Welcome to Tuesday 4 in honor of Toni Taddeo.
Food!
1. What do you have at breakfast? What can you recommend?
Lately I haven't been into breakfast for some reason. Normally I would like some oatmeal or some Cheerios with almond milk.
Maybe every other week Mark will make eggs and we will have a breakfast egg sandwich.
I like to put spinach on a lunch sandwich so when I have leftover spinach I will saute it with a scrambled egg. Actually I will be doing that this morning!
2. What is your favorite meal of the day and why?
I'm going to say dinner because that is one meal we will usually eat together. It's a meal we talk about in the morning in case we need to thaw some meat.
Mark is not a breakfast and lunch person. I do like 3 meals a day but tend to eat only when I have stomach hunger and not buy a clock.
3. Tell us about your typical lunch or dinner.
If I have bread and lunch meat in the house I will have Dave's bread with spinach, low sodium turkey and maybe a slice of cheese. Sometimes lunch is an apple with peanut butter or maybe yogurt.
Dinner we will have oven roasted pork chops or chicken breasts with a vegetable. Sometimes it is cooked on the grill.
Sometimes it is salad for dinner. We usually make a pizza on Friday nights. We do sliced onions, colored peppers and Italian sausage in the oven about once a month. It's definitely a favorite of ours.
4. Were meals different growing up or do you continue much as your mother did?
I know my mom made dinner and she was a great cook. I remember dinners around the table but I also have blocked out some childhood memories as my mother had issues of her own.
I certainly tried to have dinner around the table with my children when they were growing up.

Sounds like you eat pretty healthy. I like to use extra spinach in quiches. I agree with you about eating when you are hungry and not by the clock. Since we retired we almost always just do brunch and dinner because that's when we both tend to get hungry. Have a great day :)
I'm not a breakfast person either... and now that I'm a "senior citizen" (*ha-ha*), one meal per day is good enough. I don't move around a whole lot so I probably don't need the calories, I dunno. I wish I could have one of my mom's meals "just one more time". Love, Andrea xoxo
I'm not a breakfast person, I just have coffee.
Our main meal is lunch because we like a light supper.
I enjoyed your answers.
Have a great Tuesday.
I hardly ever have breakfast unless it is a late one. Loved your answers. Have a nice Tuesday.

We always have breakfast late as I sleep late. Eggs toast tomatoes are my favorite breakfast, and coffee coffee coffee and more coffee.
I think maybe the hot weather makes me not so hungry for breakfast these days. I do like Cheerios or Rice Krispies as they are lower in sugar. I almost always have coffee for breakfast.
As a child, mother always had supper ready at 6 p.m. and we all ate together. These days due to reflux, I try to not eat anything after about 5 p.m.
I love to eat and I love all meals equally. That said I don't care what I have at each one I have been known to eat a slice of cold pizza for breakfast and eggs and toast for dinner. I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks 5 times a day and I eat by the clock. I eat breakfast at 6:30 and the final meal of the day at 5 p.m. and nothing after that. Usually for breakfast I have some kind of bread sometimes it's healthy bread sometimes it's unhealthy bread with peanut butter on it. Or a bagel with cream cheese or peanut butter on it. I don't like eggs but when I'm trying to lose weight I eat eggs with cheese on them and I eat grits one egg with cheese. If I'm up in my way that's what I eat if I'm down in my weight I ate the bagel. I love all the food my mother cooked and I hate all the healthy food I don't like salad I don't like anyting except the way my mother cooked it. And the way my mother cooked was very unhealthy. We have our large meal of the day at noon and it can be anything at all that you would usually make
Debby, this post is making me hungry🤗
For breakfast, either waffles or grits with egg and a banana.
For lunch, BLT sandwiches
For supper, anything I make from a recipe.💖
Your homemade pizza sounds yummmmy! For some reason, Tom and I've grown upside down on our eating habits. I have my "big" meal late morning/noon, then just a salad or nuts and cheese at night. He, on the other hand, is prone to skip eating all day, then enjoy a big meal at night. The only time we dine together is weekends when I do a roast or he grills.
I like the scrambled eggs and spinach! Yummy! Growing up we always had dinner together and same when my kids were growing up. I think it is important to do so especially these days. Helps everyone to stay connected. I won't allow cell phones at the table when family is over for dinner.

Debby, you seem to eat the most healthy meals I know! I am not much for breakfast either. But I don't eat good like you during the day.
I love breakfast but hate cooking it and rarely eat it
I LOVE breakfast but only eat it when we go out. Not sure why but I don't want to fool with fixing it. Hubby and I eat really easy meals right now, I'd rather be baking than cooking. Thanks for stopping by!
Yum, I like the idea of scrambled eggs and spinach.
I like spinach in my eggs, too. I grew up on three meals a day but now I do intermittent fasting and during the week don't eat anything (just black coffee) until about 11 am. I do eat breakfasts on the weekends thought because I'm doing pretty hard physical work those days. Usually eggs or bagels with lox.
