Volume 219
Thank you Joyce.
Go on over and join us!
1. What's a phrase your mother often said to you? If you're a parent, is this something you now say to your own children?
Wait until your father gets home! I am sure I probably said it at some point but not very often.
2. What is a scent you associate with your mother or your childhood home?
That would be gardenia. My mother's favorite flower and fragrance. We actually have a bush near our front door and I will pick one for Amber from time to time because she loves them too!

3. What's an activity you remember always doing with your mother (or someone who was a mother figure in your life)?
My mom did get involved with my Girl Scout troop once and went camping with us. She did not have a good time. I don't have a lot of childhood memories.
4. Flared jeans, maxi dresses, and jumpsuits are 70's fashion trends back this spring. Are you on board? Which trend would you be most inclined to try? For the men...flared corduroys, wide-collared shirts, and floral prints...what say you?
No I am not on board with them! If I had to I would wear the flared jeans.
5. May 6th is Teacher Appreciation Day and also Nurse Appreciation Day. Is there a nurse or teacher you have especially appreciated along the way? Tell us why?
I don't have an answer here except kudos to both teachers and nurses. What would we do without them!
6. If I came by your house, what would I find on your frig door?
Besides the water and ice dispenser you would see nothing. Very, very upset that my frig does not do magnets. My entire refrigerator at my last house was filled from top to bottom! I have a large collection and I still buy them sometimes.
7. Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana made her royal entrance on Saturday, May 2nd. On a scale of 1-10, how much attention did you give to all the news coverage? 1=Who's Charlotte? 10=sat glued to the telly, cuppa in hand.
Well I was a 10 but not on the telly. I was watching on Facebook and checking news online!

Coming home from the show last Wednesday afternoon I saw a squirrel cross the road in our community. We have lived here for over 8 years now and it is the first one I have seen here.
We never had them at our other house in CA that we lived in for 17 years either! Squirrels use to drive our dogs crazy in Western Springs, IL. I usually only see them at the beach or in Mammoth Lakes each summer. Skye would go crazy if she saw one!

I was a 9 on Princess Charlotte, same as you on line only... the only scent that takes me back is that face powder they still sell, in a round box with orange and black specks all over it. can't remember the name. that is from my two grandmothers. no scent for mother. the only thing i did with mother was snap beans, shuck corn, pick veggies, cut veggies and can stuff.
if i were not so fat i would wear the jumpsuits. back in the day in 1980 to 1986 i had 4 of them. hubby loved them and asked me why i don't getone. i said are you blind?
saw the news of the royal birth on msn but didn't really read any more about it. i did like the name choice, though.
congrats on a squirrel sighting! bound to be more soon!
i helped my mom do laundry every saturday morning and hung the clothes on the line to dry. we talked a lot over the ringer washer and rinse tubs. :)
Isn't that a cute squirrel photo! LOL. Sorry about your refrigerator. There's a wee bit of space left on mine, if you want to use it. :-) Isn't the royal baby cute. I do think she looks like her daddy.
You must have a stainless steel refrigerator. I do, too, and I don't like it very much (the exterior, anyway). How are we supposed to be reminded of family, dear friends, and appointments w/o refrigerator magnets??!!
We have loads of squirrels. They're okay here, because we have plenty of woods, but our house in MD they wreaked havoc with the bird feeder. We don't have a bird feeder here because of the bears. Lotta wildlife in our backyard : ) Happy Mother's Day to you!
I remember my fifth grade teacher fondly. We have been sending teacher gifts all week! :-)
I thought everybody had loads of squirrels... I could send you some! Ha
I love the smell of gardenias, too, and my bush has been loaded, lately.
I didn't realize some refrigerators didn't support magnets! Live and learn. I love my magnets :)
Stopping by from the hodgepodge. I'd be lost without being able to fix things to my fridge.
I waited for the baby, but didn't watch it all the time. Glad your mom was in the girlscouts. We have squirrels everywhere!!!!!!
I can't believe y'all don't have squirrels out there! We'll be happy to ship you some! :)
We had lots of squirrels in Murrieta :) And you are right, Skye wouldn't like them, Koda never did :)
It is always fun to put magnets on fridges, shame when we can't, which was two houses ago that we lived.
betty
I really enjoyed your answers, and chuckled over your squirrel answer. We have so many of them around here, our pooches have grown quite blase'.
To number 1. I'd have to say I always knew I was in BIG trouble when my mother used my whole name... which I'm afraid I did to my own daughter a time or three.
Oh my goodness- My dog Lila lives for squirrel hunting. She literally stares out the window looking for squirrels and then when she sees one she whines and we let her out and off she goes. They have gone nose to nose several times. One squirrel loves tormenting them. haha
I saw where the royal baby had arrived - other than that, we paid no attention. The press hounded Diana to her death, so I hope they leave Kate alone.
A fridge that doesn't allow magnets? ack!
Flared jeans came back in about ten years ago, too. I have several paris that have a small flare (boot cut, I guess). I like them. I don't like the way I look in maxi dresses, though.
I love Gardenia's, don't want any of those fashions to make a comeback and we have squirrels and rabbits galore. Spring has sprung!
Always love your hodge podge, Debby! As for squirrels, we have a LOT in our mountain neighborhood! Wonder if they'd be interested in a relocation project?! :-)
Wow 8 year no squirrels what a blessing. We are covered up with them they are taking over. I don't know what we have to look forward to in the garden.
I love 70's styles...
