Volume 174
Join in the fun!
1. It's still May, right? When were you last in the middle of something that might be described as mayhem?
That would be at bowling yesterday. Too many woman and too many opinions when voting on something!
2. When did you last feel dismayed?
Sorry, don't want to bring anyone down but I seem to experience this quite often these days.
3. What's a food combination you like, but other people may find strange?
I'm not sure others would find this strange but I had recently read that people use Nutritional Yeast Seasoning on their popcorn so I bought some. I love it!!! I don't have popcorn very often so next up is using it on my veggies.
4. "It is never too late to be what you might have been." Do you think that's true? Why or why not?
I guess in many respects that can be true unless you wanted to be an astronaut and your now 75 years old! I think that we all have an opportunity to improve ourselves.
5. US News and World Report listed the best historic destinations in the US as follows-Washington D.C, Philadelphia PA, Williamsburg VA, Charleston SC, Boston MA, Richmnd VA, Savannah, GA, Santa Fe NM, Yellowstone, San Antonio TX, San Francisco CA, New Orleans LA, and Charlottesville VA. Of those listed how many have you seen in person? Which two sites on the list would you most like to see in person?
I think I have seen 3 of them in person. Well there are several I would like to see but the top two would be Washington DC and Boston MA.
6. May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. If you had to participate in a single fitness activity for the next half hour, which activity would you choose?
I would choose walking.....
7. What did you like best about the city, town, or neighborhood where you grew up?
Well we were walking distance to the Brookfield Zoo. We always had fun 4th of July celebrations. Also I was just a block away from the grade school which was nice. That was back when the schools went up to 8th grade. It was a small town although there were other towns close by.
8. Insert your own random thought here.

These May questions are clever! Being within walked distance to Brookfield Zoo would be fun! We are only a short drive away, but it has gotten expensive. Lincoln Park Zoo is still the right price...free...but then we still have to pay for parking!
My - I wouldn't know where to begin. I'm dismayed every day - when I watch world news. I've been to Yellowstone several times, and to Washington, D.C. once - as a small child so don't really remember much about it. If I choose an activity, I'd walk. Need to do more of that. Where I grew up was in the middle of farm/ranch country. The little town was maybe 200 people - no crime or bad stuff going on - at least not by today's standards.
Debby...you must visit Washington, DC...you would love it! So much history and so much to see and do! What exactly does the Nutritional Yeast Seasoning do for you? Health benefits? I've never heard of it before.
loved growing up in a small town, too.
Saying a prayer that your dismayed heart is revived with joy today! Love that last phrase...lol... Me too:)
Hope that better days are incoming.
I love nutritional yeast on popcorn! Bragg Aminos is tasty too.
Hi Debby! I love Santa Fe. I've been fortunate enough to go twice, and I fall deeper in love each time.
I am in the Chicagoland area myself. Brookfield Zoo is a treat because it's gotten so expensive. Well, what hasn't really? Interesting thing about the yeast. Never heard of it!
And I agree that I can redirect myself to do what my heart desires. It's just going to take a belief in my dreams :)
Blessings,
Ceil
I've been to Santa Fe and San Antonio. I love The Alamo!
I hear ya about the dismayed :)
I've never heard of Nutritional Yeast Seasoning.
LOL love Aunty Acid :)
Haha! I love your random. :-)
I love the east coast! I wish we had been in Boston more than a day, Washington was great too! So much historical landmarks and amazing museums.
We love putting Nutritional Yeast on our popcorn...and eggs! Yummy! It would be so fun to be within walking distance of a zoo...unless a critter escaped. Imagine the excitement!
Hi there, I love reading these questions and answers. Mayhem would describe our move-and unpacking. Still missing so much.
Our weather has been like that too-some days nice in the 70's, then heavy rains and then snow. I'm ready for spring and summer to stay and stop this winter stuff.
Thanks for sharing Debby!
Hugs, Noreen
Too many women with too many opinions has been the story of my life this year. I'm wrapping up a volunteer position that I cannot wait to finish. It hasn't been the fun it could have been! Sorry you're feeling dismayed. It's an awful feeling. I've never heard of Nutritional Yeast as a seasoning? Will have to look for that.
You and I should both be genius's.
Debby, you're so fun!!
Hope you don't mind if I participate again!
1. The worst? Two escrows in 4 months, and then packing and moving after living in a home for 29 years, two years ago.
2. I'm with you. But, it usually happens when I look at my own abilities to deal with life.
3. OK, I make this salad with garbanzo beans, kidney beans, olives, corn, peas, cucumber, and pineapple. Then I douse it with fat-free Catalina dressing. Sounds weird, but I think it's delicious, especially after chilling for a few hours. Maybe I should name it "Fiber in a Bowl!"
4. Yes, it has to be true, because I recently turned 60! It's true because God has promised to work in and through us every day of our lives.
5. I've seen 3. I'd really like to see Washington, DC, and Boston - mostly because of the history in these places.
6. Yup, walking. And maybe not walking to the refrigerator...
7. The big local park.
8. Count me in the genius ranks.
Happy Week to you!!
I always like your random thoughts, Debby. This one was cute. I could imagine it was hard for the women at bowling to agree on something, we do seem to have our different opinions sometimes. I hope you get to DC sometime, I really enjoyed the two times that we visited. Lots to see there!
Hot here!
betty
I can see where living close to a zoo would be awesome!
Loved your random thought! Lord knows I've made my share of mistakes, too...
yeast seasoning on popcorn? yep, never heard of that one..
So sorry about your dismay. It is definitely no fun. I love your Aunty Acid! lol
I've never heard of that seasoning...I'll have to read up on it! :-)
I'm going to have to try that seasoning...we eat popcorn often. Have a great weekend Debby.
I adore nutritional yeast. I am not kidding you, I can not get enough of the stuff.
I've been to all but two of the historic cities on that list. Actually lived outside Boston and worked in DC, and stayed with sisters who lived in Philadelphia and Savannah.
