Volume 241
Thank you Joyce!
1. Are you comfortable with silence? If you're home alone, do you like silence or do you need regular background noise? Do you seek out times and places to be silent? What's your favorite place to find silence/be silent?
Yes I am very comfortable with silence and actually I think I need to have that more often. I am so use to turning on a movie while I'm busy on my computer that I think the silence would be better for me. I don't seem to have a favorite silent place.
2. October 28th is National Chocolate Day. Can't let that go by without a mention now, can we? Will you celebrate? How? Let's say you can have one of the following right this very minute... a cup of hot chocolate, a strawberry dipped in chocolate, a bowl of plain chocolate ice cream, or a slice of chocolate pie...what's your pleasure?
No plans to celebrate. My pleasure would be a peanut butter cup or possibly a piece of Dove chocolate. The ones mentioned don't crab me at all.
3. How do you feel about blue jeans? Favorite thing in the world to wear or nope, don't own a single pair? How often do you wear blue jeans in a typical week? Do you own a blue jean jacket?
I love blue jeans and that is what I have on if I leave the house. It will normally be a pair of blue jean Capri's because I just don't wear long pants often at all. I do not own a blue jean jacket.
4. Are you superstitious? If so, in what way?
Maybe a little bit but nothing specific comes to mind. I have to say that since my life became focused on God I don't think about superstitions much anymore.
5. If you had to come up with a costume using only things you have on hand right now, what could you come up with?
I am sure there are plenty of things to make a costume out of hanging around the house but nothing is coming to mind right now. I really don't do costumes at all!
6. What scares you a little? What do you do when you feel scared?
Probably Amber's dog Charlie barking at nothing! I think I would go around and turn on more lights.
7. Perhaps today will be the day I ...........
..... dig in and actually clean out a cabinet......LOL, that's not going to happen!!!

Well I had stuff to tell you here about our time with Adam which was wonderful but it just got too long because yesterday as we were heading to go see a movie I ended up skinning my shin and had to go to Urgent Care. I felt so bad about ruining everyone's day. It was something that could have been avoided. I'm okay and I didn't need stitches. I will do a another post soon.......

Ouch! Glad you're ok!
hope you are better today from your shin bone incident. capri jeans and twill capri are all I wear year round, jeans in cool weather. no jeans jacket either. I need to dig in the dirt that is in the glass nook, but why bother, 4 weeks from now I will dig out the Christmas glass... you don't have enough space here to list all the things that scare me. fear is my middle name
Ooh, the shin is a very tender spot! So sorry, but glad it wasn't anything horribly serious. Dogs barking unnecessarily scare me too. I had to get used to Jazzie, who barks when she sees a deer or a bunny or an Amish buggy - all while lying on the window seat. I always check it out just in case her bark means something more serious.
Hoping you make a quick recovery from your injury, Debby! I know, there's nothing worse than a dog barking at night to make someone wonder what is out there possibly in the back yard. I like total silence, except at night if I'm by myself then I like a little background noise :)
betty
I am a light turner-oner too! Lights and hiding my eyes are my go to for being scared!
Sorry you got injured. I know you felt bad, but everyone was loving on you and it wasn't bad...think positive!
I am light turner oner myself. I don't like dogs barking at nothing...it makes the hair on my arms stand up. Get better soon.
Glad you are okay! Yeppers I like the lights on also especially if I am home alone. Prayers for you!
I hope your leg is feeling better. I'm glad you didn't need stitches, but those kinds of injuries are painful. You reminded me of a time I was home alone and my dog started barking furiously at the closet. One of my hubs shirts (in plastic from the cleaners) had fallen, but I was just sure someone was in there waiting to jump out at me : )
Oh, ouch!!! I don't expect anyone felt their day was 'ruined' ... In fact, I'll bet they're enormously relieved you weren't hurt more seriously.
One of our little dogs has taken to looking up and barking/growing, presumably at nothing. Unsettling for sure! (Then again, what's that they say about babies seeing angels all the time?)
When I am at work there is a continuous noise: from the engine, the radio, the passengers, other traffic. So, when I am at home I love to have silence. Although I will often have music on as well. But silence is a good thing after a busy day.
I'm so sorry about your shin :( and the time in urgent care.
I listen to my iPad while I do data entry, I probably should do silent but I can't seem to work w/o it.
Gee! You must have really skinned yourself up good to have to go to urgent care. Take care of it!
It creeps me out when dogs bark at night, too.
So sorry about your accident and sure hope it heals quickly. I agree with your superstition answer. With our focus on God, there is no need for superstitions, is there. I had to laugh because I could have answered that question about my plans for the day with all sorts of housework. NOT! Just too many other things I would rather do. Maybe tomorrow. Probably not then either. HA!
It creeps me out when hearing dogs bark late at night or the wee early hours in the morning. Ouch! hope your shine heals quickly-these things hurt the worst!
My 'uniform' is bluejeans and a tee shirt - almost every day. And thus us National Chocolate day - awesome.i
Ouch, I hope your shin heals quickly!
Hi Debby, Praying your shin is all better now. I hate doing things like that, I get so embarrassed. I wear jeans all the time except in the summer when I wear capris. Now that I've found fleece lined leggings, I'm wearing those a lot too.
Hope you have a great Thursday.
Hugs, Noreen
oh no, sorry you got hurt.
So sorry, that you were injured but glad it's nothing serious. I've been wanting, to purge my closets and cabinets but it still hasn't happened...Oh well.
Oh no, sorry to hear about your skinned shin and I'm glad you are okay.
Ouch! Shins are so easy to injure and painful. Hope you're feeling better.
ouch!
i love silence. miss it a lot on long work nights...
agree w/ you on the chocolates mentioned. none of those grab me either. give me chocolate covered peanuts or almonds and i'm in.
It's chilly enough in Toledo to take the Hot Chocolate, even though I really am an ice cream fan.
Okay, anything that includes urgent care hurts and is also ego-bruising. I'm glad to hear that the ego-bruising was the worst of it, although a skinned sun still hurts big-time!
{{hugs}} feel better, Debby!!
Hi,
Sending you a HUG! Please keep us posted.
My husband loves Peanut Butter Cups. :-))
Trick or Treat,
Carla
I like silence also. I'm definitely not one of those people who feels the need for noise all the time!
Shins are so sensitive. I had to go to the er once for a shin injury. It almost had to be drained but they were able to get the swelling down.
OMGosh I'm so happy I'm caught up.
