Volume 230
Thank you Joyce.
1. I recently read here about four secrets to happiness from around the world. They were-
Overcome your fears by facing them head on, allow yourself to relax and reset, work to live versus living to work, and find the good in life. Not sure if these are the actual secret to happiness, but which of the four do you struggle with most? Which one comes most easily to you?

I struggle with overcoming my fears and facing them head on. Find the good in life comes most easily for me but it is more about being thankful for what I have.
2. How would you spend a found $20 bill today?
Go to the show, have some popcorn (no butter) and a large bottled water.
3. Ego trip, power trip, guilt trip, round trip, trip the light fantastic, or trip over your own two feet...which 'trip' have you experienced or dealt with most recently? Explain.

I'm going to go with round trip because I recently drove 75 miles to Escondido to meet up with Alexis my blog friend who was visiting the San Diego area and drove back home a few hours later.
4. If you could master any physical skill in the world what would it be, and how would you use that skill?

I'm not sure.....
5. As July draws to a close, let's take inventory of our summer fun. Since the official first day of (North American) summer (June 20th) have you...been swimming? enjoyed an ice cream cone? seen a summer blockbuster? camped? eaten corn on the cob? gardened? deliberately unplugged? watched a ballgame? picked fruit off the vine? taken a road trip? read a book? Are any of these activities on your must-do-before-summer-ends list?
I have been swimming, I enjoyed some ice cream, I've seen a summer blockbuster, ate corn on the cob, deliberately unplugged, picked some tomatoes and I'm just finishing a book!
Road (beach) trip is still on our list for Cambria, CA and Carmel, CA which we are in the stage of finding a week that works for both of us.
6. The Republican Presidential candidates will debate on August 6th. What's your question?
6. The Republican Presidential candidates will debate on August 6th. What's your question?
I have too many and it would be a waste of time because I wouldn't believe them! What candidate has ever delivered what they promised?
7. What's your most listened to song so far this summer?
I'm still in love with the soundtrack from "Begin Again" and listen to the CD all the time.

Actually my random has to do with part of my answer for #5. As much as I like to buy books I don't read often so I started something new last week. I've been going to bed around 10:30 and reading for awhile which I am enjoying immensely.
I had seen the movie "If I Stay" last September and a blog friend mentioned that there was a book which continues the story called "Where She Went" which is what I am reading right now!

such good answers.
Sounds like you have had a busy summer. I want to read that book. I have heard some good reviews on it.
That's a good idea for reading, Debby. I do the same, but head to bed around 9:30 since we are up early here in the morning. I find it very relaxing :)
So true that a $20 bill would take care of a movie and snacks. What continues to get me is how they can charge $4.00 or more for a bottle of water at the movie theater :)
betty
Girl you have had a fantastic summer! And these questions were thought provoking. I too One thing I am learning these days is to face fears - not because i want to but because sometimes I HAVE to!
I bought Harper Lee's second book, "Go Set a Watchman". It is "To Kill a Mockingbird" twenty years in the future. I haven't started but already hearing some things that will set it on it's ear! Can't wait! Like you, I go to bed to read a little before Sandman hits me on the head!
I have the "If I Stay" books in my classroom and had brought them home to read over the summer. Other books took priority, though. Maybe in the next few months...
Haven't seen the movie though.
Hope you get that road trip, Debby. Sounds wonderful! I do envy you that you're picking tomatoes. Mine are still green. Can't wait to eat them warm from the sun!
I need to start reading more. Aside from the bible, I'm not reading anything right now. I've been enjoying doing crossword puzzles before I go to bed. They make me sleepy. We had the same answer for #1 :)

I love books too but have been in a major reading slump. This question prompted me to pick a book off the shelf and start reading last night. Now I can't wait to get my nose back in the book!
I hope you can stop by:

I totally know what you mean with the reading! I get my hair blown out twice a week (yes, I know it's extravagant, but it saves me about 2 hours a week) and I read while they are blowing me out. I have read 3 books doing this so far -- just with the 45 minutes 2 times a week. Your evening ritual sounds good too, but I'd fall asleep! Have a good week!
I like my kindle but still love holding a real book in my hand. I use the library often and hubs and I do a lot of books on tape when we road trip.
You're right about our questions being a "waste of time". Sad, but true.
I used to read before bedtime, but have gotten out of the habit. I always enjoyed ending the day that way. Perhaps, I'll try it again.
i like your answer to #6. :)
i don't like to face my fears head-on, either.
I love to read too, been up all night reading finished it too.
You have had a good summer!
It's always fun for me to read these little tidbits about yourself. You have an adventurous soul.
Hope you had fun with your blog friend. I know people don't blog like they used to which is sad for me because I really enjoyed that association.
Thanks for the book ideas. I need something to sink my teeth into.
I so need to read that book, I've been in murder mysteries but need something new :).
Thank you again for meeting up with me! It was so awesome to meet up, I so appreciate you driving and having dinner! <3
