I guess this could be a Friday Fragments but I'm not linking anywhere. Downloaded a few photos off my camera but not much there either. I've been so boring lately. Without Wednesday Hodgepodge my blog is rather bare!
Recently I took a few picture of our Bougainvillea's that Mark trimmed a few weekends ago. He only trimmed two of them. There is a third one around the corner leading to the front door.
The reason I did this is because I think it is time to hire someone and they can have a visual of how he likes them trimmed. I'm tired of him up on the rooftop and climbing ladders. They are now ready for the Santa Ana winds we get throughout the winter months.
While I was out there I snapped a recent photo of our Norfolk Pine Tree. The one pictured below is from 2011 when I put blue bows on the tree for Jack's Tree. This tree is just growing like crazy. I just love it.

Next up is my new eating plan. I'm not calling it a diet because I already eat a healthy diet of fruits and veggies along with following a low carb way of living. This is about portion control because even though I may eat healthy I am still eating too much food.
Because I can't exercise very much, including walking, I am hoping this will help me lose some weight. I'm so tired of being heavy. I did not order the whole kit which includes DVD's for exercise, I just ordered the additional set of portion sized containers. There is plenty of information out there to help you figure out how to use them. YouTube videos too. Wish me success......
Put the coffee mug there for a comparison.
On a different note Mark will be leaving this evening from the UK and arriving at LAX tomorrow around 2 pm. Also Adam is flying home to Pittsburgh tomorrow from LAX at 6:30 in the evening. I would definitely appreciate prayers for their safe travels.
A little bit of a funny story here. Probably going to long today but I want it down on paper. Remember when Mark was landing at LAX and the limo driver ended coming to our house instead of the airport but Adam was coming in the same day, they meet up, got Adam's car and Adam drove him home???
Well it almost happened again. It is Tristen's dads car and they are selling it. He expected the papers this week and would take it to CarMax and sell it. When they hadn't arrived yet and he thought he may have to bring the car here which meant I would drive him back to LAX tomorrow.
Okay the papers ended up arriving but it was going to turn out almost the same way again. Mark gets in at 2 pm, Adam leaves at 6:30 pm. Adam could have picked Mark up and Mark would have dropped Adam off for his flight and just driven the car here so Adam could sell it next month!!!!
On a sad not Amber is in the process of finding out if Charlie has cancer. He went in for some routine tests because of his age and they found a mass in his bladder. He has no signs of illness at this time.
Charlie is still the same guy we have loved for almost 11 years. The first test came back negative and his urine is being retested today. Charlie is Amber's life so if you could say a little prayer for him I would greatly appreciate it.

prayers for travel safety and for Charlie.. and i wish you much luck with the new portions... he did a great job on trimming the bougainvillea.. they are so sharp
Oh no ... I'm praying hard over here for Charlie's good diagnosis. In spite of my best intentions, my own 'girls' have weaseled their way into my heart.
Applauding your resolve with those portion containers!
... and wondering where I can get my hands on your coffee mug. (hee-hee) I love it!
That's the program I lost 22 lbs (So far) on... its a good way to bringing eating habits to light.
Did you get it on tv or through a Beachbody coach. If you don't have a coach, you can add me as your coach & I can help you along with your journey :) Love the 21 day fix! It's changed my life.
I love how that plant has crept over your doorway like that - so beautiful!
Loved catching up with you - but oh dear, poor Charlie. You know how I feel about dogs, so my prayers will be with him and Amber. Praying for very positive results...
I've researched that diet with the containers. I've thought about doing it, mostly because I just love little containers! Keep me posted on whether it works for you.
I love the entrance to your home - the quaint, cottage look - which is so highlighted by the bougainvillea. Really pretty.
Have a great weekend.
Oh, and by the way, you picked the right team!! GO BRUINS!!
GOD BLESS!
i do hope for safe travels and for good prognosis on cutie-pie charlie. :)
LOVE your norfolk!!!
My heart stopped about Charlie; I do hope it is not cancer. Will say a prayer. I agree that Mark shouldn't be on ladders; I can't tell you how many reports I type of guys in their 50s/60s/70s falling off ladders and the injuries they get. Such a pretty Norfolk tree; it really is doing well!!

I do hope Charlie is okay. Sounds like you are one busy girl. And I do see what you mean around the scrubs. You do have a beautiful home.I hope you have a great weekend.

sending prayers
Hi, Sending up prayers for travel safety and also for Charlie-it's amazing how these four legged babies become such an integral part of our lives. Love your Pine-it's beautiful and the vine on your home.
Great job with watching what and how much you eat! Well done, hang in there as your body adjusts to less food. I totally understand because I have a very big appetite.
Hugs and Blessings, Noreen
Good luck with your eating plan. That 21 day fix really works.
I have been the same with blogging lately, even neglecting my favourite blogs!
I hope Charlie will be okay!
Beautiful landscaping Debby. A few years ago we began serving our meals on small plates. It seems to help - as long as I do not go back for seconds. :)
Prayers all around and the mix-up with the pick-ups is hilarious...since I'm looking on from the sidelines. That Norfolk Island pine is amazing! Someone gave me one for Christmas, 2 years ago, and it's growing like a weed.
Good for you, eating more healthfully! I haven't been able to exercise due to a fractured OR bruised hip bone. I limp around like I'm 92, combined with the grunts and groans it gives people pause when they hear me.
If possible, Debby, try stretching "exercises" every day. Your body will begin to tone and strengthen even though you're not able to do vigorous exercise.
Prayers for safe flights and good news for Charlie.
You'll do great on the plan. The workouts are intense, I love them but they kick my butt. The food portion size will help a lot it really put a lot into perspective for me :).
