Volume 239
Thank You Joyce!
1. What's something that has recently 'tried your patience'?
Bugging Mark since February about taking our beach trip! That is when we decided to stop our 20 year tradition of going to Mammoth Lakes. I know your saying blah, blah, blah because I've mentioned it several times!
So on Monday night we booked a 3 night stay in our favorite town of Carlsbad, CA. It may not be a week at some new destination but I am good with this plan. BEACH TERRACE INN
2. Do you think patience comes to us naturally or is it something you have to learn as you grow? On a scale of 1-10 generally how patient are you? (1=I blow up at the drop of a hat and 10=I've got all the time in the world).
I think patience can come naturally but I also believe as you grow with God you can also learn patience. As a rule I have been a person with patience about a lot of things. I don't mind waiting but I find the older I get I am losing some of that. I am probably an 8.
3. Share about a time when you felt like you could fly. Or a time you wished you could fly. Or a time you felt like you were flying.
I'm not sure about that. I'm thinking probably six years after we were separated/divorced and Mark wanted to come back into my life. It was not an easy journey but it was something I really wanted.
I know it is easy to say if my husband cheated on me I would never take him back but until you are in those shoes you really can't judge what it is like.
4. Your favorite song with the word fly in the title or lyrics, or your favorite song that relates to flying in some way?
Well the first thing that came to mind was Fly Me To the Moon by Frank Sinatra.
5. What's in your fall picnic basket and where are we picnicking in your neck of the woods this time of year?
Good question which I don't have an answer for. I haven't picnicked in years. Maybe that is something I should plan when we are at the beach watching the sun set. It would definitely have wine and cheese in it!
6. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping...which skill would you most like to possess and how would you put that skill to use today?
I think it would be fun to design someone's backyard and pick out the plants so I will choose landscaping.
7. What's something you think is too expensive to justify buying lately?
Probably buying a new car. I love new cars. I use to get a new car every 4 years. My Mini Cooper S is now 7 years old but with 29,000 miles on it I can't justify buying a new one!

I am with you on the Christmas films, although it's hard for me to see them over here. Even if I were to buy them on dvd, it would be a different region and I would have to get a different player (or a very expensive one that plays all regions).
I think I am quite patient, probably a bit too much at times. Although some people would probably call it being lazy and not patient!
Am so jealous you have a Cooper...my HHR is a 2007 and I have
260,000 miles on it....and will probably have a bunch more...we drive them til their wheels fall off here. :-)
enjoyed your hodgepodge
I found a Christmas movie i could not watch this week. i do love them. can't remember the exact title, but something like Tyler Perry's Madea Christmas? it was awful. 20 minutes into it i deleted it.
our cars are old but have low mileage so i am with you. i looked at your vacation spot and wow on the rooms and view and those beautiful waves. might i suggest a picnic on that beach? have fun....
How fun with going to Carlsbad! I hope you do have a picnic on the beach! I agree about not getting a new car with your car having such low miles on it.
Betty
I looked up that hotel and you are so lucky - it looked beautiful! And I sent myself the address for the Christmas Shows - I have been seeing it advertised. And I know you love your Hallmark ornaments!
I've never seen any of the hallmark movies... I'm ashamed, I know :)
I hope you plan that beach picnic, and enjoy your getaway. Being near the water, no matter the season or time frame, is good for the soul.
I checked out the link to where your are going to the beach. It looks so beautiful. I'm so glad you are getting to go.
Thanks for the list for Christmas movies. I love Hallmark Channel during the Christmas season.
I still miss the old Christmas specials from my youth (e.g., Andy Williams, Ahmal and the Night Visitors) ... so I'm tickled to see this Hallmark line-up!
Perfect song!!
I love Mini coops! They are too cute and you have such low mileage. Wow!
I agree with you. No one can say what they would do until they're in that situation. Love is Love and also forgiveness is huge.

I love your car!!!!
I also love that you are excited about Countdown to Christmas! That is so cool. You are an amazing lady.
Well, we both had the same answer for #7! Ha We finally gave in, today, and bought a new car, though. After 14 years, it was time...
I love those Hallmark movies, too. Thanks for sharing the link to the schedule :)
I'm so happy about your beach trip :) Maybe you'll have a wine and cheese picnic on the beach...
Have a happy trip.
I like your car. Cute and Fun!
I love Frank as well, fun choice for a song.
Have a blessed weekend,
Carla
I can't believe your car mileage! Because we live a distance from town and all my kids are in different clubs and I use my car for work, I put 20,000 miles on a year :-(
I've been slow this week about getting around to everyone. Love reading your answers.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Noreen
You are right, no one can say what they would do unless they are in the same situation. You may think you will do one thing but can't really know until you are there, right? It is so nice that you reconciled with your husband and remarried. I know another couple who did that and they just celebrated their 50th anniversary (they married young). I love your Mini. My Town & Country is the same age but has over 80,000 miles! I love it though. Have a great weekend :)
I always enjoy reading your hodgepodge posts! So much fun learning more about you!
As for #6 - I think I'd choose plumbing. After all, who wouldn't want to spend their time digging yucky stuff out of drains, fixing toilets, and crawling underneath dirty houses to fix pipes. LOL! To tell the truth, though, I'm sure glad someone wants to do those jobs!!
GOD BLESS!
Great answers and I love that song, too. I also enjoy Hallmark movies, especially around Christmas... :)
You are so right that you an't know what you'd do in a situation until you've been in it.
Now I am wanting to go on a fall picnic.
I love Carlsbad and no doubt you will have a wonderful time. I have to tell you that I have always appreciated how candidly you write about your marriage. It very easy for us to think in absolutes, but until we actually go through a situation we really don't know what we would do.
