1. What's your worst food memory? How about one of your best?
I never liked meatloaf growing up, not sure that it is my worst memory. Best steak ever at The Palm Restaurant in San Diego. Mark and I still talk about it!

Well I don't know what the subject matter is here but I like to hear the truth.
Well at home I spend most of my time in my office. Computer, desk, couch, TV, etc. I guess I like hanging out at the movies but I think my answer will be at my dad's house in Florida.
4. When do you most feel like you're a slave to time?
Probably spending too much time on my computer and watching favorite TV shows in the Fall. I thought this was interesting: What are we to do? How can you not be a slave to time? Here some ideas.
- Get rid of excess clocks
- Watch less TV
- Enjoy what you are doing
- Focus on the task at hand
- Plan ahead-make lunch the night before; get your clothes ready
- Clear your to-do list. Stop taking on new projects.
- Say no when asked to do stuff-It’s okay
- Realize that life is about enjoying yourself
5. What was the last concert you attended? Who'd you go with? Was it any good?
It's been years since I have been to a concert. At least that is what I remember. Mark and I went to see Steely Dan and it was awesome!

6. Reality TV...harmful or harmless? What's your guilty pleasure when it comes to reality TV?
I think it can be harmful in some ways and in others it is harmless. Never been a huge fan. Sure I have watched American Idle and The Voice which have been fun at times. I enjoyed watching Tori and Dean when they were on but my guilty pleasure is Big Brother since it first aired in 2000. My other guilty pleasure is The Housewives of New Jersey.
7. What's something you think is overrated?
Going with the question above I am going to say Reality TV. From Honey Boo Boo to the Kardashian's I think it's all a big waste of time in my opinion.
Yes my answer is a contradiction to #6 (a statement or phrase whose parts contradict each other)
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I talked Mark into going to the show on Saturday. I couldn't wait to see "THE BUTLER" and after the movie he thanked me for making him go. This movie is excellent, in my opinion, and very moving. I was raised without prejudice, my parents were not racist and I find movies like this touch me deeply. Black history is a big part of the history of the United States.

I have more to say but I don't want to ruin the end of the movie for those of you who will see it. Just let me say that it brought me to tears, the big heavy ones. Actually just saying that has brought me to tears. I will buy the book and the DVD when it comes out, just like I did with The Help, because I want to make sure my future grandchildren read about it and see the movies.
"As Cecil Gaines serves eight presidents during his tenure as a butler at the White House, the civil rights movement, Vietnam, and other major events affect this man's life, family, and American society." I get my movie information from IMDb.

We don't have a tv, but when we were on vacation I watched that Honey Boo Boo show for about 2 minutes and it was soooo trashy. I think I lost a great number of brain cells during that time ;-)
I agree that the reality shows you mentioned are a big waste of time. Lisa's right--I think it sucks out brain cells. : )
Debby...I am hooked on the Real Housewives of New Jersey and Orange County! Wonder what will happen with Teresa and Joe after their arrest? Should be interesting! Who do you want to win Big Brother? I really hope that Helen and Amanda get sent home SOON...they're running the entire house!
worst food memory.. I hate onions, always have. daddy and mother loved them, he grew his own, both the regular ones and the green salad onions. daddy made me take a bite out of the green part of the onion, lets say he was very sorry.. i still don't eat onions. unless they are hidden and well cooked.
last concert was Glen Campbell in 1969, the only concert. i remember the year because son dan was 2 and mother kept my two sons.
since i retired i have not been a slave to time. love it.
i am with you all the way in the fav hang out
well not at your dads house HA HA
I used to hate meatloaf too! I love the tips on how not to be a slave to time. To do lists - yes, always. Setting my clothes out the night before - yes, always. I'm checking items off the list.
Wishing you a lovely day.
xoxo
Debby - I am a contradictory in terms too when it comes to reality tv. It depends what it is and who is watching it. Some of it is trash and some of it is okay if I watch it and some is okay for everyone - like Dance With the Stars. sandie
i'm with you on reality tv being overdone. sometimes it pollutes the airwaves. semi-scripted reality. yuck.
the only show i watch is survivor and have for every season it has aired.
I totally do not get the whole Honey Boo Boo thing. Why do people want to watch this one? Some of the reality shows I get the appeal, but not this one.
So whatcha' going to be watching this fall? I need something new : )
I hope to see The Butler too.
I used to love Steely Dan, back in the day :) I'll bet they gave a good concert!
I can't understand why anyone would watch Honey Boo Boo! I'm embarrassed to live in the same state as these people!!!
The computer seems to be my big time stealer, these days. Oh well, the housework will wait, right?
Man the truth is good but it sure can sting :)
I need to do some of that list not to be a slave anymore.
I so want to see the Butler. Glad Mark liked it too.
We absolutely love the Palm Restaurants too! Great atmosphere, service and delicious steaks!
I have eaten at the Palm Restaurant and agree with your review of it. Yummo. I am so glad you did a review of The Butler. I will go and see it now.
I love these posts of yours!! I like the minimalist attitude and I love that the time of day isn't a big concern for me most days! I looked at the clock a few min. ago and said 'oh it's almost 2:00...time for my nap". LOL ps...I hate reality tv shows, but sometimes have good ideas for more themes for different shows
I agree that Honey Boo Boo is over rated. I do not see what Anderson Cooper sees in it.
My favorite food is crab or lobster. I'm pretty sure those foods would be important in a good food memory.
I also watch The Real Housewives.....hanging head in shame.
Big Brother & Real Housewives - you're speaking to my TV heart.
Yep - I'll admit- I'm a slave to my DVR in the Fall too! & the spring finales!
I want to go see The Butler - I think it looks great. Love seeing all the stars acting like the former presidents!

I definitely want to go see The Butler ... I didn't know that it was a movie made from a book. I want to read the book first ... so I'll be ready to watch the movie when it comes out on DVD.
I think I will go see the butler even though I do not usually go to the movies it seem like a just can't miss. I love the your favorite spot is your dad's:) We will have to make it to the Palm sometime...My hubby LOVVVEs steak!
I want to go see that movie, BUT, it is fictional, and not to be taken as fact, so that should ease your mind a bit. I just read an article about it today.
Yes, I want to go see "The Butler", too. My daughter has said she will go with me. I like movies based on true stories. Glad you...and your hubby...enjoyed it!
I have heard some great reviews on "The Butler". Plan on seeing this soon.
some reality shows I enjoy...others not interested in...I like Duck Dynasty...I've given up American Idol...I like people that speak their mind...but I don't enjoy the ones that take it to the extreme to hurt others...
I have to agree with the time saving ideas. A few I need to try.
I can't handle reality TV, I don't watch normal TV, there just aren't enough hours in a day to get in the middle of someone's life.
oooooh! That movie sounds good and since it's a book I'll have to check that out first. Maybe I can get in one last read before the summer ends! ;-) It's funny you say that about meatloaf because it is my FAVORITE! My husband used to hate it until he got my mom's recipe and now he loves it too!
As for TV...I don't watch a lot of those reality TV shows but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Biggest Loser and Judge Judy (which I suppose are reality TV). I don't watch a lot of TV, but being an Amazon Prime member I can get a lot of free movies/ shows so I'm in the midst of watching Downton Abbey and LOVING it!!!!
I'm probably the most contradictory person I know, just ask my husband!
Next time I'm in San Diego, I will have to eat at The Palm!
I like the tips for not being a slave to time.
Oh I must heed some of your time management tips. I am AWFUL about saying NO to things!
