1. Do you have an interest in learning about your family's heritage? Why or why not? If you know a little bit about your roots, share an interesting piece of trivia or a fun fact about someone who goes way back on your family tree.
Sometimes I have a very strong interest but I lack the ambition to do the work involved. I know that both sides of my family came over from Europe.
2. Branch Rickey, the baseball exec credited with signing Jackie Robinson, is quoted as saying- "Luck is the residue of design." Agree or disagree? Why?
I guess that is one way to look at luck but I still believe that some luck is just being in the right place at the right time. Of course I can't discount the fact that God is in control of my life.......
3. In the town where you currently reside, what's your favorite green space?
I don't have one in this town. I barely know the town we live in now so I will say my own back yard.
4. Who is your favorite comedian?
I don't watch many comedians these days but there is some great talent that has come from SNL. I found this list of The 50 Funniest Stand-Up Specials and I always enjoyed Bill Cosby, Steve Martin and I do think Chris Rock is very funny. (I was thinking stand up comedians when answering this question.)
5. March is National Nutrition Month, and almost everyone needs to improve their diet in some way. What about you? How can you improve your nutrition on a daily basis? Will you try?
I think I am doing a pretty good job on my intake of nutritional food but what I lack is exercise and that is what is needed for me to improve my health.
6. Which of these green expressions have you 'experienced' in recent weeks -green with envy, green thumb, green around the gills, or give the green light? Explain.
I'm going to say green thumb since non of the others fit. My white Christmas Poinsettia from 2013 is still blooming, my Poinsettia from 2012 has blossoms and my Christmas cactus is blooming again!
7. Where is one place you don't mind waiting?
As a rule I am pretty patient when it comes to waiting, but to answer the question I guess I will say in line at an amusement park like Disneyland/World.
8. Insert your own random thought here.

I was curious about your answer about hardly knowing the town you live in. Have you not lived there long?
#8 made me giggle - sounds like a good plan!
Maybe with the spring you'll be able to fit in more exercise.
Steve Martin is so funny! We just watched The Muppet Movie, and his cameo is great!
my dad's grandfather died in the battle of Shiloh and most of daddys family is in the plot at a church named Shiloh, but it is in Georgia.
my my mothers great grandfather came from Scotland. that is it on my history.. i do have 6 generations of the tree because it is in my bible.
my favorite green space here is Emerson Point...
I dont believe in luck, i think we are the masters of our own lives.. i do believe in Murphys Law and that is my motto.
Bill Crosby and Steve Martin are awesome choices! There are several great comedians. I mentioned Lucille ball on mine.
Visiting from the hodgepodge linkup.
laughing at that last 'plan'. :)
rita rudner is a great comedian. paula poundstone always cracked me up.
You do eat a lot better than I do. I need to get my diet in order! And my half sister did our genealogy for my dad side - wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy far back, you could do it easily!
Love, sandie
Yeah, I'd say you have a green thumb. Your flowers are beautiful. Aren't they such a cheery thing during the long winter!
I entirely agree with your thoughts about life and luck.
Saturday Night Live has produced a great bunch of comedians! I like all of them.
What an interesting random thought you have today :)
I don't know my town either....my back yard is my favorite...nothing wrong with that! I love your Christmas Cactus I bought one this year and I hope it blooms! Happy Wednesday!
I sure don't have a green thumb! Russell had lots of houseplants when we married and either I killed them or they just committed suicide knowing I would kill! It's pretty sad!
My favorite comedians are the old ones without the awful language. We are going to see Bill Cosby this weekend and I love his comedy!
I'd love to do some looking into my ancestry, but am just plain too lazy!
Lol I love your random thought! I just showed it to my kids ha ha:)
Great minds think alike...I said waiting in line at Disney too. haha
Love your Aunty Acid comic..
me, too, Debby...need to be back in the gym!!
I so agree Steve Martin and Bill Cosby are two classics not sure anyone could ever compare.
LOL love #8 Told Cole that the other day!
Steve Martin is one of those people who I can just look at and laugh. Love Bill Cosby too. I'm ready for warm weather so I can get back to some outdoor activity. I've been good about boot camp, but I love walking and hiking and it feels like it will be months before it's dry enough and not too muddy for that. Enjoy your day!
Exercise is definitely the best way to lose weight. We look forward to more walking when spring finally arrives.
Pretty poinsettias I had a red one and noticed the other day it needed water but still looked good.
I enjoyed your answers and learning more about you. I need to exercise more - maybe spring time will be a good time to start!
Debby...I'm right there with ya on your random thought! That's pretty much what I tell my girls all the time. A little fear goes a long, long way! ;)
I'm impressed! My Christmas cactus is also blooming right now, but I can't keep a Poinsettia alive past January.
LOL with #8! I too don't mind waiting in lines at places like Disneyland, only because I love to watch people LOL :)
I'm not sure what much there is to do in the town where you live; maybe not much to go out and explore?
betty
I have done quite some research into my family tree and was amazed by the amount of children that were born and died within a short space of time. It certainly made an impression on me.
Chris Rock always cracks me up.
I think luck is often disguised as hard word.
I do know the town I live in and still would pick my backyard as my fave green space!
You do such a wondeful job with your house plants. I'm terrible with house plants...the only thing I can manage to keep going is the veggie garden :-)
