Volume 214
Thank you Joyce!
1. This coming weekend is Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week. Do you celebrate Easter in your home? What was your favorite Easter tradition as a child?
We normally gather and have an Easter dinner. Not sure what we are doing this year. I think my favorite Easter tradition as a child was getting the new dress and shoes which I wore to church.
Speaking of this coming weekend, if you watch "Call the Midwife" or "Mr. Selfridge" they both premiere on PBS this Sunday!

2. George Weinberg is quoted as saying, 'Hope never abandons you, you abandon it.' Agree or disagree? Share your own thoughts on the word hope.
I do agree with that quote.
I do agree with that quote.
3. Weigh in with a yay or nay on the traditional Easter candies. A solid milk chocolate bunny? Cadbury Creme Eggs? Peeps? Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs? Jellybeans? Coconut Cream Eggs? Of the candies listed, which one would you most like to find in your Easter basket?
Yay on a solid milk chocolate bunny. Nay on a Cadbury Creme Eggs. Yay on Reese's PB Eggs. Nay on Jellybeans. Yay on the Coconut Cream Eggs. I would definitely want the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs in my basket!
4. When did you last feel 'like a kid in a candy store'?
I'm going to say walking through Sprouts and picking out organic fruits/vegetables.
5. What's something you know you do differently than most people? Does that bother you? Does it bother other people?
Interesting question....you tell me?
6. Palm Springs CA, Palm Beach FL, or the PALMetto State...of the three mentioned, which sunny spot would you most like to visit right now? Which have you visited at one time or another?
I've never been to South Carolina so I will pick that one but I definitely want to be on the beach! I was in Palm Springs, CA in February. I've never been to Palm Beach, FL but have spent a lot of time in the state and at beaches on each coast.
7. If you could change the length of a day would you lengthen it or shorten it? Tell us why.
I don't have a clue. It is fine with me just the way it is. I know people wish they had more time in their day but I believe once they had it they would just want more. It's okay to have down time to relax.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Finished going through the Christmas boxes that needed sorting out. I had five bins to go through and 5 boxes of plush. I got the five bins down to three and the 5 plush boxes down to 3 which is great.
However I still have way too many decorations when it comes to Christmas. I now have 10 bins of decorations, 3 boxes of plush and 8 containers of ornaments. Will have to cut back even more next Christmas.
In the meantime I will continue to work through the house this year in an effort to have "Less":

In the Netherlands you can get small chocolate eggs in all flavours, my favourite being the white ones. However, I have never seen them here in Norway and my sister says she has the same problem in Northern Ireland. That is something I miss, although my body is okay with them not being here.
I, too, remember fancy Easter dresses and shoes! Reese's peanut butter eggs are my absolute favorite! Thx for telling us about the PBS premieres. Enjoy your day.
There are plenty of beaches in South Carolina ... and you surely know which one is my favorite! ha!
Slow and steady with your work, Debby, next year maybe you'll be able to get the Christmas boxes down another two per category. I think of anyone I know, you go all out with the holiday celebrations. I remember reading about how you send gift cards to all members of your family, how you bring in food from all over the country for your celebrations, etc. I think that's neat and there's not too many other people I know that does that!
betty
like a kid in a candy store feeling was 3 days ago when i opened the cooler in Dollar General and bought a box of Nutty Butty ice cream cones..
I live in FL the Sunshine State and have no desire to go to Palm beach.. to many people.
we have no Easter traditions now, but until 10 years ago, we had ham for dinner and the kids came over. before that when i was a child it was the one time a year i got a new church dress and shoes.
Well good for you! I'm sure it feels good to reduce the inventory. I feel like I might have to indulge in a peanut butter egg before this day is over : )
You must visit SC some day, Debby! It's a beautiful state with plenty of Southern hospitality. I'm impressed with what you're doing with your Christmas decorations...and I thought I had a lot!
Oh goodness, I really need to do this too. I have too much that sometimes I feel the house is bursting with junk! Time to weed through it.
Love the stuff quote you used...I am feeling the same way.
i like that graphic. :) i have one small box of christmas decorations and one box with a wreath in it. that's it. and the only candy i'd want would be jelly beans. :)
I'm glad we both love the Reese's egg! I like jelly beans just not the nasty black licorice ones. bleh.. The one's at See's candies are pretty good.
Thanks for your condolence, i appreciate it. :)
Debby,
Thanks for the reminder about Mr. Selfridge coming back this Sunday, I had forgotten but absolutely love the show. The fashions are simply wonderful as well as the look back in time.
I'm a huge fan of Peeps, and can pass on Cadbury Eggs, there just is something about eating chocolate that looks like an egg that doesn't sit well with me.
You're a lot like me, I love Christmas Decorations and add to them every single year. I love yard sales because you truly get unique and vintage things that you can't find in the store.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
I think you decorate your Christmas trees differently than most! I have a lot of decorations too, but not as much as you and I only have one tree. I think that is a great way to be different :)
I do not like jelly beans but I adore anything Reeses!
This would be my choice, solid milk chocolate bunny.
I love chocolate.
Congratulations on making progress in reducing your Christmas inventory. I know that can't be easy. It wouldn't be for me!
Thanks for the tip on Mr. Selfridge and Call the Midwife. I didn't know :)
Hi, Debby!
I love the beach!
However, I haven't been in forever and have not been to the west coast.
If I am going to have chocolate I prefer it with nuts.
When I was young my mom made most of my Easter dresses.
The one I really despised was 100% Polyester..UGH
Y'know, as I typed out my 'yes of course I want more time' answer, I thought, 'I'd just fill that up, too...' I need to figure out how to use what I have ;-)
Love that quote! I need to destuff...
I did have a better day today, thank you for asking...I stayed home. Thank you for visiting my blog page. BTW, what is "Plush?"
I like chocolate bunnies, Cadbury Creme Eggs, Peeps and Jelly beans are all good. But I don't like Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs or Coconut Cream Eggs.
We just had a new Sprouts open next to Hobby Lobby in its new location which is just up the road about 5 miles or so...I haven't been by yet but I'm thinking I will soon, maybe tomorrow...
Mama Bear
Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs? YAH
Coconut! BOO!
I've never been to Sprouts. They are opening one kind of close to where I live and I can't wait to check it out.
