Suddenly it feels like life has gotten busy yet I don't feel like a lot has been accomplished. Monday I waited all day for the vet to call if they had a cancellation. Skye is itchy again and the new medication isn't working. I hate waiting around for a phone call. I just had a nervous stomach all day.
Early Tuesday morning the phone rang and they were able to get us in at 9:30 to see Skye. So off we went. Skye has allergies. A few are food allergies that we had taken care of 3 years ago. Food allergies will show up in their ears or on their paws.
This isn't a food allergy. Her belly and under her armpits she was very red. She is very allergic to flea bites so we have to keep Frontline II on her and treat our yard every two weeks. This wasn't about fleas. She is also allergic to several other outside trees and plants that you can't control.
When we were by Adam and Gabby's last weekend we found out that Roxy has been itchy and got a shot. So I talked to the vet about the shot and we are trying it for Skye. It either works or it doesn't. We thought the other medication, which was $1.61 per pill, was a miracle but it was only because she was put on an antibiotic and the same time. Once she was done with the antibiotic she started being itchy all over again.
I tried different things over the last few weeks but nothing helped. She also has a shampoo that helps but that wasn't helping her either. So right now she is on antibiotics again along with getting the shot. The shot could last up to 2 months if it works, however we really won't know if it is working until she is off the antibiotic again.
Right now she seems happy and content. She isn't scratching or hiding under the bed which is a good thing!
Wednesday Skye got a haircut. I ran and got a pedicure along with running some errands while she was at the groomer. Thursday I got a haircut and also ran some errands along with seeing a movie. Some days it is enough for me to shower and get dressed. I've also been doing housework and laundry so being out of the house several times this week has added to my exhaustion!
This is her "I'm not looking at you" pose!

Sadly Amber and Dylan had to put their precious West Highland Terrier Charlie down on Tuesday. It just breaks my heart. Charlie lived here with us for 7 years of his life. When we go to visit them it will be so sad not seeing him and Skye won't have him to play with. They were good friends.
This was extremely difficult for Amber and Dylan. This was their baby and they are having a very hard time right now. I know that all the dog/cat lovers out there know what they are going through. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer 3 years ago and actually did very well until the last few months. He would have turned 14 in November.
Love you Charlie.....
You will always be in my heart.

so sorry to hear both dogs are having itchy problems, there is nothing I hate more than an itchy place on myself. poor babies. hope the shot works and condolences and hugs for Charlies mom and dad... run free sweet Charlie
so sorry to hear Skye isn't feeling well.
One of our cats has allergies that do the same.
She itches so bad she rubs herself raw.
Presently she looks great!
The vet said she is allergic to fleas.
But, that doesn't explain why it happens when there are no fleas.
All 3 of our cats are indoor cats.
I pray a solution will be found for all of our four-legged friends :)

I hope sweet Skye is better and I am so sorry about your daughter's baby. I am very familiar with that pain. ((hugs))
I'm so sad to learn about Charlie's passing; Amber and Dylan's broken hearts. Hearts do heal, to a point … there's still a huge hole where my Caraleigh used to dwell.
Praying that y'all find a viable remedy for Skye's discomfort!
So sorry about this situation, we are going through something similar with our dear Jack, I know how frustrating this can be. I pray it will soon be resolved.
I am also sorry about the loss of Charlie.
Thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry for the loss of Charlie.
And I am so surprised the pill sure worked for Disco - it was a miracle. We started with a high does one full one in the am and p m. Now we are down to a half am and pm. You can tell when he hasn't had one. I am so sorry I hope something does. sandie
Sending hugs for all. I am sorry about Charlie, our Molly is slowing down more and more, we know that some day ... we enjoy each day that we can. So I do understand, sending hugs!
Hoping the shot and pills work for Skye. She looked very cute groomed.
So sad about Charlie. Hardest thing a pet owner has to do. I feel for Amber and Dylan. I know they will be grieving for a very long time.

Losing a pet is always difficult. People without pets don't understand how it is like a child to us. So, sending lots of hugs to Amber and Dylan.
Hope the medication works for Skye. I only ever had the tiniest problem with Mathilda, but I used a bit of tea tree oil and that seemed to alleviate somewhat. Although not cure!
