Tuesday March 26th we went to the Poppy Reserve in the Antelope Valley. It's a little over a two hours drive from our house. It was wonderful. We stopped and had lunch on our way home.
This is a State Park and was very well organized. This state park has poppy blossoms every year. It's location is just the perfect environment for the poppies to grow. Being a State Park there was a fee and I think we waited in line for about 20 minutes to get in the park.
The other area with poppies, one that was close to our house, are a rare sight this year because of the extreme amount of rain we had. People were parking on the freeway and walking, lines went on forever so we decided to drive to the Poppy Reserve.
These fields with the yellow flowers
were miles away from us.
Every direction we looked there were poppies. There were paths everywhere but we just walked one of them a short way because of the altitude and climb which is difficult for me. You could walk miles of pathways so we certainly didn't see all the poppies but it was an amazing sight.

WOW, how pretty. The first thing I thought of when I saw some of these pictures was the Wizard of Oz and the 4 of them traveling across the poppy fields and falling asleep

I am wondering what they do with all these poppies. amazing sight and they are beautiful.
Well, orange is my fave color. I would die of happiness to see this. I am looking into finding poppy seeds to plant here.
Absolutely jaw dropping. Someday we are going to make it there to see them too.
I have seen fields of the poppies as we have gone over the Grapevine but never like that.
Worth the fee to be able to roam the pathways.
This is from Chatty - I am going to try to get to some blog and comments.
