I hear you about separate PJ's, I'm just now being able to get a Large to fit both my top and bottom but now my bottom is staying in a large and my top is going to a medium ... ugh.
I love you keep me up to date on movies, I so never get out so I have to redbox or buy and it's nice to know what is good.
Man I was wondering about The Great Gatsby. You know my hang up on remakes. PLUS that is one of my favorite books that I read in High School. I may have to give up my thoughts on remakes and give it a shot!
I so AGREE on What's Eating Gilbert Grape. My SAME thought goes to when Denzel went up for that stupid movie Training Day over Sean Penn for I am Sam. Ok off my soap box!
HOLY smokes texting while on freeway! yikes!
Love that cartoon!
Never heard of the movie MUD... It sounds really good. Several movies I would like to see pretty soon.
42 and Hangover 3 are playing at the drive-in through Thursday! Rich really wants to go, but we've been so busy and it's hard going when he has to work the next day :-/ (Doesn't start until dark, which means we'd be out until at least 1:00 or 2:00)
Texting while driving is definite NO in my opinion. (Almost think that's the cause of our accident last fall...) I think talking on the cell phone while driving should be limited to quick calls (in low traffic areas) unless they have a hands-free device and then it's totally fine with me. :-)
