1. Did you do anything 'memorable' this past weekend?
No I did not.

"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same."
Your thoughts? Do you somehow acknowledge and appreciate the freedoms you enjoy? Did your upbringing contribute to that sense of appreciation? If you're a parent, are there specific things you do to pass on this sense of responsibility and appreciation to your own children in regard to the freedoms they enjoy?
I believe Ronald Reagan's statement. As far as acknowledging and appreciating my freedoms I do thank God daily for that. I would say "yes" my upbringing did contribute to that sense of appreciation. I do believe that we also taught our children to have an appreciation and respect for our country just by our actions.

I'm thinking that it would have been some military planes flying overhead at an aviation show we would have attended with our children when they were younger.

Onion dip with chips and yes I enjoyed it very much. The dip was made with half yogurt and the chips were NON GMO Sweet Potato which were a little healthier but still not good for me.

Probably waiting in line for a ride at Disney World.

I feel organized when I travel and yes I make lists in advance! No way I am a carry on person. I refuse to go through the airport with baggage or try to get something up in a bin. If it doesn't fit under the seat it is not going with me. Taking my camera and computer are all the carry-on I can handle besides my purse.

It has been years since I attended a sporting event in person. Don't know if they won and most likely I didn't care unless someone I knew was in it!

One of the many fish Mark caught in Canada. He had a great time on an island for a week. They only ate fish a few times and the rest were all catch & release. He loved hanging with his brother and the other guys. It was one of those shower every other day kinda trips which if you know Mark that is not like him at all!
FYI: MARK'S MOM FINALLY GOT HER MOTHER'S DAY CARD FROM US YESTERDAY. IT WAS POSTMARKED HERE ON MAY 1ST......ONLY TOOK 26 DAYS TO GET TO HOUSTON.

The postal service is a mess anymore.... We've had so many things, personal & business, that has been so late in arriving
glad mark had a good time! usps...yikes! :) the loudest thing i've heard in recent years is the buttheads that live behind our tree line have a cannon which they shoot off occasionally. rattles my windows and my bones... scares the bejeebers out of everyone!
I can't believe the card too that long to arrive! That's ridiculous! Chris has gone on a fishing trip to Canada before and he LOVED it!

high school football was the only sporting event and that was 50 plus years ago..
my last junk was 2 weeks ago i bought ruffle potato chips and onion dip and we had burgers and chips.... my favorite meal... loud noise is the bratz next door..
Oh my gosh! I used to love eating chips and french onion dip! I may need to try the healthier version! Of course I don't need them at all. I think we can all agree anything that deals with a line is the worst way to feel packed in to something! I couldn't imagine it at Disney World though! I bet it was out of control!
Oh, those chips sound good!! I'm a carry-on person only, too! No waiting in lines for me. I even avoid going into JoAnne's if I think I'm going to have to wait in line. And besides that, I'm not risking the airline losing my luggage.
Have you tried making onion dip with plain Greek yogurt? It is so good. Trader Joe's sometimes has the onion dip mix so I feel like that with Greek yogurt is healthy ;) I try not to think about the potato chips- LOL.
The loudest noise ever was probably 52 teenagers and 5 adults clapping, stamping and screaming along with 'we will rock you' by queen. All this on a coach, a very small confined space, while I was honking the horn! Incredibly I didn't go deaf!
I got a card from the Netherlands after only three days, a letter from the hospital I went to (3 hours away) took more than a week! So, the Norwegian postal services aren't any better than yours!
Wow that is ridiculous with the Mother's Day card for your mother in law! The post office needs to reimburse you for the stamp I think and figure out why it took so long to get there!

Wow, the postal service messed up that one! ;o Usually that kind of thing happens if you live in the middle of nowhere. I don't care for onion dip but I love the Costco artichoke and jalapeno dip! We call it "crack dip" You just can't stop.

I'm pretty organized about packing. I typically pack and re-pack to make what I'm taking as compact as possible.
One of my most favorite snacks ever is potato chips and onion dip. The one made with sour cream and onion soup mix. I bought the ingredients to make and I may be doing that tonight. YUm!
The fishing trip sounds awesome and that is a nice fish he's holding.
We had thunder a week ago that seriously rocked our house and it was the loudest boom ever. I was still shaking after that one for a good half hour afterwards. I normally love storms and have never been afraid of them.

26 days??! That is crazy! My hubs went trout fishing today, and brought home dinner. He's going to grill them in foil, and I'm excited to see how they taste.
I agree and support number two - we had better appreciate our freedom and the USA or we won't have it much longer like it is....I loved Reagan. And I think we taught our kids well too about that.
Oh, yes. Those lines at Disneyworld are definitely crowded.

Onion dip made with yogurt is a big hit at our home. We love it.
The postal system is killing me. My check is mailed these days and it takes almost a week everytime. I sent a thank you card to my employee and it took over a month. I thought someone took the Starbucks card and threw away the card .. lol
