It was an awesome visit with Adam. So sad to see him go home Wednesday afternoon but I know his life is in Pittsburgh. (More to share on that later) He won't be back until Christmas but I'm thrilled about having them here for the holiday.
I made spaghetti sauce in the crock pot, homemade meatballs in the oven and pasta on Saturday. We had crock pot black bean chili on Sunday with corn bread. Lot's of great family time watching football all weekend. Adam also carved up a pumpkin we had, old school design.
Monday they went to Mark's gun club and did some target shooting. Amber and Dylan too! Not my thing at all. Adam went out Monday night to meet up with a few of his friends. They actually carved pumpkins!
Tuesday we had decided to go to Red Robin and then to the show. We were running late for the show so we ran a few errands and caught a later show. Adam needed to pick up Cheetos Crunchy Flamin' Hot with Limon for Tristen because they can't find them in Pittsburgh.
We also ran to Trader Joe's for my Organic Wine and as it turned out they have in their Trader Joe's Fall wine so we picked a few cases of that too. It has been so good each year. The kids picked up more pumpkins for carving.
Then when we got to the show we walked around a really nice pond area that is there to kill some more time. We were going to see Tom Hanks new movie Bridges of Spies.
It was time to go to the show and I decided to take a short cut to the parking lot on a little incline. Adam went with me and helped me but one of my foot slipped and the other leg came down on the concrete pad.
That's when I hurt myself which I mentioned on Wednesday. I torn a strip of skin up about 5 inches long and 2 inches wide on my shin. We decided to go to Urgent Care and have it looked at. I will be seeing my doctor today for a follow up to see how it is doing.
So we missed the show and I felt so bad for making everyone miss it. We ended up back at the grocery store for my prescription. However the day turned out to be fun regardless of missing the movie. The kids carved their pumpkins, we ate pizza and then we played cards for a few hours. It was a fun time!

I'm glad Adam was able to spend some time with you. It sounds like you all had a wonderful time and the food you prepared sounds really delicious. I'm sorry to hear that you injured your foot in the middle of all the fun, though. It's too bad we don't bounce back like we did when we were younger... :)
Oh, I hope it's just the sun shining in his eyes - but Adam looks like he's about to cry. Heart-tug over here!
Those pumpkins look pretty darn artistic!
Those are such cute pumpkins :) How fun too for all the family time you guys were able to have together with Adam when he was visiting :) Also neat too that in a few months he/Tristen will be back to celebrate Christmas with you all! Sorry about your injury, but wise that you did go to check it out; hoping you get a good report from your doctor today. I need to really check out the wines at Trader Jo's. Maybe this weekend.
