Volume 224
Head on over to Joyce's and join in the fun!
1. June is National Great Outdoors Month. Have you spent any time appreciating the great outdoors this month? If so where, and if not do you have any plans to enjoy the great outdoors before the calendar turns?
Yes we did the Lavender Festival on Saturday and I have a post ready to share with you next week when I am in Florida.
Then later in the day we sat at one of our favorite pizza restaurants where we enjoyed a few drinks and talked. Two hours later we ordered some salads and had a few slices of pizza before we dropped Adam back off at their condo. He is in town working this week.
2. What's a current hot button issue for you?
The Republican party and the changes they would need to make, but won't, to win an election!
3. What's a food or treat that 'disappears like hotcakes' in your house?
If I were to put out a bowl of Peanut Butter M & M's the bowl will empty pretty quickly. Of course a bowl of berries will disappear quickly too!
4. How hot is too hot?
When it gets to be around 100 degrees outside it is too hot. Now that is in Southern California so the number is lower for me in other states with humidity.
5. Do you have an artistic outlook on life? What does that mean to you?
I'm not sure but I am definitely a dreamer. What does that mean to me.....hope and change! After all I am 100% Bohemian........
6. What's one question you'd like to ask your father, or one you wish you could ask your father?
I can't think of anything. I am blessed to be able to talk to my father everyday and I am definitely a person who always has questions. I will be seeing him on Saturday and I can't wait to celebrate his 92nd birthday next Thursday.
7. Something you learned from your father?
Love, compassion and equality for all. To help others whenever you can. Of course my mother had a compassionate heart too!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I forgot to tell you that we had someone out two weeks ago because the dryer has been taking a long time drying. Two hours for our bathroom towels! The man from Sears was sure it was our vent which would require a duct cleaner. I got online and had someone out the same day. Three hundred $ dollars later all is well with the world and the towels are back to taking only 40 minutes to dry......

I love it hot... it is never too hot for me
Wow, the duct is crazy, but I'm glad you got it working! I'm super frustrated with politics and really the American public who are like sheep and just go along with a candidate without understanding what they represent or stand for. So glad you had time with your son!
Glad you got the dryer fixed, Debby. That did seem like a long time to dry a load of towels. The money to fix it was worth it since you were using extra electricity or gas when it was taking too long to dry before.
Your day with Adam seemed like so much fun! That sandwich you posted on Facebook, delicious!!
I know you are looking forward to your trip to Florida!
betty
I hate our 100 degrees in Dallas. Its raining today and I'm so happy. I do not like our hot summers. I really wish I was San Diego!!
enjoy your visit with your Dad. every minute is priceless.
good thing you had him clean that out, i have read that can cause fires and i have been nagging bob to clean ours out, i am sure it looks like this.. anything over 78 makes me whine, anything under 50 makes me whine. i prefer low humidity and about 75 degrees... daddy taught me one thing that i have always used in my life, there is right and there is wrong and we know which is which....
I know what you mean about the temperature. As you know, 100 degrees in California is a lot different than the muggy 100 degrees in Chicago!
I'm with you on the Republicans! I used to be a staunch Democrat but as I've aged and had kids, I have veered more on the other side. I think we need a Republican president but they can't seem to get their acts together!
Ohhh I love peanut butter M&M's. Some day I'd love to travel to your area. Your pictures are beautiful and I'd love to not have to deal with so much humidity.
Our dryer was taking way too long to dry, so we got a vacuum and cleaned it out. It worked much better, but it's gone back to taking a long time again.
Hi there, I love your answers and I love the picture. If we have a bag of Peanut M&M's they are gone within a day. Colorado hot is 100,but it is more humid there than in Ca. As long as there is a pool around or a lake, I'm a happy girl. Today has been really rainy in Ireland and while the rain makes everything so green and beautiful, I could not live in that climate-just too dreary for me. I need the sunshine and warm weather. It has reminded me of San Francisco.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Noreen
ooheee! good reminder on the dryer duct!
so glad you're getting to celebrate with your father. :)
Yup, I'm not good with humidity either. I'm down visiting family at the beach, and the moister air is driving me crazy!! Also, when it gets hot inland the fog is pulled in off the ocean. They don't call it "June Gloom" for nothing. Ugh.
The vent pictures were quite impressive! Wonder if that repair person could clean out my sinuses???
GOD BLESS!
HOLY crap on the vent! Expensive but in the long run so worth it saving on time drying things and money for it take that long :)
So glad you got the vent taken care of. I have heard so many stories of fires starting in clogged vents like that. Could not agree more with your hot button answer. The whole political scene these days is more than distressing. The American voters are like blind sheep following whom ever offers the most without checking out what that person actually stands for. Bohemian? I think I figured that out about you. Bohemians are very loyal and stand on principle. I like that! Enjoy your trip to Florida. So glad you got to spend an enjoyable evening with your son. They are special!
It is so nice that your dad is still around - and you still go to visit him - seems like a good man - and here it is near 100 degrees - too hot to do anything outside....
Glad your dryer is back in business. I love peanut butter m and ms.
Enjoyed your answers as well and your #2 was good too. Happy mid-week!!!
I have a great dryer. It only takes up to a day to dry anything! When I left the Netherlands I left my dryer behind and here in my tiny house there isn't the room to have one! So, air-drying it is.
I get out and appreciate the outdoors virtually every day.
Those lint-filled vents are a huge fire hazard so good that you took care of it!
