1. Food: ~ Do you buy brand names or go for the cheaper store name brand?
That depends on what I'm buying. I will take the store brand when I'm buying Black Beans. When it comes to yogurt I like Fage and it's all I buy.
2. Clothes: ~ Wear designer jeans/slacks with a brand name or regular department store jeans/slacks?
I'd have to say I wear a regular department store jean. Because of breathing issues and other factors I tend to wear a pull on jean with an elastic waist.
3. Handbags: ~ Buy a designer bag or look for a less expensive copy?
I admit I do like handbags. I've been buying from "I Love Dooney" online for several years now. They are true Dooney bags, older models that are greatly discounted. This was a special in March. The color is elephant. This bag was a special for $99, regularly $250. These bags last forever.
4. Shoes: ~ You got the drift, designer or a cheaper copy?
I guess you could say designer because I only buy Birkenstock and Toms shoes. I do however get them on sale. I go to a Toms outlet that's not too far away and I seldom pay full price for anything I buy.

I pretty much buy the cheaper brand on everything. There are a few grocery items where I buy the name brand and for work I usually buy a better brand of shoe but at a place that sells them cheaper.
I buy store brands for most items, but some things i don't, just like you. i love Swiss Miss Hot choc and tried the publix store brand because it was lower in calories and a dollar less. NOPE back to swiss miss. i have never had anything, from shoes to clothes to bags that was a designer brand.
Besides Bounty, Charmin and Hellman's mayo … I'm good with store brands. Oops, no. Cancel that. Once Tom chose a store brand of tomato sauce v. Del Monte garlic/oregano and something else just to save 35-cents. Never again!
Well girl - if I had more money I would probably buy more expensive - but I think we buy according to what we have. And there is nothing wrong with that. I usually don't buy anything not on sale. I do buy my shirts at Macy's my bluejeans at WalMart. My purses on sale from Macy's. Never had a Dooney. And again like you I buy some things at the grocery store with labels and some not. Sometimes it does pay to buy more expensive things - toilet paper for us for instance! lol
I am like you, although I have never bought a Dooney, but When I was working it paid to pay for quality and purses lasted a good long time.
I'm with you about brand names versus generic. Some products I'll buy brand name only because they are better than the generics by a lot like macaroni and cheese. Tried the store brand and it was nothing like Kraft's and the kids could tell a difference growing up. I just buy this one particular type of jeans in multiple amounts when I need them. If they ever stop making them, I don't know what I'll do! I do like that handbag of yours.
betty
My mom and my sisters-in -law are into handbags...I rarely even carry one. I have a tote that I use for school and I usually take that. I am just awful when it comes to nice things. I do not have them. I love your handbag though! Loved your answers! Have a nice Tuesday!

Love that Dooney bag! One day I will own of of those! Have a great Tuesday!
I tend to think like you on most of the answers.
I read over the question and since they all sort of are the same then here is my answer to them all....I have NEVER been one to wear brand names. You can find some really cute stuff without that NAME. As for food, if it taste as good as the brand, then I go with off brand.
I hardly ever go for a brand name, unless it's something I really really want. Other than that: the cheaper option is usually just as good.
I mostly buy generics in groceries, although I don't buy a lot of groceries that have brands, period. I am very brand-loyal in jeans (Levis only) and sneakers (New Balance). I don't carry a purse, so I can't answer that one. And I buy a range of shoe brands.
