I have to say that last weekend was pretty perfect when it comes to our grandson James. We went to their house on Friday night for our Social Distancing visit. Mark and I again put masks on and went inside with James.
He is so excited to have us in his house, it just makes my heart smile. Adam and Gabby stayed outside. He showed us his new eggs for his kitchen set. He was sad that his eggs wouldn't crack so they found this set on Amazon and just look at his Mickey ghost pajamas! He is definitely in love with Mickey Mouse.
We brought Roxy home with us on Friday night. They had their cement patios poured around the pool in the yard and it was going to be easier if she wasn't home. She's such a good girl and we had her for Saturday evening too.
We were very excited when we heard that all three of them were coming over to pick up Roxy. At first it was just going to be Adam. Of course then we wondered if they would be coming in or if we would just be chatting in the front of the house. We haven't had house guests for 8 months!
We all went out in the backyard. We did wear masks except for James. He has an adorable Mickey mask but he's not about to keep one on at this time. He definitely didn't remember our house and he had a blast in our backyard. Our yard is not kid friendly with all kinds of places for him to trip and fall.
As it turned out he did a great job. We were actually lucky that it was a cloudy day because normally the two big sections of ground cover have bees hovering over the little red flowers. That's where he first ran, feel down, and thought it was so much fun he kept doing it over and over again.
He enjoyed exploring the entire yard and was very interested in all the rocks. He is old enough now not to be putting them in his mouth. He threw a few over the fence but stopped after we asked him to. He also put several on the patio where we were sitting and when I asked him later to put them back he did.
Then he found the hose and had fun pretending he was going to spray us with it. It wasn't turned on so he definitely had fun with that.
Then he and I also went into the house a few times to go find some treasures to play with. Mainly some talking plush Halloween items I've collected over the years of working at Hallmark.
I also gave him a Christmas Mickey to take home so he can start getting excited about Christmas.
Now this was a very cute thing that happened and he did this all on his own. He took his water and the Goldfish crackers he was eating and used the spa steps like a picnic table. (I believe his sitter might have a children's picnic table in her yard) We thought it was very clever of him.
Adam, Gabby, Mark and I enjoyed some wine while watching him having fun in the yard. They even said that it felt really good to be over at our house. It was just what they needed. A fun adventure away from home!
Not sure we are seeing them this weekend. Mark has oral surgery today and I believe they have plans for Halloween. But we did see them twice last weekend so that was awesome!
Enjoy your weekend.....

What a wonderful visit you had with them. Such a treat to get to watch James. He looks like he was having a lot of fun. He's such a cutie.
so glad he finally came to visit Grandma and Grandpa! I can see the joy in his face but he's such a joyful child anyway. I am happy that you finally got to be in and out of both houses with him and I know he is to
James is growing into a fine young man. Of course, he has always been that and so adorable, too. I know he was excited about the adventures at his grandparents' house. We bought some candy but not sure if we'll have many visitors this year with COVID. There are many kids in our new subdivision.
How perfectly wonderful! James just keeps getting cuter and cuter.
What a nice visit and the photos are all so cute. He was so smart about using the steps as a little picnic table, it's perfect!
Oh my goodness, he's such a sweet little guy! I adored reading about all the fun he had outside your house!
Seemed like a perfect weekend with those 2 gatherings together Debby! James is so cute and has a great personality! What is he going to be for Halloween?
betty
What an unexpected blessing to 'host' James and his parents! He sounds so well-behaved! I'm super impressed that someone thought to manufacture those realistic eggs. Kids are getting smarter all the time, aren't they?
Cute pictures of James. Where did you get the new Mickey? Have a great weekend!
Oh my gosh I love your photos.

I love Mickey too.
Good luck to Mark on his surgery.
