Volume 209
Thank you Joyce!
1. When did you last have to interact, either by phone or in person, with someone in a government run agency? On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the experience? (10 being fabulous and 1 being pass the Tylenol)
It has been a long time since I have had to interact with someone in the government.
2. The current governor of Wisconsin is considering a run for President next time around. Walker attended Marquette University, but never graduated. In terms of any candidate running for the office of President (not asking here if you agree or disagree with Scott Walker's politics) would the lack of a college degree influence your vote or no? Would that be a factor in your support of any candidate running for public office, even a role less weighty than President?
That is a tough question. There are a lot of amazing people in our world who never attended college. I'm not sure a college degree would influence my vote.
3. When did you last visit a place or site named for George Washington or Abraham Lincoln, and what was that place or site?
Can't remember, it has been a very long time.
4. February 16th was President's Day in the US, but did you know it was also National Almond Day? I didn't think so :) Do you like almonds? If so, what's a food/dish/recipe you enjoy that contains almonds?
Yes I like almonds. I eat them raw and I always have almond milk in the house.
5.The television program Saturday Night Live celebrated it's 40th anniversary this past weekend. Were/are you a fan of the show? If so what has been your favorite (or one of your favorite) skits, sayings, or characters that came out of the program?
I have watched SNL since day one and my DVR is set to record it each week! The 40th Anniversary show was excellent! There are literally too many to list because I have loved so many over the years but for today I am going to say Bill Hader's Stefon! He cracks me up.....
6. Anything purple within ten feet of you? What is it?
No, it's not my color but my smoothie today with blackberries looks purple.
7. Back in December I asked you to submit a question for a future HP as part of a giveaway I was hosting. I grabbed this one from those entries, submitted by Zoanna who blogs over at Penchant for Pens. Thanks Zoanna!
She asks, "How often do you make your bed, and how do you like to make it-pull the covers all the way up over the pillows, tuck the covers in around the pillows, or place all the pillows on top of the covers?"
I make the bed each morning and I currently pull the covers all the way up over the pillows.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Had a great visit with Adam on Sunday. Poor guy went to Urgent Care on Monday to check out a cough he has had for a few weeks and found out he has bronchitis. Has been put on steroids. He texted me and said "Like mother, like son!" He has a very busy week here in L.A. so I hope he feels better soon.
Heading out to Palm Springs on Monday with Mark to meet up with my sister in laws Michele and Pam at Fantasy Springs Casino. That is where we stayed in November 2013 when they came to California to get married. Can't wait to spend a few days with two of my favorite people!

I do NOT like milk so I was excited about giving almond milk a try. While it doesn't taste like milk, it still is too milk-like (?) for me to like it. Bummer.
enyou your trip and hope Adam feels better soon... i love almonds but have never tasted milk of any kind other than from a cow.
no purple in my house.
i make my bed as soon as i stand up. i can't stand and unmade bed. i prefer a spread that covers the pillows but right now it is yank it up and add the pillows.
I'd love some Palm Springs kind of temperatures right about now : ) Enjoy your trip!
love almonds - my favorite in mixed nuts. but i've begun eating more raw ones, again. sorry about adam! you are an SNL nut! wow!
I love Bill Hader too! Have a fabulous time in Palm Springs, you lucky girl!!
Have a good trip!
Happy Wednesday!
Poor Adam! But I guess if you are going to be sick, better to be sick in Southern California weather than Pennsylvania weather; hope he feels better soon! Safe travels, Debby! Enjoy your time with family!
betty
Have a blessed day.
Mama Bear
I hope your son is feeling better. Enjoy your getaway :) We are still in a deep freeze here.
Hope Adam feels better. These colds are a pain!
Have fun in Palm Springs!
Hubby & I have gotten to where we prefer almond milk over dairy. It has more calcium and has a much richer taste.
Our guys prefer 2% dairy milk.
I sure pray your son feels better quickly!
Yes, like mother - like son :)
Btw, how are u doing?
Have fun next week!!
I hope Adam gets over his bronchitis soon! So many people are sick with respiratory infections this winter. It can't be that it's not cold enough. I too have almond milk in the refrigerator at all times and love almonds. At Christmastime I bought a good stash of almonds because they were on sale and store them in the freezer. Hope you have a wonderful upcoming trip. Sounds great!
Enjoy your trip! It sounds like fun :)
Hershey Candy Bar for number 4. Have a great week.
Hi Debby! Stay as healthy as you can, I know it's cold and flu season...
I wrote an article recently about my experience with a government agency. I called all the time and never got the same person, or a call back. Argh!!
I don't make my bed. Why? My husband is kind of a fanatic about it though, so it does get made in spite of me :)
Blessings,
Ceil
Hey there~
Praying your son feels better soon. God bless!
Laura
Stefon was one of our favorites too! We miss Bill Hader!
So sorry to hear about Adam. Hope he's better soon. I forgot about the cartons of Almond Milk in my frig. That is the only milk we drink. Enjoy your trip with S'sIL this week.
I love Stefon and thought the 40 year show was great.
Almond milk! I forgot to list that in my answer, but I always keep Almond Breeze on hand. It's much easier on my stomach than regular milk. You make me want a blackberry smoothie now!
Hope Adam feels better soon... bronchitis is horrible! The fact that the governor has no college degree is irrelevant for me... for goodness sake, he is a governor of his state; obviously a very smart man. :)
Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I'm not sure about Almond Milk, however to each their own.
Hi Debby, I love reading your answers-i love Almonds and only use Almond milk. I think Palm Springs sounds wonderful with warm weather; we are in the 60's today but have 10" of snow on Saturday. I just don't have enough energy yet to get out and walk. Hope you have fun with your family, enjoy the warmth.
Hugs, Noreen
I found raspberry coated almonds at target last week...if you are an almond lover you might need to try those babies :) not so healthy but wow yum!!!
I didn't know the walker guy didn't have a college degree...hmm...I think it is kinda weird for a pres... :)
Purple is not my color either ...I thin its a color you either love or...don't :)
Have a great week Deb!
Making the bed? Just pull the covers up and done. I only have one pillow and that is visible at all times. I do want the lower end tucked in though, I hate cold feet!
I have known some people with a college or university degree who were very blond on the inside (ie dumber than a castrated peanut) and people with only a few years of high school who were very clever. I think it's more a case of using what you have to the best of your abilities instead of showing off with a piece of paper. (I haven't got a college degree and I don't think I am dumb)
Lately I've been hooked on making smoothies with almond milk. Love it!
When I make the bed, I pull the comforter up to but not over the pillows.
