Volume 205
Join in the fun each week!
1. American Idol is back for a 14th season. Are you watching? Have you ever watched? If you were to audition for the show (or were made to audition), what song would you sing?
Yes I am watching. Haven't watched all of them but probably at least 9 season's. Missed some in the beginning and didn't watch the year before last because of the judges. I'm going to go with Moon River only because I sang in back in H.S. for an audition in chorus.
2. Mark Twain is quoted as saying, "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."
So when did you last have to 'eat a frog'? Or two? How'd that work out?
It's about procrastination and that is something I am working on. It is best to face the big challenges of the day head on first thing in the morning.
3. If you were going on safari, what is the number one animal you'd want to see?
Definitely without a doubt it would be Giraffe's!
Brookfield Zoo September 2014
4. January 21st is National Granola Bar Day. I know. Do you like granola bars? Chewy or crunchy? Your favorite flavor? How about regular granola? Let's exhaust this topic in honor of the holiday okay?
I like Granola bars but don't eat them very often. I always liked the crunchy ones. I also don't have regular granola very often but have a great recipe that was given to me from one of Mark's aunts over 30 years ago. It is delicious and fun to make.
5. If only__________________________.
That is wide open for a lot of things.....if only I could hold my children again as babies, if only my mom was around to have lunch with, if only we could all live to be 100 and parents didn't have to bury their children...............
6. You can add one item to your bedroom. What will it be? Keep it family friendly please.
I can't think of a thing. I love our bedroom and we don't have a TV in it which was Mark's decision when we moved into this house. Didn't like the idea at the time but bedtime is for sleeping and I doubt we will ever have a TV in a bedroom again.
7. What is one thing you've enjoyed about winter thus far? If it's not winter in your corner of the globe, what season is it, and what is something you've enjoyed about whatever season it happens to be?
I guess I would say the rain. We have needed it in California so I welcomed it. Also it turns our hillsides nice and green around our area which are otherwise just dry the rest of the year!

8. Insert your own random thought here.
So if you follow me on Facebook you know about the boiled eggs I forgot about on the stove on Monday. No water left, eggs burned and one even exploded to the floor. Thank God the doorbell rang which made the dogs bark so I went to see if someone was at the door.
I believe that is a God thing because the UPS guy left a package and drove away. Then about 15 minutes later he came back because he forgot he had a few more for me. That first one was a sign from God and I am thankful.....
I also learned something new. I panicked yesterday when I realized that I had left my SD card from my camera in my computer slot and all my pictures from Adam's birthday celebration were only on the camera. Learned how to move them from the camera to my computer and also learned that I could transfer them to the SD card.

We don't have a TV in our bedroom either. We decided that way back when we first got married.
These are all such good questions this week! I sang Moon River in chorus when I was in 4th grade. I've always liked it!
I would be lost without my TV in the bedroom, when bob watches football i have a TV to watch. i also shut my mind down with mindless TV 30 minutes before i can fall asleep, think QVC HSN mindless.. or Andy Griffith reruns. what i would want in the bedroom is the TV up on the wall at the foot of the bed instead of to the side on a stand. i alsow have it on when i am sick, it lulls me like a lullabye. Hubby has never watched it, he is in control of the BIG scrreen. my bedroom tv is 36, so now that i think about it a 47 would be nice on the wall.
Giraffe is my choice to...love Granola bars but don't buy them because just like cookies i get out of control. i love granola from the big barrels at the health food store
That was a God thing indeed with the eggs, Debby. I did that with potatoes a year or so ago (now I set a timer, LOL, if I have something cooking on the stove). I'm watching American Idol too this year; I do like the judges. It was a wise decision Mark did about no TV in the bedroom, I hear that is a good thing for people who suffer from insomnia or sleep problems, not to have the TV in there but to use the bedroom only for sleep (and maybe some other things, LOL)
betty
Well your the second one I've read that chose giraffe. It would be mine hands down too. Such magnificent animals! We have never had a TV in our bedroom either and I think it is a good choice. Sounds like a total God thing on the egg story! Love to hear things like that... Enjoy your day!
I am not tech savvy at all and I worry about my pic's all the time. Glad you figured that out! I didn't quite understand the boiled egg story, but sounds interesting!! No tv in our bedroom either! We tried it for a short time and I hated it. And yes, I would love to hold my children as babies again too.
good save on the photos (and the eggs, too!) lots of things to wish for... no tv for me, either.
You had some very good "if only" thoughts...
So glad your egg story had a happy ending! I always worry about forgetting something on the stove.
I'm finding that giraffes are the most popular answer today :)
I missed the egg thing, but I've done similar and it's scary. I'm not sure if it's aging or just too much on my mind, but I've started setting the timer when I put something on the stove, even if I don't need it. That way I get a reminder : ) You have such a pretty view!
Oh, I love the giraffe pics and the beautiful California hills!
I haven't been into Idol but I did catch a few lately, I really like J Lo.
I love that Giraffee!
We have a TV in our bedroom and, lately, I'm thinking it's to my detriment because I haven't been sleeping much. These past two nights, I have been wide awake until around 1-2 AM and I think it's because I watch shows that get my mind swirling. Might have to rethink it. CA. looks so pretty...I need to add it to my "must see" list!
aw love the giraffe photos! Also what a peaceful photo of your town. I am guessing that is the Santa Clarita mountains?
The judges on Idol that season were terrible. Glad they seemed to have cleaned it up a bit since. So thankful that UPS man came and you found the empty pan before it was any worse!
Hi Debby! I love giraffe's too! Their purple tongues used to fascinate me as a child. Remember when we could feed the giraffes at the zoo? I remember feeding them marshmallows and peanuts in the shell. No wonder they stopped everyone from doing that!
I used to watch American Idol, I think I stopped after Carrie Underwood won. It's a fun show, but I think I just got a little bored with it.
So glad you're getting rain in Calif. You guys need it!
Blessings,
Ceil
I think you and I are the only ones who still watch AI. And I like your "If only" answers. I used to live in northern CA and got a kick out of how they were called "Golden hills" when really they were just brown, and very dry, and a fire hazard! So, yes, it's definitely better to have them green!
For years, I watched American Idol, but I guess I miss the old judges so I haven't seen it in a long time. I don't think it was a coincidence that the UPS driver came back. A few months ago, I pinned this quote that I really loved. It read, Sometimes I just look up, smile and say, "I know that was you, God! Thanks!"
Enjoy the rest of your day... :)
Liked your if only answers. Glad the UPS man came, and yes, believe it was God looking after you :)-he has a way of doing that sometimes.
I liked your answers - and thank God you did not burn the house down - I think it was a God Wink for sure.
God is so Good!
American Idol has taken my crush on Harry Conick Jr to a new level! LOVE
And yes, read your egg story! Thank goodness God was watching out for you :)
I have a tv in my bedroom. I kicked the man out instead. LOL Glad you figured out how to get the pictures off the camera!
Giraffes are so amazing. I don't know if I could sleep without a tv in my room...that's how I get to sleep at night!
No TV in our bedroom - I have enough trouble sleeping without added noise. I believe I'd like to see a Cape Buffalo.
Oh wow...many moons ago I played `Moon River` on the piano. We would have made a great team!
Oh, I just realized, (moons) no pun intended :)
I did go on safari in Tanzania - I liked the big cats best, but also amazing to watch the giraffes, and also the wildebeests and zebras during the great migration.
I had a television in my room for a while, but never watched it. If I want to watch telly, I will go to the living room and watch there.
I like my granola bars chewy, with peanut butter and chocolate involved.
