I saw this on Facebook last night....
Mark was all packed that night for his early morning flight on 9/11/01. I remember taking him to the airport very early in the morning and turned the TV on when I got home just before the second building was hit. His flight never took off that day.
I will never forget.....

I think any one alive then will never forget.. i know i will not
It is a good reminder for us to treasure our loved ones since life can be so fleeting. We truly will never forget.

My gosh...it still feels like yesterday, doesn't it? God rest all those souls who perished and comfort their families.
I'm so glad his journey wasn't mid-flight and had to be put down in some strange city!
We were living in Florida on 9/11/01, but DH was here in Phoenix visiting his daughter. She'd dropped him off at the airport and, in fact, he'd already retrieved his boarding pass.
a sobering reminder.
you never know what the next day holds, do you?
9/11 is a vivid reminder of that.
So thankful his flight wasn't one of the planes. I doubt any of us who were alive will forget it. I can still remember sitting and watching the towers.
Have a peaceful, love filled day dear one.

I still have to choke back tears every time I really let myself absorb what happened.
Hard to believe it has been so many years.
wow, time flies
so true.. no one thought that night the world they knew would have ended...
Beautiful post with tender remembering for us all . . .
Oh so close to home. That day is burned in my head & heart too. I was teaching annie about it yesterday & it had been soooo long since I'd seen the footage...my heart broke again. xoxo
Even though I am Canadian and live in Montreal I haven't forgotten this, as it affected us all! I know that some of our firefighters here in Quebec went to help over there. Let us live and enjoy each moment, as we just never know which one will be our last.
